I want to be clear that the manager, Alex, is very nice and did all that he could. I WAS a returning customer to Extra Space Storage. I had a wonderful experience a few years ago and decided to use Extra Space again. I signed my year lease and paid on Friday with the intent to move in Sunday. I hired movers which is not a small fee. Once we arrived at the unit we noticed the lock had not been removed. Panicked, I called the emergency line. I spoke with a representative who said she would get in touch with the manager. She ended up hanging up on me and never calling back. I called the store location and left multiple voicemails and even knocked on the door (someone lives on site). After exhausting all options, I had no choice but to leave the facility and drop off all of my belongings at a friend’s garage. You can imagine my frustration. Alex, the manager, called me right when they opened Monday (October 17th) and profusely apologized. Apparently, he never got my voicemails OR a call from the representative. I understand that people make mistakes and the lock not being removed was an oversight. However, I am now out more money than I budgeted, I still have to hire movers AGAIN to move my stuff, and Extra Space is hardly willing to compensate me for my troubles. Alex spoke to the powers that be and told me my options were 1 free month or a refund of my admin fees. 1 free month doesn’t cover movers AGAIN. The value doesn’t even cover the cost of having the movers go to a 3rd location. Alex felt badly and offered to give me one of his $25 manager discounts which I appreciated but again, still wouldnt break even. I said I would move my belongings in for 2 free months but they weren’t willing to do that. It’s ridiculous that Extra Space cannot compensate a returning customer more for their own mistake. Couple things they dont tell you : You must purchase insurance. An extra $15 a month minimum. Also, your rates are subject to change throughout your lease.

I have used this storage facility since it first opened, 30 plus years. The current management has the place clean and looking great. Sunday monitors the property regularly and makes sure units are secure and always knows who is on the property during business hours. I am a senior and often go by myself. It is nice to know she can monitor the property with security cameras and gets out and walks the property if she needs to. I feel safe working in the unit, even when I am alone. Great service.

My wife and I just left this location. We are not moving for a couple of weeks but decided to check it out, as we have never used self storage. Whitney was a blessing. She answered all of our questions and got us in on an amazing deal. Her confident and spunky attitude sealed the deal. We even told her, you have a lifelong customer. Very excited to see how the renovations are going to come along!

Sunday was really easy to work with. So extra friendly. The district manager also helped me and I love how she was so humble. The store is so clean and the whole process took less than 30 minutes. I was in and out. I love it and will recommend it to all my family and friends.
