We recently looked into getting a dehumidifier installed in our home. Like many others probably do, we called several local businesses to provide estimates to get the best price. Setting up the appointment was easy enough and the employee who came out was very friendly and personable. After speaking with the rep, I had some concerns. One was the pricing which seemed to be very high. The unit itself (not including labor) was quoted around $2900. I found the same unit online from an HVAC distributor for $1,200. I asked about the cost of labor if I would provide the unit which would save me about $1700. I was told that the company could not do the work if I supplied the same unit myself. Obviously I would not pay an additional $1700 for the same exact thing. To us it kind of seemed like price gouging. Id understand a couple hundred dollar difference but not almost two thousand. Due to this, we gave our business to another local company who provided a quote based on their complete supply and install of a unit along with a quote for installing a customer supplied unit. In the end, it made the difference in where we spent our money. We never used UGI HVAC services before but based on our experience, wed probably look elsewhere.

We have been using UGI Heating, Cooling and Plumbing as the service provider for all of repairs and servicing of our home’s systems for as long as I can remember. They are always very professional and have been able to repair any problem. A little over a year ago we decided that it was time to purchase a Service Plan for our furnace, air conditioner and water heater. The cost was very reasonable, about $200 for the year, which covers the parts and labor for the repairs. Well this year we had a problem when my husband was out of town. I called UGI Heating, Cooling and Plumbing and they arrived in about 2-1/2 hours. The repairman replaced the exhaust fan and cleaned the burners in a little more than a 1-1/2 hours he was finished. He gave me a copy of the service invoice and explained the repairs he had made. We were pleased to see that the repairs were FREE covered by UGIs service plan, saving us $848. Thank you UGI. I called and made an appointment for Tuesday between 12 and 5. I missed the call from the tech, called back 10 minutes later and spoke with a very rude customer service rep and was told they would put me back on the schedule for the same time slot. I waited until 6 and didnt receive any call or notification from UGI. Called back again and was once again treated very poorly. Do yourself a favor, use another Heating and Cooling company. Very Unreliable. Ill admit its many years since I worked a strict Monday to Friday, and have lost touch of the weekend mindset. But if you do not want to work Sundays, then dont pitch yourself as a 24x7 service provider. Dont complain when people call you at the weekends. Better yet, just dont pick up the phone. But most of all, dont let people down. Dont leave them without heat in the middle of winter.

I got three quotes for some duct work and they came in half of another company and 300 dollars less then the third. I will definitely use them in the future.
