I purchased a groupon or similar deal for this place after calling to be sure they had a super sensitive skin line as I deal with this issue. They assured me they use a line no one reacts to. Well, they must not have had anyone with super sensitive skin get a facial, but I did react. My skin burned while the peal was on and continued to burn for over a day afterwards. They told me they use this line because its professional and herbs can go rancid so they refuse to use herbal lines which are definitely less reactive for me. In addition, I had forgotten the deal I purchased was 90 minutes. I arrived seven minutes early, was called in a couple of minutes after the appointment time and have never had anyone rush through a facial so much. I felt like she was trying to get me out the door as quick as possible. I noted the facial only last forty minutes or so, consider the late start time and being finished ten minutes to the hour. At the time I spaced I should have been given 1 1/2 hours. Another stress for this place is all the parking around is pay for only. There are no one or two hour parking spots on the street. There is no limited free parking whatsoever. On the other hand, there is the ability to pay using a card for your parking, if you can find a machine that isnt out of order on the street. I would never recommend this place to anyone given my treatment, but especially those with very sensitive skin. The search continues.

Im so happy that I found Modele Salon! Since moving to Portland about 3 years ago, Ive tried 3 different salons. None of them felt like a good fit for me and my hair cut was always so so. My visit to Modele was fantastic. The people were friendly and fun to talk with. Shawna was knowledgable and took a different stance on my hair than what I had always been told. This is the first time in 6+ years that I havent had layers and what a revelation this has been! Thank you, Shawna, for not giving me layers! This is the best haircut Ive ever had. Cant wait to see what you can do for color!

I did the research. I was looking for a stylest. Choose Shawna based mainly on her profile. So disappointed. First off the heat was out, should have have offered to reschedule. She cut so fast, failed to take the details I told her but she did spend plenty of time drying or should I say warming herself up. My hair is a mess, Im out $70.00. Which I would have gladly paid if the service had warranted it. I was hoping I had found the place I was looking for, but I didnt find anything. Shawna did not live up to her profile or my hopes. Keep looking, folks.

Ive been seeing Shawna for over seven years now. I love how the space has evolved over the years. The staff is so friendly and generous that I always feel very welcome every time I step through the door. I LOVE the copper color that Shawna does. As Ive gotten older my hair has changed, a little more gray and darker. Knowing someone can quickly assess what needs to be done and getting it right keeps me going back.

I had a great experience with Raechel S. as a new client. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and got me in right on time. We finished up early because she is efficient and I was just getting a trim, so Raechel did a beautiful braid in my hair. The salon is also very pretty--large glass windows and exposed beams. Love Modele. Shauna, the owner, is very knowledgeable and helps her staff be more knowledgable as well. Education and training is important to them. Ive seen Johnny, Rachel and Shannon, and loved them all. Bumble and Bumble products. Nice atmosphere.
