Lack of communication, customer service, and professionalism. I had a 3:30 appointment to have a one hour massage. Simultaneously my 5 year old was suppose to have her hair, nails and makeup done. When we first arrived and checked in, no one seemed to understand this. I had received this as an early mothers day gift and I was very skeptical of leaving my 5 year old in the hands of unknown people. To eliminate this concern I had called the night before and asked how it would work. What she explained to me was a flawless transitions between stations and my daughter would always be with one of the staff members. So it came to a surprise when they had no idea what was going on when we came in. After a few minutes of them conversing they were ready to whisk my 5 year old away without asking or having any conversations with me. I had to stop her from whisking away my child to lay down some ground rules and tell her how I wanted her hair cut. Needless to say my whole hour long massage I was thinking about what my daughter is doing and wondering if the are taking good care of her. Also the massage rooms were extremely small and I could hear everyones conversation in the pedicure area outside the door. It killed any type of relaxation I was trying to experience. The woman doing my massage was very good, however I know we didnt get started until after 330 due to the confusion with my daughter and when I got up and got dressed I looked at my phone and it wasnt even 430. Very disappointed. I went downstairs to see my daughter walking in the door from the makeup building with a smoothie and popcorn. I was pleased with her hair and makeup. The woman whom she was with was the woman that did her makeup. She was so nice and courteous and I was very impressed but it was all downhill from there. I was informed she couldnt get her nails done. The big brown haired woman at the desk was speaking to the makeup artist as I was standing right there advising her she did not have anyone to do her nails as a few girls had to leave. The makeup artist offered to do her nails but wouldnt be anything special. Well my daughter had plans for her nails and it wasnt going to be some plain Jane nails that I could do for her. The woman behind the desk proceeded to tell me they were all booked up and unable to do them, meanwhile not looking at me at all, so unprofessional. I advised her we did book an appointment and I was paying to have her nails done. At this point I was utterly disgusted by the woman behind the desk I told her to refund me for the nails and we would go somewhere else. Honestly I wouldnt go back, Id go to tranquility on 61, so much more relaxing and the price isnt nearly as steep.

Bought a deal from Groupon for a couples spa get away. Had my fiance call and try to set up an appt. On the only day we were both off together which is a Sunday. He called back and said well they only have one massage therapist that day so they cant do us both together I asked well cant they just do back to back like I get a massage and then we switch? He called back and asked and of course that was okay so instead of them offering that I had to suggest it. Then we got a call the day of our appt. Literally maybe an hour before that the massage therapist called out sick so our appt was cancelled. So then we rescheduled for about a month later. Showed up I went in for my massage and then they took me to the sauna to wait for my facial. As Im sitting in the sauna a woman opens the door and says sorry and closes it. Then the same woman comes up with two more women and tells me to step out of the sauna. So I do and then turns out the women didnt want the infrared sauna so she asks me well how long were you in there are you waiting for a facial and I say yes and she goes well you can go back and sit down or go down stairs and Ill figure this out. So I go back in the sauna and then a manager comes in the speak to me. Keep in mind Im in a robe, in a sauna after already having my massage. And she says the facial person called off sick. And that we can redeem the Groupon today and she will just give us a complimentary facial at a later date or I could extend my day with them and get (Buy) a manicure/pedicure while Im waiting for my fiance to be done with his massage ( which his facial was supposed to be while my massage was going on and they left him sitting down there waiting for over a hour). She also told me I could stay in the sauna until he was done and I made the comment that I already got dragged out and thrown back in once. And that no one seems to know what the hell is going on. Part of the groupon was the choice of a lunch or a smoothie and the manager said we could have both instead of one or the other on the house. I am severely unhappy and will not be purchasing any further services. They used to be a good place to go but now seems like they cant even get themselves together and figure things out. And youd think a business would have more than one person to rely on for a service when theyre open. The manager was also no where to be found after that. Was really looking forward to a relaxing day and instead got a stressful one.

I lived in Berks County for over 20 years. I have been to all kinds of salons in the county, and I have to say that Bell Tower is one of the best salons in Berks. Not only is aesthetically pleasing, but overall the service is decent. Last weekend my brother got married, so the entire bridal party (myself included) got our hair done. Most of the bridal party also had their makeup as well. All seven women had their hair done and 6 out of the 7 were happy with their style. I have naturally curly hair and for the style I wanted, I knew my hair had to be straightened, so I made sure it was straightened to avoid the hassle with the stylist. Wilma did my hair and she did a pretty good job. I did give her a picture of what I wanted and she did good job. Wilma did the hair of someone else in the bridal and she was the only person that did not like her hair. I thought it looked pretty. Now to the makeup. I came prepared for what I wanted for the makeup complete with a picture of the look I wanted. The salon uses only NARS products. Im a total MAC girl, so I wasnt a fan of the foundation. The woman that did my makeup was Shauna. I thought she did a fairly decent job with my makeup. There was another makeup artist who was doing my cousins makeup at the same time and it was fabulous! My mom had her makeup done by Shauna and she was not to happy with the outcome. She wanted the makeup to be more dramatic and also Shauna did not fill in my mothers eyebrows. Its proper makeup etiquette to always touch up the eyebrows. I have a scar that goes right into my eyebrow, so I mentioned it to her and she filled it in. They also do not have free samples of the lipstick or gloss that is used. Most places will provide at least a sample. I bought my lip gloss for $25. Overall, the price for me was decent for me. Now I had an "elegant style" which meant I didnt have an up do, so my hair was significantly less expensive. My sister in law (who was the bride) paid $80 for her up do. I paid for hair and makeup and the lip gloss a total of $116. That means my hair and makeup came out to about $90. My mom also had an "elegant style" and she said her hair cost about $60. So there you have it. I currently live in Chicago, and a salon like this over here would be much more expensive. The staff is extremely friendly, and will treat you like a princess. I would recommend this place to others.
