I have been going to this salon since Monique started working there, having followed her from center city to Bala Cynwyd. Although I would follow Monique to any salon, this is my favorite as it is clean, everyone is friendly and it is a comfortable atmosphere. Monique has been cutting my hair for at least 20 years and I always get compliments on my hair cuts and that is through several style changes and lengths. The hair cut is always precise and flattering. She knows how to address all types of hair and many of my friends have switched based on the cut she gives me. I recently let my hair grow longer and was wondering how much work it would be to blow it dry all the time, but the cut is so good that I can get away without blowing it out and it still looks good. Monique is easy to talk to, does what you want and always makes really good suggestions. I cant think of a better place to get a hair cut.

The owner, Mario, has been doing my hair for many years. I have always really liked all the different styles he has given me. Furthermore, I have gotten subtle highlights for quite some time from Trinh that have always been just right for me. Over the years, I have recommended Salon Capelli to quite a few people who have always been very pleased with the results. Mario is a master with the round brush and blow dryer, especially for people with wavy hair. However, I must add that the person that the other two reviewers wrote about is not even there anymore and it is just as well because she was not the friendly type at all. She is supposed to have been nominated the Best of Philly for color, but I know someone who actually had her hair turned orange by her. Who votes on that stuff anyway?

This review is long overdue. Ive been going to Capelli Salon for years and its a fabulous place. I love Mario and all the people there, but Donna is my favorite stylist. Shes simply the best.A true artist, stylist, colorist, and make-up artist. She is creative and intuitive. She knows just what to do with my hair and gives me such a good cut it lasts forever, As my hair grows out, the cut still looks good. So, although I love the whole salon experience and seeing Donna just for the fun of it, the fact is, I dont go that often. But when I do need a cut, there is no other place Id go, and no other stylist as talented as Donna.

It was my first time visiting this place and i loved my experience! I came to fix my hair color after it was ruined by another salon, where instead of highlights a crazy lady bleached my whole hair and it was totally destroyed. I was lucky to be at Trinhs service. She listened well, fixed the color, and cut my hair exactly as I wanted! Im new to dyeing hair and frankly, i was really scared and even pessimistic to do it after my horrible experience. Im so happy i chose this place and now my hair looks beautiful again! Definitely coming back! Trinh was amazing and other people were very friendly during my visit.

Trinh is remarkable at what she does...I always leave Salon Capelli feeling great. And it has been this way for just about 12 years (for me). Ive never stuck with a stylist this long- and it will continue. Salon Capelli is about getting a great hair cut/color/style without the added unnecessary frills that you might find at other salons. No witchy receptionist or snobby stylist. Great people who are really skilled at what they do and give you your moneys worth. Its not smoke and mirrors and gushing compliments- its workmanship...its what counts. Ask for Trinh- you wont be sorry!

I only have two words "Miracle Stylist" Mario is truly the best for devacut and restoring your curls! I went to Capelli Salon with the expectations of seeing my curls a bit but BOY was I surprised when I saw what Mario was capable of doing!! He truly brought me back to LIFE!!!! You need to see him if you want to get your curls back and learn how to style your natural hair! Mario gave me detailed instructions of how to take care of my hair at home as well as styling tips!! Loved his enthusiasm, his charisma! overall great experience! Going back in a month to take my little sister!

Donna is an absolute fabulous hairdresser! Not only is she a highly trained professional, but she is also an artist and each of her customers leave with her unique and creative touch. I started with Donna in 1989 when she worked for Attitude and I have enthusiastically followed her to the current salon. Donna is one of those gifted and dedicated professionals that a person is fortunate to find. My response to frantzmurphy – You get what you pay for -$70 for a Donna haircut is exceptionally reasonable and fair in today’s economy.

Ask for Monique . . . The salon is lovely, but I go for Monique! I have been her client for 25 years and followed her to six different salons during that time. I have very fine, straight, limp hair, but you cant tell. Monique cuts it so that it not only looks like it has body, shape and movement, but it also is effortless for me to style. As if that werent enough, Monique is a fabulous colorist. When i mention to Im due to go in to have my color done, people cant believe my blond highlights arent natural.

I recently went to Salon Capelli for the first time, and I can honestly say I have found my new stylist in Philly!! I have very curly hair that requires a skilled hand to cut it properly. Mario is an absolute MAGICIAN and he did wonders for my hair! He gave me a perfect, summery cut, styled it so that my curls are bouncier and fuller than ever before, and walked me through the styling process so that I could recreate the look at home. My last time visiting this salon was my 3rd visit. However, this was Marios first time cutting my hair. Mario was wonderful! I LOVED how my Devacut came out. He was so nice and energetic. I dont let any other salon cut my hair!!! Mario you know Ill be back soon
