I recently attempted to duplicate a simple mailbox key at Fred Meyer. After the incompetent store employee had duplicated the key...I returned to my residence and realized that the duplicate key did not open the mailbox. When I returned to Fred Meyer a few days later to ask them to try again, they informed me they were out of the type of key I needed. Rather than ever trying Fred Meyer ever again...I opted for 4th Avenue Shoe Repair and Keys. The store, admittedly is VERY small. It is so small that upon walking in you might think this diminutive shop doesnt have ample keys or resources to fulfill ones request. The man who owns this store was very genuine. I had on me very little cash and asked him if he would accept debit card to pay for duplication of a key. He told me no. But knowing that I would have to find an ATM machine...he accepted the little cash I had on me...hence, I only had to pay half the price for the key duplication. When I returned home, the mailbox duplicate key fit perfectly...

I needed a pair of leather boots re-soled and buffed after a super wet winter season. A popular shoe repair shop on Alberta St. told me it would cost around sixty dollars and that it would also take 30 days. I declined to give them my business and asked a few friends if they knew of a place that wouldnt cost as much but did quality work on shoes. My buddy Joe said to come here and Im so glad I did. Paul did an amazing job, even staining the wood on the heels because they lost some color. The boots were ready two days later and it only cost me $38. I brought in a second pair of boots that Ive had forever (the Frye engineer boot) to get buffed and he only charged me $10. Picked those babies up today, again only needing to give them up for 2 days, and they look good as new. Im convinced hes the best in town for shoe repair. Hes a kind person and it shows that he cares about his work. Highly recommended.

came in to ask about how to dye red "doctor marten" boots black, and Andre sold me just what i needed for $20 and was super duper helpful and nice. literally the kind of service i could expect in a beautiful shining utopian society. I left being like "wow heck yeah people rock!" Also, they sell cute little wool bootie slippers. just adorbz

I cant say enough good things about Andre and the magic hes worked on my shoes. Hes reworked several pairs of Allen Edmonds for me--every time Im amazed at how great the shoes look / feel when hes done. And his prices and turn-around times (usually <24 hours) cannot be beat. Hands down, best shoe repair in Portland.

I took my UGG boots to Andrey. It had a tear on the back on the seam. He put a patch over it and it looks better than when I first bought it :) He is so friendly and fast service. Will take all my shoe repair and shine to him...
