I cant say enough good things about this place. A degree of honesty and integrity I havent seen in any auto repair business in my 36 years of driving. I recently paid $85 for them to repair an AC leak that the dealership had told me would cost $700 to fix. I was floored. I found Austin Auto Repair by looking at online reviews and am so glad I did. My car had to be towed in one day and they replaced my starter. When the manager/owner had the master mechanic review the records, he determined that it may have just been the battery cable. I just assumed it was the starter considering the high mileage on the car. Everything was fine from my standpoint and I happily left with my new starter. Then a received a letter from the manager/owner and a check in the mail. Out of the blue! They refunded all of my money except the cost of the battery cable. He even apologized! I never asked them to review the situation and did not complain. I assumed that it was the starter. They did this on their own. Ive never come across any auto repair shop like this. I am just blown away by their honesty and integrity. Oh, and I forgot to mention the great quality of their work and the relatively short wait times. And "no" I do not know these people (other than going to the shop). I will never go to any other repair shop. Even if you dont live in Oak Hill, it is worth the drive. These guys are amazing.

These guys have been awesome. Any time Ive talked to someone on the phone, they have been professional and clear. Their concern is for a well running car and happy customers. Their pledge to accurately & honestly diagnosis & repair your vehicle has been up held with my 2 cars that I have brought in. Once I had assumed my car was in very bad condition and informed James about the problem, they checked the parts I thought to be the problem, and came back with a much lower cost because the part in question was fine, and another part much easier to fix but associated with the original part was the problem.

My parents have been taking their cars here for 21 years (since it was just the owner working out of his home garage) and I have taken every car I have owned here. Great service and competitive prices. Where youll really save money though is by not having unnecessary work done. Gary is an excellent diagnostician, using sound and feel to verify the problem instead of just listening to what some computer tells him the problem is. They will explain the work clearly and in terms that an average driver can understand. Would recommend highly to anyone looking for an honest mechanic and fair prices.

I will never take my car anywhere else! Gary is always respectful and straightforward about what work needs to be done and what we should watch, but can wait on a bit. We only have the one car, so getting it worked on can put us in a bind at times, but hes great about working us in to a busy schedule with minimal disruption of our lives. Jarrett is an excellent and efficient mechanic and we always feel welcome and comfortable - even when I have a carload of kids with me. Pricing is fair and questions are always answered patiently and expertly.

This is the only place I take my car for whatever it needs! I feel blessed to find a car repair place that that is honest and I can trust. The owner and employees are wonderful, friendly, very helpful; and my experience has been that they have always done a great job on any work that Ive needed done, I can get my car in quickly, I know Im going to get a fair price and that only the work that is needed will be done. I credit this "discovery" to my 80 year old mother! We have been taking all of our vehicles to Gary, Jarret and now James, for years - I wouldnt even dream of going anyplace else! These gentlemen are true to their word, knowledgable, affordable and the most trustworthy and honest I have ever run across. If you have a car problem or just need your oil changed, this is THE place to go to. Worth it, in so many ways!
