So my wife and I, on our first day back to the gym and the front counter guy decides to pull the link alarm as my wife has weights over her head and a few other dozen people like me are pedaling or working out and all get startled. After we are done I ask the Bruno Mars looking guy with the backpack on whos about to leave, what or who activates the alarm and why. All smug like he puts his hands up and points down at himself with a smile. I said ok, you do, why did you hit it today? "Well somebody was acting up" and the Hispanic chick says " it goes off when somebody clanks their weights or gunts or wears inappropriate gym clothing". I asked who set it off as I was back there and heard nothing and why is it that he just bragged about setting it off when you say its automated and it is smart enough to tell what type of clothes someone has on. Also, if someone up here is setting it off in a joking manner that they need to be mindful of people with weights over their heads and someone activating an alarm that could distract and possibly hurt them with said weights. The chick then restated that it was automated to which I waved her off and walked away not wanting my intelligence insulted again. Then it sounded like they proceeded to talk about my wife and I in Spanish, but then my Spanish is rusty so... Seriously considering the new Crunch or back to 24 hour who has expressed that they want us back and at reduced rates. This place is a dam library in its quietness and people are trying to get fit, its in the title. To do so means breathing heavy, lifting heavy thing, sweating, maybe wearing, loose or baggy gym type of clothes, all of which seems to be outlawed here. "Judgement Free Zone" my rearend! Seems really judgemental to me

HORRIBLE MANAGMENT .. I am not one to write reviews yet alone a rant but this was not okay.. When I signed up with Planet Fitness they had a new system that had an error. With that they lost all my credit card information along with over 100+ other members information. So 4 months latter when I go in they decide to tell me about my lost information. With that I got a bill of over $200.00 thrown at me for membership and late fees. I didnt get one phone call to inform me to provide my information, no letter in mail, nor informing me when I go in to workout or tan. (3 times a week). When I spoke to management she said they have ten pages of people of lost credit card information and just didnt have enough time to contact the members (Even though it has been 4 months).. When I asked Luna why they didnt tell me the next time I came in, she stated they get to busy and dont look at members account. ( Isnt that their job ? ) This is my credit card information that was lost along with having a bill sprung on me. I was told I have 3 days to pay $200.00.!! Couldnt believe how unprofessional, the poor management, along with the carelessness of other peoples personal information and budgeting. I am extremely understanding of computer issues however NOT contacting every member of lost credit card information is not ok!! A staff member should have picked up an extra shift and should have been assigned to call everyone on that list . I will be paying the fine to cancel my mebership early and will not be recommending them anymore.. I do not trust them and recommend spending your money elsewhere !

For the last year and a half the set of 30LB weights have been missing from my club, as well as one 40LB and one 35LB weight making for a total of 1 missing set and two incomplete sets. This is extremely unprofessional and stingy to not replace these weights. Im sick and tired of not having enough weights to go around for myself and other members. Ive mentioned this to staff members countless times for the year and a half that the weights have been missing and all they do is write it down in their log book and nothing gets done about it. Furthermore the staff dont use the lunk alarm anymore nor do they patrol and enforce the rules. I see countless women wearing crotch shorts, tube tops, and sports bras with no shirts! These are all clear violations of the contract we all signed. For the entirety of my membership at planet fitness I have asked the staff time and time again to put up signs that state "Do not work out in front of the weight rack". Time and time again inconsiderate gym members work out directly in front of the weights so no one else can get by to put their weights back or grab more weights. This has to stop! Why wont the staff do anything? The no gymtimidation credo that you guys so blindly preach is a lie as far as Im concerned. Do something about what Ive asked or I want my money back for the entirety of my and my wifes memberships.

I have been a member of PF for about three days and in those three days I have decided to go back to 24hr Fitness.....and thats saying a lot. I must admit its a much nicer place than 24hr however lack of basic equipment like core/workout balls, scales, and whatnot seem to be leading me to wanting to go somewhere that has proper equipment. But what pushed me over the edge was that they claim no other PFs have these items (which is not true) and that the manager, Phyllis, seems to be the most shifty person in the world. I have tried numerous times to get in touch with her and she always seems to not be there. Oddly enough, one of their employees slipped up and I found out she was there just didnt want to deal with a member apparently. All I really wanted was to express my comments and then either cancel or see if they planned to get these items. Now I just want to cancel and get my money back. You know for a gym that sponsors The Biggest Loser, they dont have the stuff that is on that show that helps these people get in shape.....odd I think. If you want plain, bare bones gym and dont mind staff that are shifty then this is a five star place. But if free tanning (um, fake n bake is very lunkish btw) and coin operated massage chairs arent enough find someplace else.

Worst business practices Ive seen in a long time. The people they have running the customer service are terrible. My wife and I just recently signed up. Nothing was even mentioned of an "annual" fee. Just pay our monthly and enjoy the gym. Fast forward 3 months and now our bank gets hit for 70$. Call them and get told its because of the annual fee that all accounts have to pay. Explained to the person I was never told of this, and after looking at the papers I got the day I signed up there is nothing mentioned of this, they told me too bad its in the contract. Really? That is the customer service this place has? I would of been fine with it had it been disclosed at the start. I would even have been fine if the person I talked to this morning actually cared and didnt pop off with "its in the contract" and be unreasonable to even talk options on the matter. Needless to say accounts are canceled there and will be going through bank channels to get the money returned. None of the papers I was given at the sign up include anything about an annual fee.
