I have a volkswagon golf that had I took to Dubbles for an evaluation. My vehicle has a transmission slip and a couple other smaller mechanicle issues. Even though Dubbles is a reputable mechanic shop, they are pricy. I the heard about AAMCO and gave them a call. I spoke with izzy on the phone and he told me that most of the time its not the transmission but some minor issue in the engine and it could be fixed for cheap. I decided to beleive him and i got my car towed to AAMCO. After their evaluation izzy tells me that they would have to fix all the smaller issues to get the engine running perfect in order the figure out the main transmission slip that i felt my car was doing. So izzy gives me and attractive deal on that repair so i told him to get it done. After a week and a half i keep calling to check up on my vehicle and i keep getting the runaround. After a month goes by i personally show up and they tell me that they are doing this on their time a d they will let me knoe. I was so mad i told him to take their next "appointment slot" and get my car looked st asap its already been over a month at this time and i was furious. So the next appointment was the next day at 12 pm and not to long after 12 they call me to tell me that i need a transmission. And i just thought to myself that how did it take them over a month to determin that my transmission was bad and that it had a cracked piston. Unbeleivable, they lied to me in order to get me to pay for all those repairs and then to tell my i needed that transmission anyway. Horrible place to do business with. I will never send anyone to aamco. Nice people but they are liers. James the manager tells me they didnt know it needed the transmission so that supposed hour that it took the mechanic to "re-evaluate" my car he was not charging me for. "Because he know i needed a transmission"! Liers... if i knew i had no other option but to put a transmission i would have not spend $1000 towing the car there and getting it fixed. I guess they met their holiday quotas... scammers.

I give them a two star rating because the transmission works ok. The guy at the front desk Izzy I believe has more stories than doctor suess when it come to when ur car will be finished. Now my car needed a transmission and I gave them the job. Now three months before I put upper and lower balljoints on the car. After I got the car back from Aamco all the rubber boots on all the balljoints were destroyed from when they had to pop the axels out in order to get the trans out. Not a big deal minor to me. I do all my own work as to I am a Mechanic. So the balljoints needed to be replace cuz the rubber boots that hold the grease in were destroyed causing squeaking which is normal cuz the grease leaked out. Now to the interesting part after I did the balljoints A Arms and links squeak was still there... weird. So come to find out the Rack &Pinion wasnt tighten causing it to move a little bit causing the squeaking I got a few turns out of each bolt on the rack which there is 4 Bolts. Also I noticed the steering lines were secure in the clip its supposed to clip onto and a bolt goes thru it. Of course the bolts were missing on both sides. So after seeing all their shotty work on a 3,700 job you have a better chance of Jesus getting a transmission done there than to see me around that place. I wouldnt even return for warranty work I still havent got around to calling their. Corporate Office yet. Which will happen. Until then my car will never return to a Aamco.

Apparently they arent the engine and transmission expert. I told them what my issues was and they said the car needed a new transmission; long story short I paid $1,476 for a new transmission with warrtenty; fine that isnt a problem. But the problem is not only did I not have my car for two months, paid the $1,476, paid for cabs, and not to mention rental; the car was still doing the same and worse. In the middle of it all Kia got involved and my car was taken over to Kia. Aamco never had an appointment to drop off the car like they told me for the programming. Aamco never communicated the urgency of the situation of having a 3 week old newborn and how much of an incovinence this car has been for me. Aamco didnt meantion to Kia that the car had not transmission fluid or that they took it out, but as experts they should have been able to tell there was not transmission fluid. So I get my car back and realize its doing the same initial problem but worse which almost caused me to crash. I called Aamco furiously and told them its still doing the same thing and that its all kias fault but in reality it was all Aamco the "experts". I could have had my car back a month ago and not have to pay $1,476 so I will need a refund for my money. Dont do business with Aamco who are a third party, take your car to the original maker.

I am new to the Shillington area and when my car overheated unexpectedly on a Friday night and barely made it home, I knew I would need to get it towed to a shop in the morning. I had seen many great reviews for AAMCO, Reading and even though it was just down the street from my house, I wasnt sure they would be able to take care of my radiator needs. When I called the next morning, Izzy assured me they were an all-service shop and that I would be in good hands. My car sustained some damage from the tow, which made the experience more stressful at first. Izzy and James provided excellent customer service with continuos help and updates. James explained in detail, all that was needed to get my car back into shape and went above and beyond helping me deal with the tow damage as well, and I didnt have to do a thing! They were able to take care of everything for me in a reasonable time and for an affordable price. For a first time AAMCO experience, I would say this service was by far top notch, one of the best service experiences Ive had in the 12 years Ive owned this car and will definitely be returning for all my future car service needs. Thank you to Izzy, James, and the whole AAMCO Reading team for getting me back on the road quickly and safely!! You guys ROCK!

Best auto repair service in reading aamco has my business from now on. i had tons of codes apparantly a bad electrical problem i took my lincoln to 2 other shops and after 3 months of paying them labor and for several parts it was still just as broke. went to aamco for the free check they said i needed diag time after the free check was suspecious i was about to get taking for a ride again. glad i was wrong these guys figured out the issue in 1 day. it was a wiring issue didnt even need any parts to fix it probally didnt even need the parts i put in it already. i will only go there from now on, its hard to find shops like this that know there stuff and are honest about it. i did try but i didnt get any money back from the other 2 shops. dont do like me and waste your time and money elsewhere just go to aamco reading and be done with it. they have the newest scantools and stuff to do a good job, thats what i am doing next time.
