This place used to be great, but the past several months or so its gotten so bad, and they just raised their prices. My last trip, Wendy cut my my hair. She managed to take off WAY more hair than I wanted and put drastic divots in my hair. I came back a couple days later for a fix from the manager, who did a snip or two, said it was technically correct, and sent me on my way. I finally had to go to different shop to get two terrible stylists screwups rectified. Unfortunately this isnt the first situation like this Ive had here lately. Higher prices and worse cuts? I wont be back to this Bishops.

I love Bishops because of the overall consistency of the Barburs working there, atmosphere, good music, and good prices too. If you havent noticed there seems to be a trend of Barbur shops charging outrageous prices for a simple cut/fade but you can always go to a Bishops and get a quality cut for around $20.00. They dont do appointments but at this one they got me right in, I dont think Ive ever had to wait more then 20 minutes or so at any Bishops and they always have a good selection of reading materials and beverages to keep you occupied while your waiting.

Do not go to Bishops if you are the type of person who really benefits from advice from the stylist. My stylist did not understand what kind of haircut I wanted and she ended up cutting it shorter than I was hoping it would be. In the past, when I paid $45 for a haircut, I was much more satisfied because the higher price meant the stylist actually had an understanding of hair. This place is probably fine if youre a guy and you dont have a lot of hair to cut, but for a girl who wants to feel pretty, I suggest going elsewhere. The extra money will be worth it.

Great haircut, or should I say styled, in a very hip shop. As a walkin getting a random hairdresser can be scary when you want to look on point and care about your style. I got a quality stylist, very relieved. Im from out of town and needed a haircut, I took a picture in and request my hair styled as per the picture. After three months travel and no haircut I got exactly what I requested, a comb over fade with a beard fade. Very happy.

Victoria was great and she put out an honest effort which i respect. The cut was fine.. staff was cool with the beer ...and inviting –to go with some random chit chat. Good team effort. No downers.. It just wasnt extra special. If Cognac was a language, Im sayin it was VSOP but not quite XO-ish.. If that makes any sense. i dont like giving 5s out for simply meeting my expectations. But yeah, Id come back here again.

The staff was amazing! My hubbie & I stopped by w/o an appointment & they still took care of us. Customer service at its finest! The lady who did my wash, cut and style listened & did exactly what I wanted. Additionally, her personality was awesome possum, totaly laid back and super sweet! The free beer was a nice touch also ☺

Had a killer experience. Staff was very friendly and outgoing. Had a great vibe and overall feel to the place unlike any other barber shop. Best of all you get a free beer with your cut! And to top it off if you get a buzz cut like me it will only run you a mere $12 definitely worth trying out

I just got my hair cut there had a great experience and wanted to just say that the stylist Malarie is awesome she cut my hair exactly the way i wanted it and even had some suggestions to improve my next cut:) i will be returning to bishops when im ready to get styled up again thanks

I have afro hair and I could see that the girl was clearly struggling with it. She was friendly and tried to make me comfortable. Id just not recommend the place to anyone with coarse afro hair or any type of afro. Id rather go to a more experienced black barber

I went in to get my hair tidied up before a wedding. They have a really good queuing system but that was irrelevant because I got served so quickly. The staff were friendly and the haircut was reasonably priced (for portland) and good.

friendly staff, and a great haircut, all presented in a cool, hip space. maybe a little on the pricey side for a basic mens haircut, but felt like a bit more of a premium experience, and i was happy with the cut!
