If this review had been posted before May 1st, 2016, I would have given Pittsburgh BBQ a solid and resounding 5 stars. Unfortunately, after today, I would give it 1 star (I would actually give it 0 stars, but thats not a choice, so the average is a generous 3 stars. Today, around 3 pm, I ordered a half rack of spare ribs, 3 cornbread and a pound of brisket. By 5 pm, I had eaten all but one of the ribs, all 3 cornbread and a few slices of brisket. By 6 pm, I began to experience nausea and stomach cramps. By 8 pm, the majority of the meal had resurfaced. By 11 pm, I am still feeling the ill effects of whatever parts of the meal did not resurface earlier. I am disappointed as I have always loved Pittsburgh BBQ Company and have made many visits there previously. Sadly, this will be my last visit. FYI, this was my first meal of the day and the only food I ate today, indicating that there was no other gastronomical reason for my distress. UPDATE: I have downgraded to 2 stars after contacting management with no return communication received.

This is a fantastic spot for traditional Carolina barbecue; they have nailed the brisket, pulled pork, and tangy Carolina-style sauce. The corn bread is also quite delicious. Heres the thing you need to understand about barbecue before going to this place, or any for that matter: BBQ is a very regional craft, with a distinct approach to preparation, flavoring, moisture level, cut, rubs, smoking, and sauces for each region. A quick search of "regional barbecues" will tell you all about this, likely covering the most acclaimed (Texas, Memphis, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Carolina barbecues). Some of the reviews youll read below are judging the PGH BBQ menu based on the type of BBQ the reviewer prefers or knows. If youre looking for good Carolina BBQ, or you want to try it after reading about Carolina BBQ to appreciate it, then this is a great place to try.

Used to love. Not now. Ive been to PGH BBQ at least 20 times in the past 3 years and used to love it. WHAT HAPPENED? Does anybody else agree that their food has really gone down hill in the last 18months? The brisket is tough and dry. I had to use a steak knife to eat it. Currently in my opinion the pulled pork is your best bet, but thats not saying much these days at PGH BBQ. Dry and rubbery is the name of the game for the ribs, as they are almost inedible. I threw out an entire 1/2 rack. Has there been a management change? A change in pit masters? What? If anybody knows the answer Id love to know. Pghs response to BBQ has now become a sad, soft whisper. R.I.P pgh BBq

2 star reduction due to service. Food is fantastic but we ordered 11lbs of pulled pork for a surprise party and when we showed up at the time we agreed for pick up, they had no recollection of our order and it wasnt ready. We had email confirmation of the order with all the details and they were not prepared. This was for a surprise party so timing of everything was crucial and this threw off our entire day. They also werent concerned they messed up and didnt sense our frustration that we spent $185 for meat that wasnt ready. My advice is to make sure you call ahead the day of pickup and confirm the order to avoid the unccessary frustrstion we experienced.

This is your basic BBQ pit; go there, pick up St Louis or Memphis ribs, pulled pork or chicken, or BBQ chicken. Sides are all that; we get Mac N cheese and baked beans and on this day they had bristles apple pie. We also got the last piggie brownie. I like the spicy sauce, which is something for a rub guy (if the rub is right, ya dont need sauce...). There may be a picnic table at or about but this is more a resource than restaurant. Rating based solely on food and people bringing it to you. Its not a restaurant.

As we approached the Pittsburgh BBQ company, I thought that it was not much to look at. But once we walked in we had to reconsider our first impression. Inside was clean and welcoming. We were just guest to Pittsburgh so we did not really know what to expect. What we received was the best BBQ ribs that we ever tasted. That is even after going to a rib fest only two weeks before. If you ever visit Pittsburgh, you must try out this place. You we not regret it.

We had lunch at the PBC in Delmont on Sunday. Excellent Service, the girls were very friendly. The decor is very clean! The food is much better than another BBQ we have gone to on Route 22 and the portions are huge! Will definitely go back and if your reading this you should give it a try!!!

In my opinion, this is the best Bar B.Q. in and around the City of Pittsburgh. The prices are reasonable and the portions satisfying. Too bad its only open eight month of the year instead of twelve. Have hoped that one of these years they may have a eat in restaurant.

Went in with reasonably high expectations because this place was recommended. Disappointed. Got Pulled Pork Sandwich, Baked Beans, and Mac and Cheese. The beans and Mac and cheese were flavorless. Sandwich was only palatable after drenching it in BBQ sauce. Sad day

I drop in here every time I have an excuse to. Their combos are good enough for two meals (or one if you really want to love/hate yourself afterwards.) Everything is absolutely delicious, and everyone who works there been real friendly every time Ive been there.

Only place that has brisket in Pittsburgh. Also their "St. Louis ribs" as close to southern ribs as your going to get. Only complaint is that their sauce is heavy on the vinegar, so get it on the side to determine if you like it.

This is just AVERAGE BBQ. Way too inconsistent. Dont use enough rub on their Pork and the Brisket is hit or miss on doneness and always lacks flavor. Chicken is decent. The sides are average. Slaw is bad. Cornbread is tasty.

Would be great if there was any indication that this was only a seasonal business. Its apparently closed for several months out of the year. Would love to say how the food was, but obviously I wouldnt know.

I have yet to find a better BBQ place in Pittsburgh. Highly recommend. Aside from the standard meats, the sides are killer. The beans and cornbread are outstanding.

Great flavor but uses cheap cuts of meat. Would not good back. Baby back ribs should be rib bones, meat and fat - not lots of gristle and cartilage.
