On the expensive side but the service was impeccable. We have an old house. We knew we were opening a can of worms when we finally pulled the trigger to install a tankless water heater. A master plumber came to review the job (when he said he would be there), listened to our needs, put eyes on the pipe under the house and gave us a set of quotes for different equipment types and configurations before leaving our house. We started out with the recommended, mid-range option of a Noritz tankless gas-fired water heater relocated into a new mounting point on the outside of our house. That triggered a permit; which triggered a gas system inspection. The master plumber (Nick Moore) who gave us the quote, performed the work. If I would have any complaint, there was a gap between the time I responded with an acceptance of the proposal and the beginning of work of about two days - which seemed like an IT problem more than a willingness to get started; theyd mentioned that they were using a relatively new all-electronic system and a followup call resolved the gap. Much of the expense came from the re-plumbing of the gas lines which were old and rotting. We didnt have a leak at the time of initial inspection, but a gas line inspection is performed using air @ double the pressure that it operates at typically - which meant a lot of our pipes which didnt leak under normal use failed. There were obvious points of corrosion and the work needed to be done. Nick discussed with me the condition of the pipes and explained that "we dont know what will happen" as the system is inspected. For two days after the install of the water heater, additional costs came as replacement pipe and labor added up. But based upon the way the work played out, I think theyd built in appropriate contingencies, used quality materials and I feel we definitely got our moneys worth out of the job, which took about a week all told from start of work through inspection. As someone whos done a good bit of handyman work in the tight crawlspace under this old Austin house - I have the highest amounts of respect for Nick and his helper Gus. I know it was hard, uncomfortable, grueling work - but they performed it ably, never complaining, always keeping a calm demeanor when faced with the disappointments that come with trying to chase down leaks in a very old gas system. Rather than lay us out over the barrel - which they certainly were in the position to - there was a decision to see the job through to completion for basically the cost of getting the truck out of their lot on the final day of work, which was respectful of verbal commitments regarding potential incipient costs that Nick had set forth at the beginning of the project. The Navien 180p unit that was installed is whisper quiet and though larger than some units Ive seen installed at friends homes - has a high-quality appearance and the install is very professional and has all the fittings for the yearly descaling maintenance tasks. Its hard inviting a stranger into your home and paying them "a ton" of money to do work that you think that if you were younger, smarter and/or better trained you could do yourself; but that puts me also in the frame of understanding what can be known and what is not knowable at the beginning of a project. Understanding the basics of plumbing helped me understand why the recommendations and decisions (the use of more expensive Gastite flexible piping for one stretch but switching back to blak iron for another, for instance) were being made. There was a particularly hot, humid, frustrating day when I would not have blamed Nick if he left our driveway and never returned. But he did. Both my wife and I feel tremendous gratitude to Nick, Gus and Radiant plumbing for seeing us through this project. If you want it done right and want a plumber who will stick with you when the going gets tough - I recommend Radiant.

This company and their staff went the extra mile. I was home on a Friday with no knowledge of how to shut off a water heater that went. It was leaking everywhere. I was panicking. They just happened to come up first in my Google search for 24-hour plumbers. I have American Home Shield but this was a holiday weekend and the soonest they could have anyone even look at it was Tuesday. I spoke with this company and heard the first indication that this was an expensive job and not just because its a holiday weekend. They are a smaller plumber in this big market. They were so kind and understanding. Even after I told them I called another company they had their plumber J.R. call me back. He walked me through shutting off not only the water heater but the gas. He also told me I could call him back if I needed to and I wasnt even their customer yet. Amazing! When all was done I made several phone calls and found that the price quoted sight unseen was right in the ballpark and in fact lower than ARS and two other companies. As for Minyard who has done several recent jobs for me $(1,000 worth of work), they had someone to answer their phone but no one to call me back or help me in any way. Radiant was willing to come out and do what they could that night if necessary. Their phone attendant was so kind (Sandy? I think) and called me back about an hour later to see if I had talked to J.R. and to see if there was anything else they could do that night. I love the follow-up! After thinking long and hard about this (24 hours without hot water was all that I could take) I called this company back at noon on Saturday. They were aft my house by 5 PM and removed the old and installed the new water heater. The plumber J.R. Was phenomenal in that he made a very difficult day (valentines day and a problem) much easier to deal with and in the end it cost less than the original price quoted. No one is ever happy when dealing with costly issues but its nice to know that theres a company out there that understands that and provides options for keeping costs down instead of finding ways to charge more. I will NEVER use another plumbing company. If youre a smart and savvy consumer my review may save you time when trying to find the right plumber. Long I know but I needed to say it all.

Our home is only two years old so I was very panicked when three plumbing issues cropped up all in one weekend. (Note: one of the issues had occurred twice previously and when I called the original plumbing company that had done the install and repairs they basically said they dont really warranty their work for more than 90 days and when I requested a different plumber than before to re-fix the issue I was told no the same plumber would be sent out again. WOW! To add insult to injury we would have to wait a FULL four days for someone to come out and diagnose the issue and then I would need to call back to schedule the actual repair!) Anyways, enter Radiant Plumbing. The phone operator for Radiant Plumbing was very nice and concerned about our issues and said she could have someone out the NEXT DAY (and no extra weekend charge!) to diagnose AND fix the problems. Joel Barker was our service specialist and he was AWESOME! He fixed our slow-draining tub (lots of girls in our house) and our severely clogged toilet (some little boys thought it would be a great idea to flush a roll of papertowels down the pipes). The third issue required a part (new shower cartridge) for our thermostatic valve and Joel recommended the line should probably be cleared of sediment (something the other company never did or suggested which will ultimately keep causing a cartridge failure according to the manufacturer -- ROHL). And before doing any work Joel wrote up a proposal detailing the work and charges to see what we agreed with and what we didnt agree with...We thought all of the proposed charges were reasonably-priced -- I mean no one works for free, right?!?!? Anyways, we liked that our "visit fee" was waived/applied to the labor costs if we decided to proceed with the work. (Note: The old company we used did not do that and their "visit fee" was double!) Truly, I am not here to bash another company but simply want to show how much our eyes were opened using Radiant Plumbing after two years of headaches from the other company. Overall, very positive experience with Radiant Plumbing. We would definitely use Joel Barker from Radiant Plumbing again in the future!
