Ive gone here for a couple of years without any issues. But the last 3 times Ive had some major problems with this car shop. First I came, my emissions light turned on in the car. It had otherwise been running just fine. I had them check it out and they said the emissions sensor had gone bad and they wanted to order a new sensor which would cost over $100. I told them I didnt want to do that right now. They said fine & I took the car home, no problem. Then the next time I came for an inspection and the car had needed (suddenly?) new fuel lines and brake lines. I really needed it to pass inspection, so I asked them the cost. They said $1500 minimum. Ouch. They also added that they didnt want to do the work. They recommended I just get a new car instead! I decided to get a second opinion. I had Kost tire check it out and they said the car needed only the brake lines for now, but the fuel lines would need to be fixed soon. They charged me $750. So I got my inspection and saved $750. To repeat, Dixon Auto did NOT WANT to do the work. I still felt in my heart that I trusted Dixon. So a few months later I came to them again for an oil change, check on possible new spark plugs, and a check on occasional stalling (which I suggested could just be water in the fuel since I recently switched gas stations). As I was waiting, they called me on the phone to tell me the cost will be $500!! What for, I asked (kindly). They said, the oil change would be $40, then spark plugs are $50 + $75 labor. Next they wanted to change some fuel plate part (I couldnt quite hear on the phone what this part was called), and a diagnostic test, all totalling $500. Then I said forget about the fuel part, I just want spark plugs and oil change. They quoted me at over $450!! Again, I asked WHY? They said the diagnostic test would be $285. They said they already did the diagnostic test to figure out what was wrong with the stalling. I said I NEVER AUTHORIZED any charge to do any work on my car. I didnt need any fancy diagnostic test. Then he got really angry and said he would change my oil and that was all and to never come back again!! I could not believe this guy (who is the owner, I should add). Right after I received my car back, paid for the oil change, I checked my oil and it seemed dirty. Im not sure if they actually even changed my oil. Needless to say, I will not be going back, and this guy just wants to rip people off and sell parts and services that are WAY overpriced and not even necessary. Then he gets ANGRY when people ask questions or tell him they want to hold off on the pricey repairs. Completely ridiculous service!

This place quoted my $45 to press on a new axle bearing which I was fine with. I was under the understanding that the $45 was for labor and parts would be extra. Well, they charged $90 for a bearing and seal. I know for a fact that the bearing they used to replace mine is the cheapest on the market and cost $12 at AutoZone and the seal is $4. So yea it has a nice waiting room but when it comes down to it, they really rip you off.

The people at this location are very rude and condescending. This includes the woman who answers the phone and the owner who barely can be bothered to talk on the phone. They act like they are annoyed by their customers and they are doing you a favor by talking to you. I also do not trust their mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

Great experience with Dixon. Todd is great and everyone that works there is nice. I live out of state now and needed a quick turnaround on my repair. They kept me updated the whole time and had my repair done right on time.

I have gotten all my cars fixed at Dixon auto. I have always had a great experience. The lobby is very relaxing if you have to wait. The pricing is very fair and the work is done on time. I recommend it highly.
