Im a really easily pleased customer, but Uptech acted dishonestly with me and I think that prospective customers have a right to know. Im also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I called about the issue I had with my computer and asked what the price would be for a couple of different possibilities (like replacing the hard drive, etc.) I then asked what the price would be if I ended up just wanting them to copy the files on my hard drive (in the case that the hard drive needs to be replaced and Im not ready to spend that much money). The woman on the phone told me $79.99. Under that impression I went in and put myself on the line for the $30 diagnostic. However, when they called, they informed me that copying the files on the hard drive would actually cost $150. I was unwilling to pay that much and felt that I shouldnt have to pay the diagnostic fee because I only put myself on the line for it because I thought that--worst case scenario--Id only have to pay $80 for them to copy the files on my hard drive. The person I spoke with--who appeared to be the manager or owner--told me that what the woman said was a miscommunication and Id still need to pay for the diagnostic. I told him that in my experience, when a company makes a mistake they take responsibility for it--instead of making a customer pay for their mistake. He didnt care. They refused to take responsibility for their mistake. To me that shows a lack of integrity and willingness to understand where a customer is coming from. Two other companies (STS Repair and KC Computer Repair) performed the service for way less than half of the price that Uptech was asking--$65 at STS and $60 at KC Computer Repair. If I had been quoted the correct price at Uptech for their services, I never would have brought my PC in and I never would have paid that $30 diagnostic--for which I received nothing.

There is not an option for less than 1 star or I would have chosen negative 5! I brought my phone in with a cracked screen but otherwise working normally. They returned it with the screen no longer functioning and told me the pins must be damaged. I took it to another shop and they checked it out and told me that the capacitor for the backlight was burnt and that if the phone had been working when I dropped it at uptech then they had shorted out the capacitor. I then went back to uptech expecting them to provive some sort of solutions or at least some sort of compensation for damage to the phone. They refused saying that the other shop could not know for sure and that it was most likely still the pins. To be fair I returned to the other shop and asked how they knew it was the capacitor? They told me they had first inspected the pins with a microscope and finding no damage checked the capacitor which has been shorted out and is no longer working.I returned to uptech and gave them one more opportunity to do the right thing but they refused! DO NOT GO THERE!!! THEY WILL NOT ADMIT THIER MISTAKES NOR WILL THEY MAKE THEM RIGHT!!!!

Great company! Put laptop in PC Doctor on Oct 18 to repair what they diagnosed as a faulty AC jack. PC DOCTOR charged $50 to look at it, They said it would take a week before they could look at it and if it was what they thought it would take 3 weeks to get the part. They called a week later and said they had checked it out and it was the jack and would cost $300 + to repair. I told them to do it. Called them Now 23, and after being told four different stories by three different people one guy finally told me the part was on back order until January 15. I said forget it and I would just pick it up. I got it back (they did refund the deposit after I complained). I took it to UPTECH on Mt Moriah the day before Thanksgiving. They called me one hour later and said that it wasnt the jack but the power cord (the part you plug into the jack) and that they could replace it for $60 and i could pick it up before 6:00 that same day. LESSON LEARNED? PC DOCTOR - NOT IN THIS LIFE TIME.. UPTECH - OH YEAH

May 29, 2009 I have used this company 3 times for 3 different repairs on two lap-tops. The turnaround was very fast and I couldnt have been more satisfied. Update Sep 19, 2009. Ive now used their services 4 times. My two-year-old decided it was time for daddy to get a new LCD screen for his laptop. I was told that it would be ready in 3 days. 2 hours later I was called and told that is was ready for pickup. Once again, excellent service. Like the other reviewer, I too have seen rudeness from the owner, but it was directed toward employees not me. Ive always been treated courteously from the owner as well from the other employees. Perhaps Ive been the exception.

I wouldnt recommend. I took my laptop in to get my screen replaced and it took them over two weeks because they ordered the wrong part, and then didnt bother to alert me that it would take longer than usual. So, one strike for lack of efficiency and another strike for communication problems. I got my computer back and not three days later, I set it down (SET IT DOWN. DID NOT DROP IT OR THROW IT) and upon opening my laptop, the screen was broken. Again. Strike three for simply bad repairs. I took it back for a refund and they gave me my money back, which was redeeming. But for now Im out of a laptop.

Took I phone 6S for a new screen. Picked it up and paid went straight to Verizon and put a new screen protector on the phone. Then I realized the phone was not working. Took it back to Uptech and left the phone with him a few hours and he had to put a new screen on my phone and when I told him that I had just bought a new protector he did not even say sorry. He should of tested the phone before giving it to me. I will not go in that store again. No great deal either paid the going rate.

I called and asked for help on the phone and these guys were really short and rude with me. I just asked a simple computer question and they couldnt answer it. The guy just kept saying "we cant do this, we cant do this" over and over even when I wasnt asking for something. Really weird business practice if you ask me. Got no help whatsoever. Wouldnt recommend this store to anybody.

I gave them my baby aka my laptop after having a horrible ordeal on an airline that broke my screen. The people were courteous and helpful. They gave me a day that it would be ready and it was. The price was reasonable. I love this place!

This company has replaced power supplies, keyboards on laptops, cracked screens and complete mother boards for me. I drive miles to get to them and always recommend them to my clients. Everything has always been repaired perfectly.
