I would never visit this place again. They literally ripped me off. I have a 2004 Honda accord, and I went there for a state inspection and emission test. They told me they would not pass the inspection unless I change the Brake pads, power steering fluid etc etc, and charged me a total of 1100$. I still said yes, ok.. you can change it. But my car had nothing wrong. It was running fine, no issues. When they took it in for a change, they said it would be done by afternoon. So we decided to wait. Then they come back saying, that afternoon lasted till the evening. At around 8PM, a technician came back saying, we broke a part, and that wont be available till tomorrow. And we had only one car, we asked him if he could put it back somehow, so that we can go home and come back tomorrow. He said no, but after a lot of begging, he said yes, but it wont be safe. We agreed and came home somehow. Next day, we went there, and it was again a 3hr wait, as they didnt have a technician left. Atleast, thats what they told me. I finally had my car, after 3hrs, waiting without even having food. After 3months, my car started having weird problems. My starter failed, leak from oil compartment, heated seats didnt work correctly. Eventually, i had to even spend more on that car, but this time, i took it to a local garage.. Pepboys, Never again in my life.

I took my 370z in for an oil change. Usually i dont go to these places but do to schedule i had to take it here for convenience at the time. All oil changes from any type of store always gives a courtesy check up on your vehicle such as checking tire pressure; washer fluid; brake fluid; power steering; grease on joints; etc. None of that was done. Recommendation on my car is 5w30 synthetic. even the oil cap is labeled but instead 5w20 was placed in. Theyre not careful with your interior. if you have dirty gloves and/or dirty uniform on. should change your gloves, cover the seats, and put paper mat down since they step on grease and what not. I have cream interior and now i have to clean this mess up. i could probably complain but i just dont want to deal with that service. dont know what else theyll do to get back at ya if you were to come in and complain.

DONE with Pep-Boys in Montgomeryville !!!! I go in to get a headlight for a 2009 VW Jetta Sportwagen, I go to the headlight isle, and the headlight search tool at the shelf unit "didnt work" so the cocky kid at the parts counter says "oh yeh that doesnt work, I can look up what bulb it is".... So I tell him, its for a 2009 VW Jetta Sportwagen.... He then goes and gets the bulb and hands it to me, I ask him again, "are you sure its the right bulb for a 2009 VW Jetta Sportwagen ?" hes says "yes I just looked it up, it has to be right" ..... So this morning I go to change the bulb, and yes you guessed it, WRONG friggen bulb !!!! How hard is it to just do your friggen job !!! DONE with PEP-BOYS... All the staff there does all time is argue with each other, they complain when then have to help someone, just overall lousy customer service...

I typically have my cars serviced at the dealership. I know this is a little more expensive, but cost is not always my motivating factor. I bright my car here because I had just paid to have our 2 other cars serviced and I was looking to save a few bucks. As far as I can tell, the only real positive is that their open hours are significantly better than the dealership. There was not a big savings over the dealership - less than 10% I think. They advertised prices that were awesome, unfortunately they were not base in realuty. I had them change to oil and they failed to turn off the warning light. If cost is your motivating factor, they will be less than the dealership, but that is not my only consideration, so it is unlikely that I will be back here.

I have had consistently bad experience at North Wales location. Last year, they made me change my radiator ($600 total charge) for a problem that was not pertaining it. Recently, I wanted to change my brake pads and they told me that my calipers were locked which would cost me additional $350 over and above the $250 brake job (quoted total $550). When I took it to another mechanic for second opinion, he had no problems with getting the calipers off and the whole brake job cost me under $150. Obviously the mechanics are inept and have no real understanding of cars besides the basic stuff like oil changes and tire rotation. I would strongly urge anyone using their services to get a second opinion on all major repairs. .

After I had confirmed my appointment with them, and told them what I needed. I was told that they couldnt do it the same day and it had to b the next. So I waited to the next day, called them to confirm my appointment, and they had no idea what I was coming in for. Also the information that the lady had given me was wrong. And also he informs me that they dont do welding for a muffler ,and that they just clamp. I cant have it clamped its for inspection, clamped will cause it to have a exhaust leak, which means I will fail. The guy told me sorry for the wrong information and thats that. How is this acceptable??? They have to learn to train their employees better, and not give out wrong information.

I went to change my battery, my car would not start without a jump start occasionally. Pep Boys also suggested to do an alternator check. Identified that not only the battery was bad, but also the alternator was showing a ripple. Comments that vehicle requires alternator, battery will be drained again and will have to replaced at the customers expense. Total estimated cost = $467+ ($500+ with an oil change) I only changed the battery and walk-out to get a second opinion. The next garage checked my alternator for free! Nothing wrong with it!! Car is working great so far, I will remove this review or add a better one if within next 60 days my alternator fails!!

Let me say this, until I heavily begrudgingly walked in to this pep boys, I hated everything about the brand. I though they were the most stereotypical rip off garage/ repair place out there. I had been hosed by pep boys in other locations multiple times and finally just got sick if them. Like I said however. After 5years of waiting, I went in to get some parts. Ended up getting service done too and ya kniw what? The didnt try to uosell me. They did exactly what I asked and they were quick. If only they sold more auto parts and less night club decorations Id probably use them more and more

Dropped my car off on a Friday Afternoon to get my car Inspected and tagged since my tags were almost up. I expected to receive my car in the same condition I dropped it off in. Much to my surprise that wasnt the way it was. When I picked up my car on Sunday I found that my drivers side door would not open from the inside. I came back to the store to find that the reason why it wasnt opening was because of the simple fact that whoever checked my cars door didnt put it back together properly. Long story short I am extremely disappointed with the team and the service I received.
