I came to this salon expecting to walk away feeling good if not great about my hair. I had highlights already. I really just needed my roots done and a cut. I asked my stylist to do whichever she felt more comfortable with as far as matching up to my then hair color and my roots. I thought I made it very clear that I loved my hair color just needed my roots matched to it. I said if you feel more comfortable do my entire head to make sure it all matches thats fine. Im willing to pay for a "GOOD" color and cut, but I reassure you that I made it very clear to keep the same color. Which my natural hair color is a light brown. It naturally highlights its self well whenever I am in the sun. After almost 4 hours and $250 plus a $35 tip I realized in the sun that I had orange hair after it dried. I had left the salon with my hair wet due to I dont like to dry my hair out with a hairdryer. I went to dinner that night with my family and the response there was " you paid money to look like carrot top?". That night when I took my shirt off to go to bed I then realized that the back of my shirt under my hair had been bleached. The next morning I put back on that shirt and went to the salon to seek help. When I mentioned my hair being orange to the stylist she responded with it has a little orange but I think its more golden. GOLDEN....????... or orange it is horrible... I told her that everyone I ate dinner with the night before saw orange and referred to carrot top. I also mentioned my shirt being bleached out. She responded with I dont have time to help you, but another stylist will be in soon that can help you. So the end result after almost 3 more hours is I am a light golden blonde with a greenish tint and my hair feels like straw. To sum things up I paid $285 to waste 7 hours of my life hating my hair and having my shirt ruined. Brunette not happy with yellow blonde straw hair...I want highlights not a bleach job. My original stylist never checked on me during my visit to try to save my hair. Nor did she even offer an apology for my hair, my ruined shirt, or my time. :-(

I went to this salon about a month ago thinking I will get a new haircut and new look after growing my hair for about 7". The layered look was suggested as usual. I went with it as the hairstylist seemed very confident about it and mentioned that this was her favorite hairstyle in the world. This made me believe that she will do a really good job of it. She gave me a very mediocre haircut but the styling that she gave me after that was really really bad. She told me she was giving me a beachy look but it was nowhere close to it. I had never seen or heard of a beachy look before so I went with it per her explanation and even tipped $15 on top of the $35 of regular charge. After I left the salon and googled the beachy look, I figured that it is kind of casual curls and supposed to look very pretty. Instead, my hair looked like a mess with tons of hairspray in it making it look very sticky, hard and difficult to manage. The stylist styled my hair really impatiently by taking a thick bunch of hair together every time and curling it instead of patiently taking thinner bunches/strands. My hair ended up looking miserable, so I had to tie i in a ponytail immediately and washed them as soon as I reached home! I will prefer not to go to this branch (cedar bluff) of Aveda again and will definitely not get my haircut done from this stylist. $50 wasted!!

Do NOT,.. I repeat do NOT - use Aveda Salon near Cedar Bluff for any kind of dye job. I asked specifically for a 2 tone color, dark hair with red vibrant chunks - and ended up with a flat (no highlights) almost neon red head. True, they did offer to redo the color, but I honestly dont want them touching my head again. When I insisted on a refund for the color only (and not the entire amount as I did like the cut), I was politely told that I would not be permitted back as a client, which of course just fueled my horrible experience with the salon further. I had been nothing but absolutely polite with the staff and manager, and being refused service because I didnt want to pay for something they royally screwed up just dug right under my skin. Ultimately though, its not a problem - I will be more than happy to spend my money elsewhere and tell others to do the same. Only positive is the 2nd lady that cut and styled my hair. She honestly did a very good job, and I love the style. If only it could make up for the fact that my head now glows like a red beacon,..

I was so excited to get blonde highlights. I havent been to Aveda in a while...got a stylist that I havent had before...big mistake. I now have orange highlights...even after toner. My daughter saw my hair color....said mommy your hair is orange. So disappointing. I need to invest in hats. ☹️

Would not recommend just based of company business practices. Keep reviewing this location negatively this is a horrible place. Its already tanking fast at a 3.4 out of 5...
