I _want_ to like this facility; its the closest to where I live. But...it ranks lowest of the six 24 hours Ive been to in the last year, and way, way below other clubs Ive visited. Heres why: 1) They arent open all of the hours I want to work out, which is ironic, for being a "24-hour" fitness. They close too early weekend nights. 2) 50% of the staff seem to know nothing about the club hours, its services, or customer service in general. (I asked a simple question about group classes - the response was a point -to some sheets in a slot across the room) and a muttered "all the information is there" while he kept reading his texts). 3) It is not that clean. - when I was a personal trainer (another club), it was considered an important part of the job to circulate and keep an eye on equipment and locker room cleanliness. Its not filthy, but they could do better. The staff seem un-engaged.

I like 24 fitness, but the quality of this particular location is sub-par. Often machines stay broken for a lengthy amount of time, and finding a machine during rush hour is already a problem. The bathrooms dont have enough ventilation. They dont have high rise ceilings yet they use the same super-power lights they would if they had high rise ceilings. This may seem like nitpicking, but try doing some benches when the lights are burning your retina and then talk to me. This location is convenient because its one block away from work for me, but often I will go out of my way all the way to 1210 NW Johnson because that one is so much better.

This 24 hour fitness is disabled discriminatory! Yes, they have a good ramp but you are unable to go to the pool/spa the door has a push bar/handle 2 above where a person in a wheelchair can reach and you have to ASK to have someone help you. They claim its to protect kids yet there is NO kids club thereanymore and there is no ecuse. Other 24 hour fitness clubs with kids clubs have easy access to the pool area, they ALLOW the disabled in, this one will be turned in to Americans with Disabilities, The news media and Elders in Action due to clear disabled discrimination

Im glad theres an affordable gym downtown. It feels really dated though, like there hasnt been a remodel in years. At least compared with other gyms Ive attended that look much more modern, open and have more tvs. I know to a lot of people thats no big deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning especially for the price you pay. If youre just looking for a place to use equipment or do laps in the pool... This gym is within walking distance if you live near the area and not rediculously expensive. This is kind of your only option so Id recommend it for that reason.

Got robbed by an employee here working the night shift on July 11th at around 2:30am-4am. Left about $120 in one of the mens locker room lockers used the club locker with built in combination lock and when I finished my work out I noticed it was missing. The employees can bypass the locks I know from past experience when I forgot the combination. It takes a few seconds and the same employee seemed nervous when I was leaving. Its bad enough the homeless use this place as their public bathroom do we really need to worry about employees too?

They will steal from you. I left Downtown Portland and froze my account at the downtown Portland club with the understanding that that was the best way to cancel my membership. Ive just discovered that these people have been charging me a full membership fee since the day I requested a freeze. I requested a refund and was told the system will not allow it. My fault for not paying close attention. Dont sign-up for this bunch of unethical business people. They are thieves. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Maintenance and cleaning is not a priority here. A reasonably decent facility marred by a lackadaisical attitude towards keeping clean equipment (especially cardio machines) and a staff devoted only to getting their commissions through personal training sessions and membership contracts. Youve got one person working on keeping things clean and then a half dozen trainers just gossiping and scoping out potential clients. Needs a proactive manager to whip facility back into shape.

This club is not one of my favorites but is convenient. During the lunch hours and immediately at the end of the typical workday, this place is very crowded. Usually you are able to find a machine or get to the weights you need, but the locker room is usually where the inconvenience comes in during those times. Waiting for showers or even finding a locker is a challenge. The club is clean and the staff is friendly.

Closest place to work out after work downtown. Not enough squat racks, smaller weight room. They allow bums downtown to use the showers. The showers are rarely cleaned and by far the worst of any 24 Ive ever been to. They only change shower curtains until they are covered in mildew. No towel service at this location because its only a sport. They did get a set of brand new treadmills so in guess thatscool.

the club has everything you could need or want for any type of workout/training... BUT(!!), the place so dirty I need chorine bath after I leave - every piece of equipment is sticky to the touch. the staff are a bunch of children out of HS. They tell you how affordable the place is and then hit you with 1st month, last month, and sign up fees... AND contract conditions to terminate the agreement.

Great layout and much more spacious than youd think when seeing it from the street. The lack of parking is noticeable though. Unless youre willing to pay for parking or you come at odd hours, you wont be able to park anywhere near the gym. There are two 24 Hour Fitness locations in downtown. This one, and one in Pearl. The Pearl location has a small parking lot and more street parking as well.

While a decent, quieter gym ideal for your everyday workout, the Downtown 24 is in need of updating. The lighting system could be redesigned to allow the ceiling lattice over the cardio equipment area to be raised higher. Spin bikes are so tired and worn out -- as is much of the strength training equipment. Regardless of the qualms, I prefer this gym over the Pearl 24.

The treadmills are all barely running, motors are slow, running pad makes weird noises. The weight machines, short of one row of news ones, are all poorly maintained and old. The gym is tight, crowded with exposed, dusty ceilings and a dirty bathroom. Having been to many of the area 24 hour fitnesss, I cant believe this is owned by the same company. Horrible.

One night I left my swim shorts there like an idiot, but I called and one of the staff there named Tanner was willing to look for them and found them and bagged them and tagged them and put them in the lost and found for me to pick up, I consider that first class customer service, thank you Tanner and 24 Hour Fitness for the great customer service.

This 24 hour has been recently remodeled, and it is great. I use it in the afternoon, since I work downtown. The facilities are simple and everything you need. I take the spin class, which is great. There is one instructor Daren (Fri @ noon), who is a bit too intense and loud for me, though. Julie (Mon @ noon) is a solid instructor, though.
