DO NOT USE BERKELEY LOCKSMITH - a professional business womans opinion - I have used Berkeley Locksmith many times in the past despite the times i have gone in to get keys made for my company (5 different keys and need 10 copies) and 4 sets out of 5 didnt work. Mistakes happen so i said ok lets fix it and everything was fine. I go back today to get a car key phob looked at that just recently stopped working that they replaced the inside for me (which i find out they shouldnt be doing, they should have just sold me a new one from the begining) and a gentleman said "well it would have never worked because a piece was missing". I said well it did work but it stopped the other day. He continued to tell me that i was wrong and asked if i had a receipt i told him no and that i couldnt remember who took care of me that day. He continued to tell me how i was wrong and it would have never worked, basically calling me a liar. His customer service was terrible even one of the other employees apologized for him. Keeping my cool I said "he/you could have simply said "what i can do for you is sell you a replacement due to not having a receipt" I would have been fine with that but after being treated like and talked down to as if i was asking for something free that i didnt want to spend my money in their establishment. Julius was nice enough to walk me out. After thinking about how i was treated i wanted to post my review because what else could i do at this point, so i called up and asked of the gentelmans name who i spoke with and Julius (the man who originally walked me out) said just use my name and hung up on me. So i called back, they picked up and hung up again. I repeatedly asked who the owner was and they refused to give me the rude gentlemans name or the owners name when i called answering the phone saying "Berkeley Locksmith is out of business, were closed" and "Thanks for calling Burgerking" How UNPROFESSIONAL!! Through another business professional i work closely with i have found out that the rude mans name that they refused to give me is WILLIE. I should have known that i would eventually would have issues with them because everytime i have been in that store there is always someone upset or taking things back that dont work. DO NOT USE BERKELEY LOCKSMITH! I didnt even want to give them one star but it wouldnt let me post without it.

I have 2 remote/keys for my truck which are starting to be problematic for locking/unlocking and the remote start. I bought 2 replacement remotes online but have not been able to get them to program per the instructions in my owners manual and the online seller. The local Dodge dealers have been a hassle to get in and out in a reasonable time for key programming (come in, sit and wait until they can get to it or schedule an appointment in a week or 2). I called another local lock shop that does the automotive keys, but never heard back from them. Called Berkeley Locksmith and was told they could do it and should not take long, so I was able to get there over lunch hour. Got to the shop, explained the problem I was having and was told it would be $125. If it didnt work then it was still $125 and if I bought back the right replacement then they would reprogram again. (Dodge quoted me $65 regardless if they work or not, and no guarantee it would work unless they were Dodge OEM keys). A pretty steep price but worth putting an end to my key hassles. The tech came back saying the keys would start the truck but not lock/unlock/remote start. The manager (or owner) seemed to be pretty sure the replacements were not the same as originals and told him to check the circuit boards. I shouldve opened the keyfobs and checked them myself. A little goodwill from from the lockshop would have been nice. Problem not solved. I guess they did what they said they would do, but I wouldnt call it good customer service.

It was 8:47 pm tonight when I got home. My afternoon turn to crap after dealing with Berkeley Locksmith. After they didnt have my locks ready 3 hrs after they said they would, they offered to deliver them to one of my rentals in the time it would take to go pick my kids up from school. Needless to say, they didnt...I waited with two kids in a hot mobile home for an hour and a half before I called to complain. Talked to the owner Willie who assured me there must be some mistake bc his guy should have been there by now. His guy calls me, tells me he has been stuck in traffic the whole time. Btw, they are located about 3 miles from where Im located...so I tell the guy hes got 15 mins before I leave bc he could have walked to me faster and I need to go, I then hang up. He gets there 10 mins later, rolls down his window, then YELLS at me and says, Im doing you a f******* favor so you better watch it. It went downhill pretty quickly after that....ended up calling another locksmith and now Im finally home. Thank you Berkeley Locksmith for the craptastic service, keeping my locks, and for having to deal with the stupidity of your employee. Oh, and lets not forget, Id also thank them for costing me $200.00 for new locks after hours on a Friday night plus another 4 hours of my life I will never get back. If you value your time and money, Id advise choosing a different locksmith.

AAA sent out this provider when I locked my keys in my trunk, which was in a dark parking lot. Locksmith took an hour and a half to arrive, when I asked for an ETA after an hour he told me he "didnt know." Finally arrives at 11:30PM and spents 40 mins jiggling a key in my trunk trying to "pick it." He asks me to Google how to get in my trunk. Finally tells me he needs to make a key to get in my trunk (OBVIOUSLY), makes me confirm with AAA that he can make the key because its not provided under the lockout service. Its now 12:20AM and I cannot get into my home or drive my car. Locksmith promises he can make a key quickly. Takes my whole door off my car, spends another hour messing with my car and taking personal calls then informs me at 1:20AM that he cant get into my car and will need to come back in the morning. Reattaches my car door wrong, breaks out pieces of the sound barrier from the door and hides them under my vehicle, and leaves without giving me a receipt or anything. I spent 10:30PM - 1:30AM in a parking lot and couldnt even go home afterwards, ended up having to stay in a hotel. My car door is now messed up and I had to pay for another locksmith to come out of pocket the next morning who opened my car in 15 mins.

I couldnt be happier. We bought a piece of equipment at auction that didnt come with the ignition key. I searched Google for the closest locksmith and called Berkeley Locksmith this morning. They asked me to email a photo of the lock and I sent it right off. A short while later they called back saying they would send a guy ASAP. He was here in 20 minutes, removed a broken key from inside the lock (that I had no idea was even in there), made a new key from scratch and he was done and on his way in less than 10 minutes. I was so impressed with the quick, friendly and professional service that I immediately sat down to write this review before the truck even left my driveway! Dont hesitate to call them folks, you wont regret it...and show your appreciation with a decent tip and write your own 5-star review!
