Robinson Plumbing installed a new drain strainer plate in our shower stall a while back due to frequent clogs. Besides ripping us off (see my other review) weve since discovered that the strainer plate that they installed is pretty much useless as the holes are too large to prevent hair from passing through, so weve still had to use various drain covers to correct this. But weve also noticed that the strainer plate they installed is either missing a part or just the incorrect type for the shower we own. As a result, black mold builds up under the strainer plate, between the underside of the strainer plate and the fiberglass lip of the drain hole, and in order to get at it to clean it the strainer plate must be REMOVED first, which means grabbing a screwdriver and having to worry about two tiny screws rolling into the drain every time we want to clean the shower. Our old strainer plate consisted of two pieces, the outer stainless steel/chrome ring of it grouted to the fiberglass lip of the drain hole, then the center piece (the strainer part of it) snapped inside. The new strainer plate consists of one solid piece screwed directly into the fiberglass lip of the drain hole. Problem is the holes along the outer edge of this strainer plate do not clear the fiberglass lip of the actual drain so mold accumulates inside each of these outer-edge holes and all along the fiberglass lip of the drain hole. Picture this: when the plate is unscrewed and lifted there is now mold where there once was putty and this mold is visible through the strainer holes even when the plate is attached and in place. I thought the whole purpose of paying someone to replace the strainer was so that we wouldnt have to keep getting down on our hands and knees to play with the strainer. Now just cleaning the shower stall requires a screwdriver and our getting down on our hands and knees. I was told by his worker that thats just how they make strainer covers now. Assuming no other strainer plate similar in design to the one they removed existed, they should have warned me that this new design would lead to mold growth that would require a screwdriver to remove and perhaps saved me the expense of modifying the existing pipes to accommodate this new strainer. I do find it interesting that all of his 5-star reviews (never a 4-star) come from 1-review reviewers. Family and friends?

Robinson Plumbing just finished converting my house from an oil furnace to a high-efficiency gas unit and I am very pleased with their service and attention to detail. I almost went with the big gas company in town, just to keep things simple, but am really sick of working with huge companies that dont seem to really care about their service. After getting a quote from them and unsuccessfully trying to get someone on the phone to answer my questions, I contacted Robinson for a comparison quote. Matt (owner) was very informative and friendly and was able to beat the other companys price. More important than price, however, was the enthusiastic attitude and personal care that Matt provided. This, in my opinion, is the difference between a large corporate company and a family-owned business. Matt treated me as if he really wanted my business, answered my calls or returned them promptly, and left my house without a big mess for me to deal with. Before starting the project, he walked me through the whole thing and explained the system in great detail. While he lost me with technical-talk more than once, I appreciated him attempting to teach me. When he and his crew left my house, it was like they were never there. Im a total neat freak and was very impressed to see Matt scrubbing dust off my basement steps with a sponge. Most people would have left it for sure. Its obvious that the guy wants your business and wants to keep it for the long-haul. I will be using Robinson Plumbing from now on and would highly recommend them.

Despite a pre-purchase inspection I apparently purchased a house with a faulty u-trap exiting (incline on the exit-side) the house. Approximately every 6 months in the last four years I would encounter a blocked drain and have to call in the plumbers to snake out my sewer line. The dirty-side of the trap would be blocked by grease build-up. I usually caught the blockages before things got to bad. Well, one day, I didnt catch it early enough and I woke up to a basement flooded with dirty water! Needless to say insurance was called in and so was ServePro. My entire basement was gutted and went through remediation while I accepted bids from local plumbers. Robinson Plumber, my local go to plumber, provided me with the lowest quote. Matt was patient with me and explained the steps in detail. Matt and his crew had to wet-saw my basement floor, re-pitch the sewer line and relocate the main sewer trap outside my house using an excavator. Matt and his crew showed up as promised each day and completed the work on-time and within budget. Cleanup was performed before, during and after the project was completed. It is now two months after the work has been done and I just checked the dirty-side of my trap - Squeaky Clean! Prior checks would have resulted in me seeing a grease buildup and having to break-up the buildup with my make shift plunger! Kudos to Matt and his team for a job well done. I would not hesitate to recommend Robinsons Plumbing to anyone... call them. Ato

I contacted Robinson Plumbing for two plumbing jobs at our new home. I needed the cheap, small two bowl stainless steel sink replaced in the kitchen and the even cheaper garbage disposal replaced. Also, I needed a water line run from inside my garage to an outside wall. Robinson plumber Gage responded, took measurements and listened to what I wanted and needed. He specd out the work in the kitchen and the garage and provided an "out the door price". Gage arrived promptly at the appointed time, put on his house saving over shoes and tarped the work areas. He worked at a good pace, not sacrificing quality. In no time the sink was removed and new one installed, and the garage plumbing went just as quickly. I was impressed that he anchored the Pex tubing in a neat and orderly manner. All his elbows are brass, not like the cheap plastic the builder used. He installed freeze proof hose bib and a faucet/drain in the garage, and a shut off in the basement. He came back the next day to seal the sink, plumb and install the disposal. Gage is a Five Star Plumber, professional, polite and gracious. He knows his trade, answered my questions and after the job was complete he cleaned up the job sites, you could not even tell he was there. I would highly recommend this plumbing company and will recommend them to my friends and use them again, if needed in the future. I have used a few plumbers in the past, this company out shines them all.

For anyone who wants a real, person-to-person account and review, look no further. Called every place I could find since last night, when the drain main sewer line decided to clog up going from the toilet to the tub to the toilet to the sink, etc. You know what it is. Everyones either TOO overpriced, and it is like, I swear they take advantage of the needy. But thats NOT the case of Robinson Plumbing! On time, within the 2-hr window given, and Gage came with a partner, called before coming here, job was quick, they know what to do, very knowledgeable, clean cut, fresh-looking outfits, awesome truck with a "Robin" logo that stands out, top-notch equipment; what can I say? EVERY review before me gave me the TRUST in wanting to choose them after calling all over! $500 here & $350 there, and dispatch fees, and blah blah. They unclogged the drain and it looks as if they were never here. Fast, simple, true to reviews, the price I feel is extremely worth it compared to Roto-Rooter, Fred Moyer, & every other "big or small" local plumber. Plus, the reviews. These days, I feel it is a blessing with the internet. WHen every single person says the same positive thing, its easy for me to block out 1 or 2 bad reviews, but the other places didnt have any. Im very happy with picking Robinson, & Id recommend to anyone anytime. Thanks to Gage and his partner, and if ever again we need you, you got a customer here!
