Overall I think that this is one of the better facilities that I have belonged to and it really is a wellness center and not just a gym The staff - very friendly and accommodating with guests requests The cardio facilities - large area with many machines (lots of treadmills and ellipticals) - some dumbbells and the majority of the strength training weight machines (most are dated) are located in this area - clean and organized well - large indoor track that has windows lining the perimeter which makes running on the track a bit more enjoyable The weight room (I dont utilize this area as much as the other areas of the facility) - on the lower level of the facility and newly renovated - mirrors lining one of the walls - both free weights and dumbbells along with various machines The pool - lap pool with a designated general swimming area/water aerobics area - clean and for the most part consistent with temperature The tennis courts - I used these until they closed them for resurfacing (still ongoing a year later) -outdoor track around the tennis courts that is still open Facilities/services that I havent used - racket ball courts - squash courts - basketball courts - Spinning room - yoga studio - child care center - massage therapy (additional cost) - personal trainers (additional cost)

First rate gym. Best in CHS hands down. Nice indoor basketball court and good cardio equipment. I have a parking card and never have issues with getting a spot. Busy Saturday AMs sometimes the lots get filled, so maybe that is what people are complaining about. My only real gripe with them is that they run kids camps out of the gym and they last all summer and every long holiday (Christmas) it is jammed up with children. I love kids I have 3 of my own. I dont love when I come to work out, play basketball and they have the whole court taken up with kids and members arent allowed in gym. The fix would be simple, look out for your members FIRST and keep kids camps off basketball courts.

This is the best gym in the town. It has all amenities including huge cardio room(with treadmill, elliptical, cycling, rowing, stair climber, and weight training instruments), court for racket ball, squash, basketball (which i never played), separate weight training room, zumba exercise , group cycling, swimming, tennis court, sauna, steam room. The instruments are plenty (room and time for everyone), excellent air conditioning(no bad odors), clean restroom and bathroom, clean and spacious lockers, excellent experienced instructors( help everyone), car parking facility (I never used it as much). The best part are the friendly people in the gym which is worth the time and money.

Every weekend the older lady iS working she is always telling me to take my sunglasses off, or to stop playing on my phone, and checks every single time that I lock my box which is fine I understand thats her job but to only do it to me Im getting singled out and picked on by this lady its really irritating when she doesnt do it to anybody else but always wants to tell me something if its her job to always do that then she needs to do it to every single person thats in that clinic instead of just only me I feel discriminated every time shes there

While a few people socialize, this is an introverts version of a gym. Get in, get your workout done, and get on with brain surgery, intensive care heroics, or whatever it is that is next on your crowded calendar. Nicely maintained equipment and thoughtfully crowd-controlled. Avoid the 6AM rush for the best experience. Late-night is best. The pool is under-used and great value for the cross-training user.

I enjoy the classes at the gym however am really disappointed by the lack of evening classes. Having the latest class everyday be 6 or 6:30 pm makes it extremely hard for those with jobs to make it to the gym in time for the class. For me, and several other members and non-members Ive spoken to this is the biggest downside to this otherwise good gym. Group X please please consider slating some later classes.

I had a horrible experience with the customer service department, specifically member services. In such a fitness driven culture it is unfortunate that I only have bad things to say about this place to my friends, family and clients. The customer is always right and the staff (Victoria and Lilly, even their supervisor Janice) at MUSC Wellness made it clear that they "did not need me as a customer".

Old weight room area with uneven floors, boring music playing a majority of the time. Tons of amenities like racquetball, basketball and pool though. Great staff. For the "#1 Gym" in charleston, I expected a lot nicer equipment. No parking with limited access with parking card. You should be able to use all MUSC parking lots. If you are looking for a true gym, Pivotal fitness is the way to go.

Awful. Too many reasons not to sign up with this place. minimum 1-year contract, no parking available during the day, most of the weight and gym equipment is from the 70s (no kidding really old stuff), floors are uneven/outdated in weight room, they dont bolt their squat/bench racks which leads to off-centered posture, people dont care to put weights back. literally could go on and on

One of the best gyms in charleston. They recently upgraded their weight room with more squat racks. The locker rooms are starting to wear down with all the heavy use. If you are affiliated with MUSC, the hospital gives employees a discount and students have free memberships. The member ship costs for the public are expensive.

Really nice gym that is worth the price. The cardio room is huge, and has lots of treadmills and ellipticals. The locker room and showers are always clean, and has all the amenities you need. There is also a sauna and steam room. There is an extra fee for parking. That was not an issue for me because I walk from my office.

A very nice and clean facility. Parking is crumby but if you pay extra you can get a pass to park in more places. Gets very busy so if youre a little bit impatient or have bad anxiety, it might not be the gym for you. To be fair, there are good times to go but youll need to be flexible.

Expensive, TERRIBLE service, and always under construction. Most equipment is broken and not fixed making workouts difficult in an already over crowded space.

Expensive membership cost for the basic facilities and services. However, the management people are helpful if you have any questions and problems.

Best in town. Pool, steam room, sauna, plenty of equipment, plenty of classes. I joined 5 years ago, looked at others but none compare.
