Flamingo does great work and they stand by it. I have been going there for 10 years with my BMW and Volvo cars and they have saved me many $ as compared to repairs at the dealership. The owner, Joe, is very conscientious and always takes time to explain to me the repair and show me the work they have done. I really like this experience so I know what Im paying for as opposed the the experience at the dealer where you never talk to the mechanic and the service guys dont know what work was actually done on your car. If you want the dealer experience with free lattes, air conditioned waiting room and new fancy loaner cars, then Flamingo may not be right for you.

Went in with my 87 bmw 325e. All I needed was a smoke test to identify if I had any intake/vacuum hose leaks to chase down a fluctuating idle. Was told by Joe, the owner I assume, that he only knows 99+ cars well and refused to work on mine, although he had an identical customer car in the parking lot. Stating he didnt want to get too involved in it, and it wasnt worth his time. Like I said, all I needed was a basic smoke test, which is extremely common and easy to do. He referred me to another shop across town, which isnt ideal since I live about 30 seconds from Flamingo. I guess you have to beg people to take your money now? I dont get it.

I had my battery die right next door to the shop and though I had seen them many times, Id never stopped. I walked in and within 5 minutes they had written up a work order. Prepared to finish my ride into work on the bus, I walked back over to my car, to grab my bag, only to be met by one of them with the Jump Kit. Got my car started, drove over there and immediately worked it in to swap in the new battery, then looked over the rest of the engine, assured me everything else was in good shape, topped off my fluids and sent me on my way for a very fair price. I highly recommend the shop!! I will use them again for sure!.

My wife and I have been using Flamingo for 15 years over the lives of several cars. Their estimates have always been solid, everything they fix stays fixed, you get the sense that everyone there is intelligent and likes what theyre doing, and they are convenient to north-central Austin where we live. They certainly stay super-busy, but Ive never felt like I wasnt being taken care of. They are probably more expensive than other places you can take your car to, but I live central so I dont have to drive all over the place and besides, you get what you pay for.

Once went with a burnt-out headlamp on an eighth generation Honda Civic and was given an approximately $200 work estimate to have the bulb replaced (the reason I mention the make and model is because of this particular cars unorthodox setup that doesnt allow you to change the lightbulb through the hood. But yes, Ill admit to being a dolt). I opted for do-it-yourself and bought the lightbulb at an AutoZone, and with the help an attendent had it fixed for a total cost of $8. Based on that assessment, Id just say be careful with the work estimates.

Joe, You run a great shop. I have no hesitation referring anyone to your facility for the brands of automobiles you service. Being the owner of the Black Forest Werkshop and just werking on BMW Mini Cooper Porsche and Mercedes Benz - I can spot quality. You being in business for decades speaks for itself. When are people going to learn that if there were no problems they would not need you. I have no doubt you can satisfy any reasonable person who gives you the chance. More satisfied people should speak out.

I had to take my 2014 Mercedes in for a B-Service and I was most impressed with their knowledge and experience with these cars. Best part has to be the customer service. They are all very understanding and very cool. Everyone in the shop seems to want to help unlike the dealership. Added bonus, they have cars to use while yours is in the shop so youre not stuck without a car! I highly recommend this place.

I was referred to Flamingo Automotive and Im so glad I took the recommendation. Joe and his crew have been servicing my car for a few years now and I wouldnt think of going anywhere else. In fact, Im going to buy a new car (current one is 20 years old and going strong, thanks to them) and Im only going to buy one that Flamingo will work with. Who ever knew that someone could love a mechanic this much? :)

The best! Joe Lamping and his crew are the most knowledgeable, honest group of mechanics in the Lone Star State. Ive been going to Flamingo for twenty years -- bought three cars from Joe -- and have never once been disappointed. Joe will even let you know what to look out for down the line with your car, so theres no surprises. Its worth buying a German or Japanese car just to have them work on it.

I love this place! It is close to my work and my boss uses them which is why I went initially but their great service kept me coming back. I have an older VW and so it needs a few things done a year usually. They take great care of my car and dont do unnecessary work on it. I would definitely recommend them! Staff is friendly and helpful!

Fair prices and good work. Took ~a week to get my car back, but there were a lot of things that came up as they were working on it. Average communication, say that they will call back by lunch time and I ended up having to call them. Overall I would go back again (assuming the parts they fix hold up).

Their mechanics is helpful and friendly. However, the labor cost is a little bit expensive than expected. I spent 165$ only letting my brake adjusted and change the transmission fluid. It is really over my budget. However, the quality and service is reasonable.

Do not ever go to this auto-shop! They charged me $95 for conventional oil and filter change on my 2008 Corolla. Just for half an hour labor, they charged me $50. I went to them just because the previous owner used to take the car there.

Very knowledgeable, helpful staff. Always busy, which says good things about the place, though the mechanics always seem ready to stop and chat about what you need. I strongly recommend.

I rented two track cars from Flamingo, and it couldnt have been any easier. Made me think about selling my car and just using theirs. Great shop to take care of your car needs.

Joe (owner) is great. Not only did they clear a problem for much less than another shop told me would cost, but they were friendly and gave me a ride home! Highly recommended.
