I came to Lock Haven for college in fall of 2013 and was in need of a new place to tan and have my hair and eyebrows done. I came here and for about a year and I really liked it. Until this one night... They require goggles for tanning and they had an option to borrow a pair every time you tan to avoid buying a pair, so I did. There was a sign in/out sheet where you were supposed to write what time you took the goggles and what time you put them back. One time, I was in a hurry and forgot to write what time I put the goggles back. The next time I came in to tan, the lady at the front desk (who is the owners daughter) said that I was not allowed to borrow a pair of goggles because I "probably" stole the last pair I borrowed. I was appalled. I dont like being disrespected as a customer. You cant tan without a pair of goggles and I didnt have any cash on me to buy a pair (cant use a card unless you spend at least $10), so I just left and never returned. If I had stolen the goggles in the first place, I probably would not have needed to borrow a pair. I never returned because I was too embarrassed. They lost a loyal customer.

Tropical Tanning & Beauty Salon is the best place in this area to get your hair done. Tiffany, a stylist at the salon, has done my hair for over 4 years now and I have followed her to numerous salons. I dont trust anyone else touching my hair. I have gotten blonde highlights for over 4 years and my hair still looks extremely healthy. Tiffany always knows the perfect style and haircut for her clients. I have never been dissatisfied with her service. Tiffany and Siearra have both done beautiful formal updos for me as well. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is so friendly. They offer the least expensive tanning packages I know. If you are in search of a new salon or place to tan, stop in or call Tropical Tanning & Beauty Salon today!

Its taken me a long time to find someone who Im fully comfortable with cutting and coloring my hair. Most of my salon experiences are mediocre, I leave disappointed and throw my hair in a bun and cry about it. Ive gotten used to disappointing haircuts, and mediocre talent at high prices. When I book my appointments at tropical tanning salon with Siearra I hang up the phone confident and looking forward to going in. Im at the point where I could even go in and sit down and just ask her to do what she thinks would good. They have affordable prices, but on top of that theyre always running great deals. Everyone there is very talented, and its a pleasant atmosphere.

While I agree that the staff are very friendy, I would not recommend hair coloring services. I had a foil done not long ago. The stylist was extremely nice and very likeable and I must admit that I was a "walk in" and she took time to fit me into her schedule, which I greatly appreciated, but the foil was just a complete mess. At the end of the service, she did not even want to dry or style my hair at all and when I got home I looked like a witch. My hair had no blond highlights!!! I had white highlights!!! I had to run out to buy hair coloring to cover up the mess. Not to mention, it was well over one hundred dollars.

I think people never give enough credit to hair styles! Everytime Ive ever been in Tropical Tanning it has been completely packed and I was still always made to feel like I was a priority! They are on their feet all day long/ running around pleasing everyone.They are always so kind and wonderful to talk to.! Everytime I go in I interact with Sierra she knows what bed I like and even Everytime Im there ask me about my children! Very respectful/clean business and I will forever continue my services there. Businesss in lock haven come and go but they have been here for years! They are incredible❤

Tropical Tanning and Beauty Salon is the best salon in the Lock Haven area. I have been going here for years. Ive even tried other salons and they dont even compare. Prices for both hair and tanning are very affordable. All of the stylists at the salon are very friendly and helpful. Siearra is my hair stylist and she always does a wonderful job. If you are looking for an updo or a new hair color or style definitely choose Siearra, she does amazing work! If you are considering tanning at the salon, their beds are always very clean and the room are neat and organized!

Hi had cuts and highlights done by Desiree at the salon a few times. I also tanned there through her. Desi listened to what I wanted done each time. She was very busy and had other clients waiting. Each time she took great care in treating me like a person instead of a profit. I left with the style, color and cut I wanted. She not only paid attention to me but those waiting, and those getting tans. She goes above and beyond expectations! I may be related to her, but she was very professional and treated me like other clients. Best salon in lock haven!

Truly wonderful place. I needed my hair colored last minute and Des was able to fit me in within an hour. She was incredibly patient when my hair took for forever to color because of how thick it is and even ended up staying late to finish it. Not only was she patient with me, but also with my 7 year old daughter I had with me. She was incredibly sweet to her. My hair looks fabulous. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!! Their prices are also very reasonable.

Ive been into Tropical salon a couple times now And absolutely love it. The owner is such a friendly, inspirational person. Shes someone you can go into and talk with for hours. Desi is amazing at haircuts and ombrays. Shes done three of my sorority sisters hair now and its turned out amazing every time. Hands down best place in town.

Ive gotten my hair done at tropical for the past 6 years and I am never disappointed! Siearra is a great hair stylist and I always LOVE what she does with my hair. She will tell you her opinion/ideas and make sure you never look ridiculous! Great place with great people! Highly recommend!!

I had only one experience at Tropical tanning. Des cut, colored, and styled my hair. She knew I was nervous (due to previous experiences at other salons) but made me feel great and right at home! The environment is very relaxing and laid back. My overall experience was a 10!!
