This company came highly recommended by a family member, but Five Star Plumbing did not complete the job as promised. I had to have the water service line that runs from the water main to my house replaced. One of the main reasons I choose this company was that they used a trench-less system to limit digging in the yard. They also advised that in areas where they have to dig they remove the top layer of grass, set it aside and replace it once the hole is filled in. In their words...."you can barely even tell we we here, I mean you can tell, but it is barely noticeable". They made zero attempt to preserve the grass and to make things worse did a horrible job back filling the holes. Zero attempt was made to make it look presentable. I know the ground has to be built up to allow for settling, but it was apparent this crew did not care how they left the job site. There was dirt everywhere. The following day I called Chris (who came to the house and wrote the estimate and described the job) to advise his crew did an awful job of preserving my lawn and their back filling looked horrible. This was a Friday afternoon and Chris said he would swing by on Monday. I asked that he call my cell and we arrange a time to meet on Monday as I wanted to discuss face to face. Chris never returned my call, never showed up on Monday and Ive never heard back from them. For $2000+ I expected a lot better service. I gave them 2 stars as they did replace the water line and it has functioned properly, but I would assume all plumbers should be capable of this. Be warned, you pay full price for a partial job. I understand that things go wrong in business, but it says a lot about a company in the way they handle issues. As Ive worked this spring to correct their mess I have also found two 6"-12" pieces of pipe left behind in the dirt. Im sure they would be just as unresponsive when the pipe scraps ruin my mower. Sloppy, amateur job all the way around. Eric Leach

Fantastic job by Chris and his team at Five Star Plumbing for replacing the polybutylene pipe outside of my home. The pipe had a leak somewhere before entering the house showing no other signs but an extremely high water bill. Chris provided a clear understanding of what the project would entail and an accurate estimate with a worse case option. He also explained the qualities of the cross linked polyethelene pipe used for replacement and why he recommended it. As I wasnt sure of the material, a little research solidified confidence in his recommendation. His confidence in the ability to do the job successfully was also a factor in getting the contract. Other competitors were not as knowledgeable in their product recommendation. Chris said to expect at least one long day or more for completion. Both myself and Chris were extremely pleased when they were done in about 4.5 hours including repairing the two holes dug making the work barely noticeable. Price was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend Five Star.

I felt ripped off once the job was complete. I had a washer hose that was stuck and leaking. The guy did remove the hose but it was replaced with another hose that came with my machine and I was still charged 239.00. This was a scheduled appointment during the week and not an emergency call. The price was outrageous for 30 minutes of work. When I called the office about their pricing I received no good answers. I was told they charge by the job and not the hour in order to save their customers money. If I was charged 239.00 to replace a hose I am scared to see what I would be charged if I had a big plumbing issue. This is a lesson learned for me and I caution anyone using their services to be clear on the pricing (no matter how small the job) to avoid the shock and anger I felt once it was complete.

My failing hot water heater came from Home Depot and the heater itself was covered under warranty. Their contractor wanted $450 to replace it for labor delivery and removal. They came out and said that they could not do the job because they had to lift the empty hot water heater out. I picked up the new water heater from Home Depot and called 5 Star, they were the only ones who answered, spoke to Portia at the office who was very friendly, and they were out here within 18 hours of the call which was not an emergency. Excellent service, no issues with the install, very professional and they were cheaper! They also removed the old heater. Highly recommeded

Chris came this morning to see about a laundry room issue and an exterior spigot. Wore booties in the house over his work shoes, was very careful to explain the issues going on. Took one look at the laundry room issue and advised re-routing the laundry drain thru the standpipe (instead of the sanitary tub) to keep it sealed - the water had evaporated and caused a periodic smell. Installed a new frost-free hose bib on the exterior. Very thorough and knows what he is doing. Could even read his handwriting on the service form. Price was very reasonable. A+

Just had my polybutylene pipes removed and replaced by Five Star, and they did an outstanding job with a very reasonable price. They were extremely polite, clean, showed up when they said they would, and got the job done in a day. Chris is very knowledgable and didnt mind explaining how things work to me. And in between doing all of this, Chris replaced a sink/faucet and drain/trap, and provided me with a new faucet without charge since the prior one was defunct. They helped me resolve all of my plumbing issues in one day! Im very pleased.

I called them at 8am on a Monday Morning due to an issue that happened over the weekend. Not only did they answer the phone but were able to give me a reliable time frame for arrival. He said he would be there between noon and 2pm and he showed up at 1pm. He was fast and courteous and had the job completed quite quickly. I will definitely call him next time I have a need.

A lifesaver during a very bad time to have plumbing problems! After a storm of this size, it meant a lot to me that these guys could fit me into the schedule on such short notice and stop a small (but potentially serious) problem from becoming a whole lot worse. THANK YOU!
