Heart of Texas Moving was the worst moving company we have ever hired. My profession moved me over 10 times in 24 years, this is by far the worst experience, lowest quality, highest price and most damage to furniture we have ever had. The company quoted us $710 and charged us over $1400. Before we hired them we called to verify the quote against our inventory and against the size & weight of our furniture. We told them a few pieces were heavy and awkward, we went over the quote on the phone and in person when the movers arrived - No Problem was the response we received every time. PROBLEM, BIG PROBLEM..... The movers took twice as long to move less than inventory than we had quoted. They asked us to take them to Lowes to get moving equipment. They asked us to go to the store and buy them drinks. They spent most of their time on smoke breaks and talking about what they were going to do instead of actually moving things. They did not use blankets or straps to secure our furniture in the truck. They did not pack the truck efficiently resulting in having to make two trips (only after arguing with us about wanting to charge more than 200% of the value of the quote). When they did finally deliver the remainder of our belongings they left an electronic home gym and a TV on the driveway, at night. They placed moving tape directly on fine wood finishes causing the finish to partially be removed when the tape was taken off. They lost the stabilization bars for our entertainment center, the hardware for the kids beds and the screws & hinges for the refrigerator doors. We asked for a partial refund, we were told no. We asked for a furniture refinishing repairman, they said they would have "their guy" call us, but weve heard nothing from them and its been 3 weeks. It is our opinion that we fell prey to an online low-quote; bait & switch outfit who doesnt care about customer service or standing by their quote & their work. Edit to Owner Response: **Owner claims we were told at the beginning the move would take longer. This is not true. The foreman walked the home with us and NEVER told us anything about taking longer. NOR did we or were we asked to sign and acknowledge anything until the first truck was unpacked at the new home. **Owner claims the china cabinet had to be disassembled into 10 pieces? Impossible - The Owner is either mistaken or is being lied to by employees. The cabinet is not capable of being disassembled at all. The only thing the movers had to do was take out two stabilization clips - nothing else. But putting it on the truck on its side with no blankets then pushing it across the floor scratching a finish which was applied to the piece in Italy was a nice touch, thanks guys..... **We were informed they would perform the second part of the move at no charge, but then they withdrew that offer and insisted that we pay more, that initiated the conversations the Owner is referring to. It took over an hour late at night arguing with them to get them to do what they originally said they would do. **When I did speak with Tim, he let me know that a number of clients had recently put stop payments on checks to his company, I can understand why - it sounds like this level of service is congenital within the company. **It has still been 3 weeks since the move, no calls, no emails from them on a person to come and work on the finish damage to our furniture. Making bad things worse.....

BEWARE--DO NOT ENGAGE TIMS SERVICES IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME!!! Im kicking myself for not checking Google Reviews here and seeing the multitude of 1-star reviews before engaging Tim and his company to move a piano I agreed to buy from a seller. TERRIBLE communication, coordination, and business practices as well as general disregard for my time and the sellers time for an entire day so I had to end up firing him before he showed up. For those of you interested in the details: Tim seemed responsive and nice at first when I emailed him to set up the move. He and his crew was supposed to meet me at the sellers house by 10AM on 7/11/17 to move the piano so I coordinated with the seller to make sure shes there at that time. On the morning of the move, Tim texted me to unilaterally change the time of the move from 10AM to 1-2PM, which caused me to have to re-coordinate with the seller. Luckily she was available at the new time. I got my kids in the car and was on my way to the sellers house at the new time when Tim texted me to tell me that well have to change the time once again to 2:30PM because of poor planning on his side (his trailer not being ready because it has other stuff in it). I tried reaching out multiple times in the afternoon to gauge his ETA so I can coordinate with the seller yet again but I didnt hear from him for 2 hours until he finally called me back at 2:45PM to tell me that he had to go pick something else up and that hell meet me at the sellers house in 20 minutes. I got to the sellers house in accordance with his new ETA and when he still hasnt arrived 45 minutes later, I called him and he dismissively said hes still busy moving other stuff but that hes almost done. By then both myself and the seller have wasted an entire day coordinating to accommodate him, so I told him dont bother even coming. In response to each of his many 1-star reviews here, Tim has been obviously unapologetic, full of excuses, and surprisingly adept at rationalizing his own poor performance, so Im really curious what excuses and rationale hell fabricate in response to this review detailing the horrible attempt at service he was supposed to provide me today.

PLEASE BE AWARE! PLEASE READ!!! I called and spoke to Marshall Zimmerman of heart of Texas moving company approximately three weeks before our move. I had several questions about reliability and Marshall assured me that they had been in business almost 20 years in Austin and our move would be professional and our items would be protected against damage. Our move was less than a mile from one location to the other. Our move was scheduled to start on 12/27/ 2016 at 9 AM. The day of the move and time of the move came and went. I made four calls to heart of Texas movers and only got a recorded message. I sent an email to the email I had for Marshall Zimmerman and about 45 minutes later a gentleman who gave his name only as Tim texted me and said they were running behind. Tim said he was sending an extra man to expedite the move. When the crew did show up there were three men Richard the driver of the truck, Tyler who showed up in his own vehicle with a six-year-old daughter and a gentleman named Jim.. During the move in talking to the gentleman Richard was the only one who was a professional mover. Tyler had just been helping out for two weeks for extra money and Jim was someone they got for the day off of craigslist. During the move we observed Jim and Tyler taking one of the dressers out on a dolly and we saw them drop it on the ground. Richard assured us that the damage would be taken care of in a timely manner saying that we would hear from someone in the next 24 to 48 hours. We took pictures and it was noted on the receipt of the damaged piece. We reluctantly paid the invoice feeling that the company that has been in business almost 20 years would make it right! After almost 3 weeks several emails several , sent pictures again and left several voice messages they refuse to call us back and now we have a very severely damaged piece of furniture that we just bought six months ago! We are now filing a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU OF AUSTIN! PLEASE DONT BE PERSUADED BY THE GOOD REVIEWS! I want everyone to know who they are doing business with!
