Ive been messing around with box dye for about a year now and my hairs been almost black, brownish, orangey, reddish-blond, kind of blonde, ..in other words, a freaking nightmare. Anyway, today I was so depressed with it I decided I was done trying to get it back to the blonde I started with before I dyed it black last year and I googled a bunch of salons in Charleston, found Canvas, thought the reviews sounded good and gave them a call. First impression, even over the phone, was great: The woman who made my appointment was lovely and managed to get me an apointment for noon. Im sorry her name escapes me now (Lyndsay?) because she deserves recognition for being so fab! On entering the salon I was greeted warmly and felt at ease instantly; the salon is clean, inviting and has a really nice energy. ( Ive seldom felt that at any salon, so I really appreciated it.) My stylist, Kelly, was everything you hope and pray for when youre looking for a great stylist: she listened to my horror story about the hell Ive put my hair through, what I REALLY wanted my color and cut to look like, and came up with a plan that worked with my budget. In addition to being a considerate and talented stylist, Kelly was so friendly and easy to talk to, just a beautiful human being; I felt like Id known her in another lifetime and I just "knew" she was going to do an amazing job, and she DID: Im THRILLED to pieces with the gorgeous color of my hair now and the cut is fantastic! I started today feeling so depressed and ugly and left Canvas feeling SO happy and beautiful I literally bounced down King St afterward. Im not kidding. Thank you Kelly & thank you Canvas! See you all in 6 weeks. :-D

Janie is a lifesaver! I went to another well known charleston Salon, where my hair was destroyed (cut off 5 inches more than i requested and over processed chunky highlights). I needed someone I who could fix my hair, and get me back to feeling "normal". Janie did just that, and more. She clearly understood what I wanted my hair to look like, and was able to get my color back to what i wanted! Also, she showed me some fun ways to style the hair I previously planned on wearing in a ponytail until it grew out. I cannot recommend Canvas enough- everyone was wonderful. Thank you, Janie!!!

I have been a client here for several years now and I have a great experience every time. The salon is beautiful and everyone is so welcoming (Lindsay is usually at the desk when I go and she is so sweet!). Christen has given me many different cuts over the years from a little trim to a dramatic change and she nails it every time. I have very thick hair that grows very fast so Ive had my fair share of bad cuts or cuts that dont grow out well but that has never happened to me at Canvas. I cant wait for my next appointment!

I just moved to Charleston and have been looking for someone to take care of my hair. My experience at Canvas was absolutely lovely! Not only did Ali gave me a beautiful balayage ombré, she was also friendly, very attentive to detail, and incredibly sweet. She even took extra time with me to make sure I walked out of the door with exactly what I wanted. Oh, and her shampoo was heavenly! I went to Canvas today for subtle ombre highlights and absolutely love my new look! From start to finish, it was a perfect salon experience. I had a conditioning treatment and my hair has never felt softer. Kearsen was diligent in making sure the color looks totally natural. The scalp massage was an added bonus. Just moved to Charleston and was looking for a great color salon. I found Canvas had the best reviews and wanted to try- it did not disappoint! I saw Casey and she did an awesome job! The prices were very comparable to others I looked at downtown, but the location and style was better than I expected. I will definitely be going back and highly recommend it.

Marena is the best! It can be a little pricey but you wont regret spending the extra money. The location is really convenient and everyone there is really nice and talented. If you are looking for someone you can trust to cut your hair in Charleston, I would recommend going to Canvas! Marena is my personal favorite, but everyone there is great!

Samantha cut my hair, and she was awesome. I came in with shoulder length hair, and wanted a really complicated, edgy, super-short hair cut. She nailed it. She took a lot of extra time to make sure we were both on the same page and to tweak minor details. So professional. Scared to get my hair cut anywhere else!!

Genevieve did a phenomenal job on my hair! I went to another salon for balayage and ended up with ombre. With my wedding just a couple days away, I came to Canvas to fix the color. Canvas is my favorite salon, by far, in Charleston. Janie is my go-to girl and always does such a beautiful job on my hair! Kearson and Christen are fantastic at what they do, too. I highly recommend them for childrens cuts, too. Just love this place.
