I used to use the Home Town Auto in Conshohocken and never had a bad experience. I moved to Jeffersonville and was excited that there was a Home Town Auto around the corner from me. Recently, when I had a problem with my car I called them and the gentleman told me it sounded like I might need a new transmission in which case I would be better off taking it to the dealer. I asked them to look at it first which they did. They called and told me the problem was my transmission. I took it to the dealer, rented a car for three days and found out that it was two sensors that needed replacing. I could have had it done on Friday at Home Town Auto and not had the expense of renting a car. Obviously, they didnt really check the car out. I wont trust the Jeffersonville branch with my car again.

Took my car in to get an oil change. For some reason, an oil change requires a 20 minute joyride of flooring the car, whipping around corners, flying over bumps and potholes with zero regard to the owner. They didnt even ask my permission if they could drive it. They literally just got in and went for a joyride. At least with a valet service you are voluntarily giving them your keys to drive your car. I gave Hometown Auto my keys to drive my car into the garage for an oil change and drive it back out...that was it. The mechanic comes back in and tells me that the engine is "loud as hell". They also use cheap aftermarket parts found in the junkyard and charge you the same amount of money that a dealership would. This place is awful. Im never going back here again.

When my old mechanic retired, Hometown was recommended to me for state inspections. They have been honest and straight-forward, and their prices are very reasonable. I now take all my vehicles there. What I like is that instead of telling me they can do "everything", and then sending my car out somewhere else, they are up-front about when Id be better off going to a specialist.

Do not use them, they are a rip-off. Theyre only out for your money. Told me I needed new brakes (front and rear) and new rotors. I had them all replaced less than 20K miles ago (Brembo rotors). Since I didnt buy their brakes, they failed the cars state inspection. I checked the brake pads myself and there at 6mm, which is good shape and passing.
