Tom Knox was recommended to me by a friend when I picked up a nail in one of my tires. Being a student at the college, I was cut off from my usual mechanic and resources of home, and contrary to popular belief, do not have wads of cash to throw around at car repairs. What easily could have been a few hundred dollars for two new tires and a rotation ended up being a $15 plug. They even removed my spare and put the repaired tire on at no cost to me, and after hours at that (I arrived just before closing). It was like traveling back in time 60 years or so. Like the previous reviewer, Id rather have gruff mechanics who dont try to con me into spending much more money than necessary than advanced customer service and ridiculous fees.

I have used this garage for over two years since I moved to Gettysburg and they are nothing but professionals. They tell me exactly whats wrong, what should be done, and what my options are. They never, I mean never try to sell me something extra, nor have they ever been underhanded with me in any way. They back up their work, they are quick, and everything they do is quality work As far as being rude, I disagree with the other reviewer. They are mechanics and may be a little gruff, but they have never been rude. If youre that sensitive, perhaps you should go to another shop where they will talk nice and then take more money from you. As for me, I go with the gruff guys who do honest work.

As a single middle-age woman we are fish bait for scams from auto mechanics. This fellow is totally honest, fit me in when I forgot to get me car inspect yet again till the last minute, and never tried to upsale me. He came highly recommended by other women, in the burg, so ignore the rude comments posted here.. Total quality and great experience.

As a person who that knows the place very well. I have worked there since 1983, I must say that it is no longer as fun as it was, ! myself and my brothetr work are asses OFF FOR PERANUTS! but we still love all our coustomers ! Wont be back. Had an appointment and car sat for another 2 days later before being looked at. They then read the codes in parking lot and told me they didnt know what was wrong. Sucked because I had to have it towed again. Turned out to be a fuel pump.
