BUYER BEWARE- WATCH OUT! DISHONEST I would highly recommend that you AVOID this dishonest and unethical company. I came in for a simple state inspection: the entire experience turned into a NIGHTMARE. Upon arrival, I was asked by the person in the front office for a copy of my insurance. Since the copy I had printed in my vehicle had recently expired, I asked if I could show him a digital copy (same insurance agent and policy number). He said that was fine and that he just needed to see it. I said no problem, just give me a few minutes to get that pulled up. Suddenly, this other guy burst in the door from the shop area speaking at me very rudely - almost yelling at me. He said he was going to fail me because I didnt have my insurance. I explained that I had insurance, I just needed a few minutes to get the digital copy to show. I also told him that I had explained this to the front desk person before the inspection was to begin. I ask the front desk person who this new guy was and why he was suddenly attacking me and being so rude. The front desk person said his name was Ruben Calzada and that he was the owner of the repair shop. Moments later my proof of insurance was ready. At that point I showed it to Mr Calzada - he then told me he was still going to fail me for my break pads. This is absolutely a scam. He never drove the vehicle nor did he do a thorough inspection of my brakes (didnt even take the wheels off). He failed me (in my opinion just to be a jerk!). My brakes are perfectly fine as they were recently inspected during an oil change at the dealership. It didnt matter, he still failed me. I literally drove down less than a mile and passed inspection without any issues. They saw his failure, carefully looked at the brakes - there were no issues and they gave me a pass within less than one hour of me leaving Master European Auto in Universal City, TX. I am going to file a complaint with the Texas Department of Public Safety, but wanted to also report the issues here. The owner still charged me and provided hostile customer service. Watch out for this company- I cant even imagine having a serious issue and having to work with them. ----- 10/4/16: My response to owners response: Again, owner Ruben Calzada once again, proves that he is a dishonest crook: there is no question or doubt that 1) I had current insurance and have never had a lapse in insurance coverage, 2) proof of insurance WAS PRODUCED at the time of inspection (before Calzada entered the bogus comments about my brakes), 3) my brake pads are completely fine as they were actually inspected by a creditable business within the following 20 minutes. 4) Calzadas admits he neither test drove the vehicle or even properly inspected the brakes by removing the wheel. 5) His failed inspection was thrown out within the same hour. I never expected Calzada to call my insurance. I asked his staff to wait a few minutes BEFORE starting the inspection until I received the digital proof, which THEY AGREED TO. Thats not what they did- Calzada started the inspection pre-maturely then got mad at me because he was getting locked out of the system (his words). He then started angrily telling me that I should come prepared. Guy was a class-A JERK! Then, in an act of stupidity and spitefulness he decided to abuse his position and make up some story about my brakes being bad just so he could fail my perfectly fine vehicle. A clear abuse of the system. I cannot stress enough how terrible the experience was. Going to this place of business is asking for trouble. I have filed a DPS report and was told by the DPS field supervisor that he is now under investigation. This guy and his company are BAD NEWS!

I went to Master European for a pre-purchase inspection. I dont live in San Antonio, but I was looking at a BMW in town. I chose Master European based on the reviews I read and the fact that they had the computer system to read the BMW specific codes. My experience was less than stellar. The best thing that I can say about them is that they were willing to work me into the schedule, since I was coming from out of town and dealing with a dealer that I had never met. They were able to read the codes and print them for me. And they charged me what they said they would. But thats where the positives end. For a pre-purchase inspection, you would hope that they would look at the different mechanical systems and tell you what was in good shape and what needed repairs. But at the end of the day, they misdiagnosed at least two problems, one of which should have been fairly obvious for anyone familiar with the vehicle. Luckily I have become fairly well versed in German vehicles over the years, so I had a pretty good idea of what was actually going on. I am lucky to live in a city with some excellent independent BMW mechanics. Im glad I didnt have to rely on Master European to actually do the repairs, because I have serious concerns about how much extra money I would have had to pour into the vehicle chasing their incorrect diagnoses.

I came across this place one day just by chance. I was trying to find a quart of oil for my mercedes after my on board diagnostics told me to stop and add a quart. All the local auto parts stores told me I would have to go to the dealership. I happened to drive by and notice the place and figured itd be worth a shot. Not only did they have the oil but they were nice enough to sell it to me at cost. The fact that they were willing to sell it to me instead of insisting I pay for them to put it in and that they would sell it to me at cost, definitely earned my future business. Ive since been back twice. The first was for my Service A, which was done at a cost that cant be beat. The other time was for my passenger side headlight. I did not have an appointment but they got me in quickly, got it done and did it at a great price. The father & son team here are good, honest and hard working people and will treat you right. They wouldnt even except my tip after my Service A was complete. I definitely recommend them to everyone! If you own a european make or even a domestic, do yourself a favor and stop here the next time you need something done. You wont be disappointed!

I have had the very fortunate opportunity to have all my european made vehicles serviced and repaired by Mr. Ruben Calzada and his son Ruben Jr. This dynamic duo are more than hard working and honest individuals. They are true professionals and know the true meaning of customer service. Most of you have seen or heard the complete horror stories when it comes to automobile mechanics and how at times they tend to take complete advantage of folks who know little to nothing when it comes to vehicles and especially europeon made vehicles. The past 5 years have been extremely comforting knowing I have a mechanic(s) I can truely rely on to assist me with my vehicle issues. Take it from a guy who is extremely skeptical about any type of service. Ive compared this shop to most and they always come out on top! I will continue to recommend them to all my contacts. Oh yeah, did I mention, everything is completely transparent with them, meaning garage wide open, they dont hide the "good news" or bad news"! If you need a good shop for your vehicle, look no further!
