Ive been going there for about two years. I found a stylist I like so I make sure shes working before I go. Ive never received a negative attitude from the staff and all have been helpful. Some would say they are overpriced and I might agree a little bit. When I wanted to change my hair style I got excellent feedback from my stylist and she worked with me. I wasnt thrilled when they moved to an electronic check in on an ipad. This takes about three times as long as before when you signed in on paper. You can now check in online which really sets me wrong. You can sit at home, be eating lunch down the street or just laying in the sun. Now you can see what the wait time is online, check in to reserve your spot. This would be different if you could actually make an appointment, but instead youre basically just cutting ahead of those that actually show up and sign in. If you do check in online, be forewarned, whatever the wait time listed is, it could very quickly shrink down. This is a problem since some people dont show up after theyve checked in from elsewhere. So just because the wait time on their website says an hour and forty five minutes, it could very quickly shrink down to thirty minutes and you wouldnt know it. Then when you get there youve missed your spot and have to sign in again. After all, you werent there when they called your name so how is that their fault. If you dont mind taking your chances with online check in (or showing up and sitting for an hour), having a beer while you wait that youre actually paying for in the cost of the haircut, then this is the place for you.

They do not take appointments, so I dropped in at 11:25am on a Thursday. There were 2 stylists working, one 9 year old having her hair cut, and 5 people already waiting... I made 6. One stylist finished the girls hair, and proceeded to spend 10 minutes helping her decide on what kind of hair product she should be using. At this point, the mother got involved... the stylist spent 5 more minutes re-discussing hair product options with her. By now, the other patrons were looking at their watches, and giving heavy sighs in hopes of the stylist taking notice that we were here. Luckily, at this point, she enlisted the help of the other stylist. Now the only 2 stylists there were devoting all their time and attention to the 9 year olds hair product questions and concerns. This went on for another 10 minutes... all accompanied by the frequent watch glancing and heavy sighing from the other 5 patrons waiting somewhat patiently. At this point, I had been there for 30 minutes, and the stylists had spent the entire time helping one 9 year client and her mother. At this point, I crossed my name off the list and left. I will refrain from saying what I think of my experience, and leave that up to you to decide.

I just wouldnt. The second to last time i went here, they cut 3 inches off my hair (which i measured, so im sure), when i went for a trim. Then i didnt realize until i got home and flat ironed my hair, that the asymmetrical cut the lady gave me today when i went for a trim, is on the wrong side, is unflattering, and if after a few years at community college for this, you still dont understand how asymmetrical cuts work, and that i said i wanted a half inch, not a half inch, plus whatever you decide to free range off my hair, because youre incapable of listening to the wants of your client, you should probably quit. I am sick of going to other salons because no one here could dye my hair actual grey, cant understand what a trim is, and doesnt know how to cut a hair style correctly. More than 1 "artist" here decided to ignore what i asked for, and just started clipping away, and when i got home and remeasured, there is always an inch or more than they were supposed to take off. At least i can rely on the fact that no one here will ever get my hair cut right, but will squeeze me into any spot quickly.

I dont know what kind of crack the neler6 person is smoking, but it definitely aint the good kind. Methinks this was someone dumped by one of the Bishops staff-persons...;-) Anyway, Bishops is a fun spot. You walk in, you say hi, they give you a Miller while you wait. The place has good tunes, the art is fly, and the atmosphere is casual/industrial/modern (the Alberta location was totally clean and spotless, actually). My haircut went without a hitch, and I got what I wanted, and my hairdresser was nice to talk to. Granted, if you wanted a full-blown salon so you can blow $80+, perhaps this place is too rudimentary for you. But for a dude like me who wants the job done, with a slight edge--cheaply, and with a smile and a beer...Im there.

Unfortunately pretty bad. I have been going to this location for a couple years now and usually have received good customer service, but not today. They have a online sign in that shows you when different stylists are available. When I walked in, they said the person I signed up for should be done in a few minutes. Thirty five minutes later I walked out. After acknowledging me when I arrived, I watch 5 other people get cared for and no one came over to apologize for the extended. What a bummer, I liked coming here but Im afraid I wont be back.

My husband continued going to this mediocre salon because it was near our home and he had racked up a good number of cuts, and was close to getting one free. Well today he went in to get his free cut and lo and behold his card (which held his name and number of visits to the salon) was mysteriously missing from the file. I dont like doing business with establishments who treat their customers with disrespect, and do not rectify their mistakes. Consider us unsatisfied customers who will tell everyone we know- this salon doesnt value its clientele.

Quick service, no appointments-- so drop in during work hours if you can, guys. Today, I had my hair styled by Coco, who knew just how to fix my hair when I tried to trim it myself (bad idea). She was attentive to people coming in, it appeared they were short-staffed today, and I appreciated her being communicative with what she was doing. I also had my hair done 6 months ago by a lovely lady named Heather, excellent care then as well.

Friendly, and contemporary, if you want a real hair cut you should highly prioritize this place. Forget Great Clips or some other crappy generic place like that, Bishops is unique with their hairstyles and they will give you the honest truth about what hairstyles they think best fit you. Instead of being yes-men/women, they take their time to figure out what you want rather than some standardized comb over. My favorite stylist is Coco!

I have been going to bishops on hawthorne for two years and have no problems but my last visit was horrible. I was told a half hour wait and an hour and a half later my name still wasnt called. The stylist were more concerned with there little party in the break room and there smoke breaks never even acknowledging me. They are not a business there a hang out I will be going to a real business next time never again bishops
