This is not a critique of the people. My hair person was very pleasant to talk to. However, this place does not look like some place youd spend $40 for a simple cut. Thats $10 less than I used to spend in Center City for a cut with someone whos done hair for movies and photo shoots.Very unwelcoming visually. There was hair all over the floor, unframed mirrors and so on. My shampooer asked if I wanted conditioning, which is not something Ive been asked before. Usually theres a policy about it so that the hair dresser has the best chance of working with the hair, right? Also didnt get all the soap off my face. Then the hair cut. I asked for a pretty simple thing--didnt even bring a picture, it was so basic. a few layers for shape, swept bangs, shoulder length. I said briefly that I have hair that acts a certain way and the hairdresser said "got it, I have curly hair, too" and so I let it go, thinking she must know! Well, the cut I got even she couldnt blow out to make it look good. Letting my natural hair take over, its obvious that its an asymmetrical cut with some pieces unintentionally different lengths and absolutely no chance of shaping it. Also, they dont take cards, but will let you send a check? No ATM on premises either, so go prepared with cash or check, if you go! And a picture! UPDATE: I got a nice call from the owner who explained that the condition I saw the salon was not normal, that they were experiencing unexpected call outs, so that should be remedied. Like I said, very pleasant people (who, I should also add for clarity refunded my money which was very professional of them), just a really bad cut in my view.

This salon is the best salon I have ever been to in my life. Everyone there is so down-to-earth and hospitable. They take my coat, ask me if I want something to drink before we get started or something to read. What really makes this place outstanding is that all stylists know the latest fashion and are willing to listen to you on how you wish your hair to be colored, cut or an updo. Sue is my personal stylist and I love that she offers suggestions after listening to what I wish to be done with my hair. Her suggestions are always on point and my hair looks healthier than what I would have went with. She also showed me how to tease my hair since its so fine and falls flat. I have been going there for 7 years and would never go anywhere else, because the end results always amazes me. They fit me in when I call last minute for an updo for a wedding. I just love David and his son, were like one big family! I cannot say enough about Ann, who works the front desk, she pays attention to detail and puts me in with Sue or another stylist if I need to get in for a special occasion. Everyone there is truly awesome and I thank each and every one of them for their service.

I have been a client of David Arnold Salon for many years and am always pleased with the result and look forward to each visit to catch up with Jason, David and the rest of the friendly salon staff! When I moved to Philadelphia, I was very tentative to find a new hair stylist as I have very fine naturally curly hair that I style both curly and straight. My layers and angles are always cut perfectly with little direction provided by me to the stylists. The salon was recommended to me by a friend and I have since recommended it to other friends and family who are now regular clients. I have since moved more than an hour away, and still drive in for Saturday appointments. Highly Recommend!! Go meet David Arnold Salon!
