They rented me a DUMP. My fiancé and I were looking to move into Providence from out of state, and found an ad on craigslist for a property they were representing. I sent them an email, no response. Couple days later I call, they never got my email, but they give me more info, take down my name and number and the apartment Im interested in. I call back the next day to talk to them further and arrange a time for my fiancé to fly out and inspect the apartment, and they dont have a record of me so they take my information AGAIN. They finally assign us to an agent, Jeffrey, who was alright. They charged us $35 per person for application fees, and we stressed that we needed to move in right away otherwise we would be paying for hotel rooms while we waited. They kept stringing us along saying, "Im sure you can move in in just a couple days," and it ended up taking a little over week. If they had just been hontest with us from the start we wouldnt have wasted so much money staying there and would have just flown back. Hotels in providence are NOT cheap. Once we get into the apartment we started to discover that the other tenants in the building and the neighborhood are NOT at ALL what Samson or the property owner represented to us. Being unfamiliar with the area, we had to go on good faith that they were being honest about the area and tenants. The neighborhood was rough to say the least, the street was full of garbage and a cop arrived at the house across the street to break up a domestic dispute on our first night. We were told no pets and the first floor tenant had a dog that barked all day. The second floor was supposed to have four people, yet there were at least 7 people living there. Once we started cleaning it (it was really dirty, but we were ok with cleaning it ourselves because of our time constraint), we discover that the place is like a house of cards. It looks great until you touch it, and it just falls down. There were giant holes all over the walls, multiple cracks that ran the length of the wall on EVEYR SINGLE WALL, extremely weak wallboard in several rooms, black mold in the bathroom, completely missing a section of baseboard in bathroom, the stairwell had plaster falling off the walls and ceilings all over... The place was in violation of at least 5 housing codes, probably more. The owner said it needed a few things done, but when someone says that it usually means A FEW THINGS, not a renovation. This place was barely live-able. I cant believe Samson was even willing to take on a property like this, let alone act as if there is nothing wrong with it and try and rent it to someone. It was a disaster of an experience. The people that work there are nice enough, but theyre dumb as bricks, irresponsible, and unprofessional. They represent nothing but crap properties nobody else wants. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The landlord and agency put me in an apartment next to a hoarder.at 745 Pleasant St Pawtucket. The landlord knew she was there but said nothing. After she moved out and the smell and constant banging and ripping out of decayed wood was constant. She then refused to fix the floor of the apt above this where the odor was coming in from a hole and told that tenant that she was not getting her deposit back because she "complained too much" When the tenant tried to leave, she blocked her in by parking her own car crossways in the driveway and called the police, who of course told her she couldnt detain her illegally. She was routinely unreachable when the hot water was off for 5 days. She refused to fix the toilet seat which fell off stating that my "guests must have been dropping it, or I was using it as a stool?!? When I suggested that I fix it myself and deduct it from the rent, she stated that I couldnt When I told her this was not a normal response she gave me 30 days to leave even though she knew that I was leaving for an out of town job for 8 weeks in 48 hours and wouldnt be there to move. This was retaliation. Luckily I have a friend who knows tenant/landlord law and protected my apt and kept her from constantly entering in my absence. She routinely has harassed other tenants as well, and refused to make repairs. She routinely threatens to keep security deposits. My friends and family moved me out. Best escape ever. Be warned.

this place is a den of thieves!they never return calls ans they lie about leaving messages.especially Diane.I dealt with her, when she asked for 35 dollars per person (there are 3 of us,for a total of $105) we told her we had less than perfect credit and we would just move on because we knew we would not pass the check. She insistantly prodded us saying, and I qote,"don't worry about it, I am sure we can work it out since your current income will easily cover the rent.".So we went through with it on good faith that she would help us with getting into a place.Of course we didn't pass the check. There was no help even trying to find a place that might work with us,and she didn't even call us to let us know about the status of our credit check.I had to call her 3 days later. This is all after she completely blew us off on an appoint we made a week previous to this encounter because she had other business go attend to.All together a nightmare. Now,my fiance and I,and our friend are stuck in a hotel room until we can find another. So much for good faith and honest people. If you don't have perfect credit don't waste your time and money with these pirates.I also asked some questions and found that the only good review they have here is from david,he is one of the agents in the office.

I cannot believe Samson Realty has so many stars. Go to their YELP page and youll see a whole other story. My experience with Samson Realty was UNPLEASANT. WALK-INS WELCOME? NOT SO MUCH.... So my wife and I were living in a sublet for 2 months right around the block from Samson. We wanted to find another place ASAP so we walked over there on a Saturday afternoon, since walk-ins are so welcome. Well, we walked in and stood their for a solid minute before a woman turned to us and said "Um, Im busy right now" and asked some guy Josh or Justin to help us. His response to us was "Im not actually here right now, but Ill help you for a minute". WTF?!?! He certainly wasnt a hologram, and he was in fact actually there. So Josh/Justin/Whateverhisnamewas scrolled through some properties we might be interested in and told us he would email us properties. Well, 2 days went by and nothing... So I called back and asked to speak with him and he wasnt there. I called again, spoke to him and he never sent any properties to me. The service there was RUDE and NOT HELPFUL. I will never go there again nor would I EVER recommend them to anybody. The staff was rude and didnt seem to care for our business.

I cannot speak to what others have said, but my experience has been nothing but positive from the beginning. The realtor who showed the property was prompt, professional, and answered all questions that were presented. Due to recent credit issues there were some "hiccups" during the leasing process, but the people at Samson handled them while working towards an equitable solution that I feel was fair for everyone involved (us and the property owners). They were polite and kept a stressful situation much lighter than it could have been by displaying positive attitudes and keeping in regular contact throughout (returned all emails and calls in a timely manner). I have been very pleased and would of course reccomend them based on my experience.
