I had the incredible misfortune of buying a poorly rehabbed house in South Philly. The HVAC was a total mess. The first summer I had the house their team did a great job troubleshooting the very deep issues with my central air system. Were talking not working at all. They did excellent work and got me through the summer. However the work they did for me prior to this summer is the main subject of this review. My newly installed central HVAC was horrible. The third floor was always way too warm (summer or winter.) Half of the second floor was always the wrong temperature and the other half was far too much in the desired direction, ie too warm in the winter and too cold in the summer. Last summer I had to install window units in the bedrooms in order to sleep. My total electric bill was almost 500 dollars on average. I knew something had to be done, so called them for a routine service visit. After reviewing the situation, they sent out their senior resource to fully assess the situation. The entire system from the ducts, to the return to the actual equipment installed was all poor. We talked about the major work: running a new air return from the basement all the way to the third floor, installing brand new duct work in the basement and installing dampers. This would be combined with new two speed ac and heating units. I saw the cost and for a moment I thought, should I really do this? I had put my trust in this crew previously and they had never failed me. So I signed the statement of work. The crew was fast, efficient, friendly and courteous. They knew I already had an EcoBee3, so despite not normally installing them, they installed two of them for my new floors. It was a little bit cool when they finished the work but it got warm the following week. I cant fully explain how amazing it was. My three story row home was the same (or whatever temperature I wanted) on three floors, without multiple HVAC units! It was 95 degrees and my AC unit was actually turning off! This was almost 5 weeks ago. I had to wait that long so I could speak to the difference in bills: my electric bill was cut in half. Not only that but I had a system with a 12 year parts and labor warranty. Its pretty simple, dont trust your home with anyone but Joseph Giannone.

My service professional, Rubin Espinoza was an excellent technician who provided great customer service and technical repair when our air conditioner broke during a power surge in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia last week. Rubin was friendly, helpful and resourceful with addressing the air conditioning problem that I was having and even went the extra mile by helping remove some of the plant life that had blocked the access to the air conditioner. Additionally, Rubin made suggestions and recommendations that were specific to my area of Philadelphia and my specific account that were extremely helpful to me. Furthermore, Rubin advised the best way to keep my unit in top performance was to continue my annual inspections and make sure to change the filter regularly. It was my pleasure to work with Rubin and with Joseph Giannone Plumbing, Heating and Cooling! I would also like to add that I recommended my Joseph Giannone to a friend and they offered a $55 discount for myself and my friend who received excellent services from Steve S.on a plumbing installation of a shut off valuve for their home in Manayunk, PA. Steve was friendly, informative and professional and explained how he installed the shut off valve and provided information around the other plumbing set up in the home as well as opportunities to get greater efficiency and steps to take to achieve greater plumbing efficiency. It was a pleasure working with Steve S and with Joseph Giannone and I would highly recommend this company and both technicians Rubin E and Steve S since they provided excellent customer service with top notch technical expertise. Thank you Joseph Giannone Plumbing, Heating and Cooling!!!

Joseph Giannone and his team have now revamped my entire HVAC system. I bought a house on foreclosure two years ago and the ducting was blowing hot air straight into the basement leaving the rest of the house cold. After obtaining several estimates, I had Joe and his team come in and fix up the duct work last winter (2012). This year I decided to replace my old furnace and get central air conditioning installed. I didnt even waste my time calling other technicians because having gone through it a year ago I already knew that Joe was the best guy for the job. Joe is friendly and honest and has a very knowledgeable team of people working with him. For this AC install, we had Mike Hopkins and Bill Craig. These are two of the most professional guys I have met and they exceeded my expectations on every front. I let them in my house in the mornings of the two-day install (they arrived promptly between 8AM and 8:15AM each day) and then left for work for the day. They treated my house like their own, checked in at the end of the day, and never left me feeling uncomfortable. Even my dog was excited to see them on day two of the job. Mike and Bill went above and beyond and fixed existing issues that had nothing to do with the job they were assigned to do. We even had a misunderstanding with regard to the placement of the AC unit and Mike and Bill just went about their business to get it how I wanted it with true professionalism. I highly recommend Joe Giannone for any of your HVAC needs and cant say enough about Mike and Bill. Thanks so much! TK & NK

Giannone Plumbing charges $89.00 for an estimate. If you agree to have the work performed, they state the $89.00 will be applied to the cost of the total job. RED FLAGS: The estimate was done on a tablet and I was told I could not be given a hard copy. I also was told that I could not be given a receipt for the $89.00 I paid for the estimate (both of these documents did NOT contain the name, address and phone number of the company.) I then requested that both the estimate and my paid receipt be emailed to me. After waiting a few days and still not having received them, I called the office. I was told that the plumber did not send it because he "does not know how to send emails."! I asked the plumber questions about what he thought the various problems were, what materials would be used to correct them, how soon could the job be performed, and the responses I received were either no response or very vague. Additionally, when I finally received the email containing the estimate and receipt for payment of estimate, the description of the work to be performed and the dollar figures were illegible. Moreover, the estimate contained a description and charges for repair and maintenance to my house heater -- which I did not request. When I googled them, they have various sites; one which states: "we are not affiliated with this company and its location." I since have contacted 2 other plumbers -- both of which provided estimates for the same work at half the price that Giannone quoted me. Needless to say, I will NOT be contacting them to do the job.
