I recently took my car here for a transmission repair, which ended up needing to be rebuilt, it was not cheap. However, I have no way to really gauge their price compared to others so I cannot hold that against them. The guy I dealt with, I believe his name is Santo, was extremely nice throughout the process. When I picked up my car, he explained to me what happened and showed me one of the damaged parts. Finding the place was a little tricky. You can see them clear as day from the main road (McConnell?) but their actual address is Kintner, which is more like an alley around the back. I think Santo said they are relocating though. All in all I was pleased with the experience, my car is driving great. The only thing that frustrated me a bit was the lack of communication while they had my car. This was mostly due to the fact I had a rental car and needed to know how long I was going to be keeping it, extending the rental, etc... There were a couple times I was told I would be contacted or that my car should be ready by date X and those days went by without any calls notifying me otherwise, I had to call them the following days for an update. But like I said, all in all I was pleased and would take my car there again.

Very reliable and fare shop. My transmission broke down while we were visiting the area (skiing). I called-up many transmission shops around, most told me I have to wait for at least 2-3 days to only look at my car, plus 3-4 days to finish the job. When I called this shop, the owner Sal told me they can start right away, nicely explained to me over the phone all the possible options I may have with this transmission, including possible expense. When my car was brought there, they started almost immediately, even though all their lifts were full and clearly they were very busy with all other cars. I learned that it is impossible to figure the exact damage inside the transmission without taking it apart, so thats what they did, and Sal gave me all the details of the damage and the price to rebuild this transmission, as well as the option to install used or new transmission. Knowing the damage, I checked prices in several local shops to rebuild it, all of them gave me the higher price than Sal. They finished the job on time, as promised (in 2 days), gave me 3 year/36,000 miles nationwide guarantee. The shop is is large, clean, and well equipped. Owner and his guys are very nice and professional.

So far, my dealings with Cottman in Stroudsburg have been wholly unsatisfactory. First, they claimed that they could finance the $3,000 repair on my Toyota Sienna and only after they had the car did they mention that they could only finance a fraction of the cost. We did work out a compromise on that. The car was repaired the last week of January and after driving less than 200 miles, the rebuilt trans failed. They told me it was a solonoid that they had installed which had failed and probably burned out the clutches. It is, Im told, covered under warranty, but when I asked the proprietor for copies of the invoices for the solonoid and other parts that he says he replaced during that initial repair, he refused. So, in essence, I have no way of confirming which parts have actually been replaced. I have passed this information along both to the national headquarters of Cottman transmission and to the state Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Protection.

It was refreshing to get straight up information about the steps it would take to get my tranny fixed on my 2003 Ford Windstar. Sal, was a very straight up person and I really appreciated that from him. My situation included dealing with an insurance company who would not approve the vehicle to get fixed unless the tranny was taken apart and left for an inspector of the insurance company to look over before approval. I was told by Sal that I would be responsible for the diagnosis of the vehicle if the company did not approve the repair( thats honesty and straightforward). I understood what my choice was and went ahead with the diagnostic. Fortunately the repair was authorized. I got the vehicle back on 12/20/13 and so far no problems. Will keep the public posted if any troubles occur. Was very impressed with Sal and the professional service he provided along with his staff.

During a road trip I broke down on route 80 and had my car towed to Cottman Transmission knowing nothing about the auto shop. The shop was closed and I had to leave my key in the key drop. Being from Philadelphia I was less than thrilled about this but put my faith in the car gods and took a chance. By the time I called Cottman the next morning (around 9:30am) the owner had already been looking at my car for a half hour an knew what was wrong!!!! I was shocked and so impressed with them especially since my car was fixed the same day! The price was unbeatable and the people that work there were fantastic. Dont sleep on this one!!

These guys help me every time Im in a jam. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Their prices are fair and they always answer any questions I ask with a smile. The best part is they are honest. I have been to a lot of mechanics in this area and they have saved me so much money by not overdoing it. Seriously people, these guys are the best. Plus they have arcades in their waiting room!
