I walked into Saturn for the first time and I was absolutely charmed by the cute and intimate setting. Theres a complimentary tea bar for all customers, and very friendly staff. For some reason, I had not thought to ask for the price before my cut (!!) and I had Alice work on my hair. She was very friendly and she chatted lots. I told her to give me layers but to keep the length-- she took inches off of my hair and gave me a shaggy 80s look. Whats worse, she was so nice I didnt have the heart to tell her that I looked like a lion. The bill she wrote up for me was $40-- the most Ive ever paid for a haircut that looked so amateur, I was actually really surprised at how high the price was for such a lousy cut. Alice might have alot of experience cutting hair, but her approach to style is a bit outdated (by two decades). Im 19 and now I look like Im 50, and might I stress again, out of the 80s. Oh if only I could have kept my hair long, it was perfectly good the way it (once) was : (

The young lady at the front desk was nothing but wonderful - kind and accommodating. I visited Saturn around 3:40 looking for a last-minute trim, after eating lunch at The White Dog with my mother. We informed the ladies of our schedule - we needed to leave by 4:30 in order to catch a train. We were told someone would be available for a 4pm and that the haircut would last about 20 minutes. At 4:15 my mother and I decided to leave - the hairdresser who cuts hair quickly and whom we were told could accommodate us was running unapologetically late. Im sure this salon is a fine establishment. Again, the girl at the front desk was terrific. However, the hair dresser seemed to care less that she was running so late, and left us waiting for some time. Please, if you cannot accommodate someone, let them know honestly up front.

Im a newbie to the city and found Saturn Club via google. Do not let the few bad reviews frighten you. The receptionists are a little... acerbic but you would be too if you had to sit in their chair (or stool). I called and asked for a stylist with curly hair experience and I was put in the next day with Alice. Not only did Alice tame my hair (I have long, thick, curlywavy hair) but she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable, to trust her (I was skittish about getting my first real hair cut in months), and explained how to do everything she did. That and Alice blew out (for thick hair this is a big deal) my hair so the humidity wouldnt ruin it. My hair cut is amazing and I have some new product to use. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with my experience and Im going to tell everyone I can to go there.

I have been an active supporter of this salon over the last four years. I used to get my haircut there, but since Aveda opened there is no reason to pay $40+ (for a male cut). I also got my eyebrows waxed there all the time. I trusted the people and they could always squeeze me in. Over the past 1.5 years though it has gone down a steep hill.... FAST. The staff turned VERY unfriendly and I would sometimes wait 20+ minutes because they were behind schedule! Rude. I also felt that the waxer would rush through extremely fast and would literally burn/ rip the skin off near my brows. I was first told it was because my skin was dry, but recently changed places and they are barely red after its finished. I would NEVER EVER go back to Saturn Club... at least for waxing... because ouch... Im Burnt.

Should have read the reviews. This place is the most overpriced and critical hair salon Ive ever been to. I paid $40 dollars... for a male haircut. I literally have gotten a better haircut in a college dorm room. After my girlfriend recommended it to me she set up an appointment, oh and my girlfriend only paid $35 for hers! All I wanted was a quick trim and Darlene started telling me how to wear my hair and suggested for me to buy this product that she put in my hair after washing it. Seriously if I wanted to spike my hair I wouldnt have left the 6th grade... she only cut my hair to make me style it using the "forming cream" because she would get a 20% commission on product sales, as was stated on her desk. This place is only about money. I will never go back again.

Very disappointing, Ill never go back. Ive been going to this place for years, because its so convenient for me. Ive even switched stylists, to try to get a better cut. In all that time, Ive probably gotten one or two hair cuts I actually liked. This last bad haircut is the last straw. I told the stylist I just wanted a trim and she took inches off my hair. My hair looks awful--the layers are choppy--it just an amateur job. The environment is not nice either. The women who work there gossip about each other right in front of you--very unprofessional. Im really disappointed with Saturn. Ill never go back.

Everyone who has very curly hair knows that if you have a bad cut theres very little you can do to make it look good and not be impossible to deal with. Ive gone through dozens of hair dressers tring to find one that can properly cut curly hair. I found saturn club and Darlene last year and have never been so happy with a cut in my life. shes amazing. and so sweet. she teaches you as she cuts and its refreshing to hear someone who knows what their talking about. the salon has a great laid back atmosphere and everyone is so nice. If you have curly hair (or any type at all) ask for Darlene!

I have been coming to Saturn Club for years. I have curly hair so I dont trust just anyone to work with it. Alice came with great recommendations for curls and did not disappoint. With quite the resume, and experience, she knows what she is doing. She has also helped me over the years to pick out products that are best for my hair and my bank account. Every time we discuss a new product she takes the time to explain how I should use it so that I feel more confident in what I am doing. Great shop, great staff, and great service!

I came in just looking for a trim. In 18 quick minutes, my "stylist" managed to criticize me for not getting my hair cut more often, cut twice as much off my hair as I wanted and put in horrendous layers, and then try to flip it out even after I told her I prefer not to wear it that way. I didnt have time to voice my concerns before she had taken off my smock and told me to pay downstairs and then walked away. The hair-cut was only $40, but I would have spent twice as much to get a decent cut someplace else.

I normally do my own hair but this time I thought Id treat myself and have a professional cut it for me. I went to Saturn club and Im glad I did. Alice cut/shaped my hair up as it was started to grow into an unintentional mullet. I shall return for more services since I trust Alices expertise. (In the past I have gone to other salons and have had bad experiences with hair "professionals" who take it upon themselves to decide what to do with my hair after they agreed that they would do what I requested)
