I am the franchisee at Midas and this is our response to the review written by Jesse Biretz. Mr. Biretz brought his Lincoln SUV to us on December 13th for a safety and emissions inspection. The emissions inspection passed but there were the following issues with regards to the safety inspection. 1) The front brake pads were separating. This violates section 175.80 (7)(iv) of the inspection regulations. 2) The front rotors had excessive rust. This violates bulletin BI111 May 2011 of the inspection regulations. 3) The left rear brake pads were at 3/32 and the right rear brake pads were at 6/32. This indicated that the left rear caliper is sticking causing the brake pads to wear unevenly. This violates section 175.80 (7)(iii) of the inspection regulations. Mr. Biretz chose to take his car and perform the repairs himself. He is certainly allowed to do this. We reviewed the necessary repairs with him twice. He brought the vehicle back for us to re-inspect on December 28th. He would not allow us to re-inspect the vehicle but wanted us to put a sticker on it based on pictures he took on his phone. He stated he looked at the brakes and thought they were fine. He stated he was an unemployed inspection mechanic so he could not sticker it himself. He also stated that his friend at the local Mercedes dealer would have passed the brakes. We offered 5 or 6 times to bring the vehicle in, disassemble it and review the items in person with Mr. Biretz. He refused every time. We do not make the inspection regulations for Pennsylvania but as an official inspection station we are compelled to follow them. The vehicle must conform to these regulations. Mr. Biretzs did not. We stand behind our findings and would still be happy to review the items with the customer.

While it was my sons car that was serviced (he will attest to the great experience himself), I stopped in to meet the staff when dropping off my son to pick up his car. When we arrived, Pete L. was waiting for us...you see, my son mistakenly thought the shop was open after 6 pm and we went out for dinner prior to getting his car. Pete was personable, friendly and professional. He presented to my son what had been accomplished during this visit...you see, his car needed several visits, and Team Midas was accommodating to my sons schedule and wallet. (Yes, we KNEW there was a lot of work that needed to be done prior to even taking the car to Team Midas.) Just based on what my son has told me of his Midas experience, and my initial meeting with Pete, I am confident to recommend Midas of Mechanicsburg to my friends. My daughter will be visiting over the holidays, and I plan to make an appointment for her car. It is good to know that 4904 Carlisle Pike is occupied by the capable hands (and knowledge/expertise) of the new manager and his team!

In the past 3 months, Ive had a head gasket job done (a huge 2-day job that my former go-to shop said would take them 4 days), an AC leak repaired and AC recharge, and a pulley that broke my water pump. Mike (the owner) drove me to my job so I didnt have to miss any work. Management has changed recently and drastically at Midas, so if youve had a less-than-stellar experience there before, give them another shot. Mike, Keith, and Jeremy will make sure you are taken care of! They will get you an estimate on any job and arrange to do the work timely. I am glad to have finally found a place where I trust the people taking care of my car, and Id recommend Midas Mechanicsburg to anyone - especially women who are tired of feeling taken advantage of when it comes to car repair. I dont know the guys who are actually doing the work, but they all have my trust - and my business.

I like Midas, but this location has turned into a bunch of used car salesman. My car was just serviced by a family mechanic within the past three weeks. Ive been during here for over an hour now because they are trying to tell me that I need $1500 with of work done. They even offered to give me $10 off if I do it right now, ha. Furthermore, I have come here religiously to get my oil changed...but lately they are so "busy" they cant fit me in. Customer appreciation earns customer loyalty. Maybe if they spent less time taking average of people, they would be able to take better care of their customers. Sorry guys...this is the last time.

Needed some last minute work to replace struts on my daughters vehicle before she headed away for a long weekend, and the guys at Midas Mechanicsburg made it work. Even though the parts arrived late in the PM, and the store closed at 6, the guys worked until 8PM to get the job done and our daughter could leave the following morning for her trip.....and the guys seemed happy to help us even though they worked the extra two hours to get it done. Thanks to the team at Midas Mechanicsburg, we could relax knowing our daughter had a safe vehicle for her trip.

Went and got my tires rotated and oil changed. Not even a month later my tire flew off. Luckily I was going slow enough that I would not have flipped. But the fact being is that they did not tighten my lug nuts back on. They were rattling. They did things that they should not have done while getting my oil changed and tires rotated, but I was not expecting them to take off my drums to see my brakes...well they made my brake shoe fall off somehow while doing that. I guess I know never to go there again!!

Recently, both my wife and I went to this Midas for service. Mike and Pete were beyond helpful, thorough, and honest in every aspect of the experience - from initial estimates, to the inspection, to the actual services needed. I have never been more pleased with a mechanic, and have never had a more positive experience than I did with these guys! Thanks again Mike and Pete for all of your help! Also, they were extremely personable and friendly - made passing the wait time all the more enjoyable!

In June, I took my car over to Midas with muffler issues. I was very nervous because the potential price for a new muffler can cost well over $1000. Surprisingly they said that they just needed to replace one part and could weld everything back together, the price, $160. I was ecstatic!!! The day came for me to make the appt. As I went to look up the phone number, I noticed they had 1 review, a very negative one. Well I was very pleased. Car fixed for less money than quoted, awesome!!!

I brought in my car for annual inspection. The technician was very thorough in all aspect of the inspection. He discovered a broken coil spring which would have remained hidden had he not looked beyond the obvious. The manager and crew were very friendly, knowledgeable and above all honest. The manager/owner gave me a courtesy ride home while my car was being serviced. I think I just found a family auto mechanic I can trust. - M C. Mechanicsburg, PA

Extremely blunt and rude customer service. My AC wasnt working and they said Id have to spend $180 on it to charge it and have a chance of fixing it. I asked so if the problem isnt that it needs charged I would have spent $180 on nothing and he bluntly replies with yes. Glad I went elsewhere. Dans Auto found the real problem for $20 so I didnt have to take a chance like this awful place suggested. Rip off artists.
