We have settled on Richards as the place to take get all of our automotive service work done. Our vehicles are a Jeep Grand Cherokee, BMW 3 series and an Acura MDX. They are between 14 and 6 years old, and all at the point where various things come up that require a professional mechanic. Richards was recommended to us by a local Kennett Square art gallery owner when we moved into the area a few years back. The range of service work we have gotten done at Richards includes state inspection, oil change, wheel alignment, oil pressure sensor replacement, fixing leaks, wheel alignment, new tires, bent rim straighted, new brakes & rotors as well as tune-ups. I initially used to call around to several places to price out the service work, as we had a bad prior experience with getting overcharged at a different garage in Unionville. Every time Richards was either equal or lower in price than the other garges I contacted. A specific recent example from October 2011 is the new brakes that I needed for the BMW; going with Richards was several hundred dollars cheaper than his competition just a half mile away. Aside from price I like the flexibility they have shown to accomodate our needs. As I work during the week, I like that I can go to Richards early on Saturday to drop off a vehicle and generally get it back same day. On one occassion none of the local automotive supply places stocked the part that was needed for my Jeep. However, since Richard had committed to me that he would get the service work done same day, at no charge to me he sent one of his mechanics on a 90 minute round trip drive into Delaware to pick up the part!

I thank my lucky stars the day I found Richards! I have an unusual vehicle - a 3500 Express Chevy Van with four wheel drive with a ton of rust. Richard took my very used but loved vehicle and fixed the rust and made it so I am confident to drive it. And this was done at a very reasonable price. I have so much confidence in him. I know he and his staff know their business very well, and they treat me fairly and care enough to follow up and make sure everything is fine. What a gem! I highly recommend Richards!!

Our family has been going to Richards for over 10 years, and we refuse to go anywhere else. Prices are always fair, the work is always done perfectly, and hes one of the funniest/nicest guys in the world. His staff is wonderful as well. All of them are very welcoming and very forthcoming with information anytime something needs to be fixed. Best of all, theyre all very honest. They dont replace parts when they dont need to be replaced. Its always a treat paying them a visit. I highly recommend them!

Great mechanics here, took my car to another shop 3 tubes to fix an issue, they never found any problem. Richards going out on the first try. They also have fair pricing. Ill be taking my cars here fit the foreseeable future.
