I made an order on 7/31, with the expected shipping time of 7-10 business days. I was given a tracking number, and clicking on that went to a Fedex website stating that delivery was expected Fri. 8/4. On Fri. 8/4 tracking information on the Fedex website stated the item was at the Fedex facility in Troutdale OR and would be delivered Sat., 8/5. Saturday evening, 8/5, tracking information stated that my address was not found and item was sent back to the facility in Troutdale. It would be held over two days and delivered Tuesday, 8/8. Here’s when things began to smell: On Saturday 8/5, a Fedex Express delivery truck pulled into my driveway. The driver said he couldn’t find an address for delivery, as his gps device was wrong. I gave him directions to his destination. He stated that the gps devices used on Fedex trucks were often wrong and he often got lost, even though he lived in the area. He was stressed, but pleasant. I began to wonder why Fedex would bother resending my item without knowing its destination. I tried to call Fedex to give them directions to my address, but was told that only the sender could adjust delivery, not the recipient. So I waited, and guess what? The item was sent back to Troutdale for the second time Tuesday evening, as the address was “wrong”. I called the sender Tuesday evening, explaining the problem. The customer service person promised to speak with Fedex, then asked me to call again in half an hour. She left very precise notes that Fedex would be calling me Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning, so that I could give the driver directions for delivery on Wednesday, 8/9. I cancelled plans so that I could be available for the call. I waited through the evening of 8/8. I waited 8/9. There was no call. I called Fedex and after some emphatic insistence that Fedex was not serving its customers, was referred to a “customer advocate”. She called the Troutdale facility, then called me and said that the package was still sitting in the Troutdale facility, not on the truck for delivery as stated the evening before! BUT, if I cared to give her directions, the package would be delivered Thursday, 8/9. Let’s see: for six days Troutdale’s Fedex facility has been sending out my package, wasting their drivers’ time and energy with faulty gps, then returning it and letting it sit in its facility. Troutdale lied to the sender’s representative about delivery, and has continued to fail to deliver. Either this facility’s management is incredibly inept, or the package has been lost and the facility is lying and stalling to buy time to find it. Fortunately, the vendor has backed out my shipping charges and a new delivery is being sent via USPS. Fedex’s Troutdale facility has been deceitful, inept, and is unwilling to provide their drivers (who are working in extreme heat and under pressure) with appropriate tools so that they can do their jobs properly. Hell will freeze over before I use Fedex again. Clearly, with Fedex the customer comes last.

If I could give them zero stars, I would! My package was supposed to be delivered last Thursday, but due to the snow, it was delayed. It has been at the Troutdale location for a week, with no actual new delivery date. I called FedEx on Thursday and Friday (1 day after the original delivery date) and spoke with managers each time. They both called the Troutdale location and assured me that I could pick it up the following day. Saturday, I drove down to the Troutdale location and spoke with a guy who said that he would have it ready for me to pickup by Tuesday (at the latest). Monday, I called Troutdale and spoke with another guy who confirmed that the trailer my package is on will be unloaded that night, and that I can pick it up at 8 am Tuesday. Well, here we are Tuesday... I called at 8:05 am and spoke with the same guy I talked to yesterday. He said "sorry, but the trailer is no longer accessible for us to unload!" WTF??? My husband and I drove down to Troutdale to talk to someone in person. They are now saying that the trailer wont be unloaded until after 3 pm today (1/17) AT THE EARLIEST (But they are doubtful, as we are getting more bad weather). They have failed at getting our trailer unloaded that has been parked there for AN ENTIRE WEEK!! At this point, I have no clue when I will receive my package. My theory is that they are unloading the new trailers that are coming in, and are neglecting the trailers that have been parked there! Im half tempted to contact the seller and have them ship a new item to me via UPS or USPS, as they are out delivering in a timely manner! FedEx has BEYOND failed my expectations!!!!! 1/18 UPDATE: I just called and spoke with someone who states that "we are doing the best we can, but at this point, there is no estimated time as to when the trailer will be unloaded. It could be later today (Wed) or it could be Friday." RIDICULOUS!!!

Disgruntled, Angry, unhappy, those are just some of the word to describe FEDEX SmartPost (not so smart) and the 4th package delivered to the wrong address. YES smartpost is suppose to deliver to the USPS for the final leg of a package journey, however FedEX cant seem to get it there. Instead they deliver it to GATEWAY EXPRESS a private company who doesnt know what to do with the packages they receive wrongly. so they sit on a shelf waiting for the Customer who ordered a item and it was stupidly sent "smart-post" to track it down. 4 count them four (4) packages incorrectly delivered to GateWay Express and after days attempting to track them down (with NO help from FEDEX at all) I now just take the tracking number over to them and sure enough they have the package. When I ask the nice people at GateWay Express what would they have done with the package if I didnt come and retrieve it? they say nothing, it would eventually go back to the shipper. "We are not set up to make final delivery or to notify the USPS when a SmartPost package is wrongly delivered to us" so again on Monday I will head over there and retrieve my package that Fed Ex wrongly said was delivered, (well maybe they delivered it but to the wrong address) there is no fix for the delivery to the wrong address, as they WILL NOT help you in any way. so for the FEDEX employees that say the disgruntled customer should understand mistakes happen, I have to say to them 4 TIME IS NOT A MISTAKE it is a chronic problem what FEDEX hides under the dirty carpet. FIX YOUR HOUSE BEFORE YOU CLAIM PEOPLE DON"T UNDERSTAND.

I know there are a lot of negative reviews but I wanted to take this opportunity to share an experience I had over the weekend. With all the weather issues in the Portland area I had been waiting for my new phone for many days. I am about to leave for a week to travel and needed my phone before I left. My tracking number said it wouldnt be delivered until today (after I departed). So two days ago on Saturday I went to this location around 9 am. This facility is HUGE and I now fully understand the logistics of every package that goes through this place. I followed their process and ended up talking to a guy who was juggling looking for several packages. After he took my tracking number he got back to me in about 10 minutes. He told me some bad news, that my package was on the truck and not at the facility. He did say he would contact the driver and see if there was anyway he could drop it by my place same day. He was super friendly and on top of it given the stress of his job. My package was delivered to my home a couple of hours later. Both this guy and my driver deserve serious credit for being willing to work through a difficult situation successfully. I know there were other people who were helped directly at the facility and most seemed happy. Always remember that people who have a bad experience are far more likely to leave a review and a bad one. Thank you FedEx, please see that the driver and the individual the facility who was searching for packages are rewarded!
