Pros: Speedy, friendly, no bologna service. They have a shuttle if your service is lengthy, drivers attitude was quite amicable even at 730am so that was a blessing. Their waiting area has a comfy red leather couch (pictured). Sitting in the couch, and I mean "in the couch, " you unexpectedly melt away, a subject of its gentle caress. I lounged for about 5 minutes, waiting for the shuttle, and it was the best 5 minutes of my day. The waiting area has coffee from a Keurig. Not a big coffee man myself but I dont like the appearance of those 1960s drip-drop coffee makers so I was pleased to see a more modern look. Continuing on that, the modern styling of the Keurig clashed somewhat brilliantly with the overall decor. Very 1950s, red, white and black interior which fits in with the retro-trendy chic for which Austin is so well known. An antique Coca-Cola cooler, now repurposed as a TV stand, (pictured) seals the room together. Bravo to the design team. Cons: P Terrys is approximately 20 feet away but Im trying to get shredded for summer so those dont mix. Cheat day for me I guess. Daily juice is also 20 feet away if you have more discipline and less taste buds than I do. (thats a review for another time) I dont live close to this location, nor do I have any business on Burnet, but I suppose thats more of a personal con than one that might affect a reader. Ill leave it anyway.

My first experience here at Tech One Automotive was great - free wifi, will shuttle you back to your home/work, and overall friendly staff. However, I was pretty disappointed with the experience my second visit. My front windows were no longer working, so I decided to take it in to have them take a look. After their initial inspection, they let me know that the window motors in each window would need to be replaced, and the passenger window would need a new guide track - $269 per motor, the track, plus labor - came out to just over $700. This seemed pretty steep, so I declined and worked on it myself. When I got the window open, the motor worked just fine, and the only thing that was wrong was that the window had detached from the bottom track, so the window would just fall to the bottom of the door - something a mechanic should have been able to diagnose and fix in 5 minutes with no parts. Opened up the passenger door and similar situation there, the motor worked fine and all I had to do was replace the side guide track. These problems were very obvious, so after I saw that it seemed like they were just trying to get extra money out of me for what should have been a simple fix (and for about $500 less than what they quoted me) by their mechanics.

What can I say, these guys are the BEST! Ive never left an auto shop with a smile on my face until I discovered Tech One Auto. Any girl knows that were not exactly taken seriously when it comes to anything auto related... unless you actually know something about cars I suppose. Not the case here. They explained EVERYTHING in a way I could understand without throwing all those mechanic terms at me to which you just have to smile and nod. I have taken my car there twice and will never go anywhere else. The second time I took my car in, it had so many problems I couldnt even get it inspected. They told me which repairs were absolutely necessary and which ones were not. When I told them that I was thinking of just cutting my losses and trading in the car, they told me they have buyers for cars that need extensive work and would check it out for me. Of course they kept their promise. They didnt even charge me for the initial diagnosis even though I didnt end up getting the repairs done and just traded in the car. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND TECH ONE AUTO TO EVERYONE!!!

My experience: Pros: Prompt response, Friendly staff, Free service Cons: Had to leave work early to pick up car because shop closes at 6pm On the evening of Monday, October 10, I noticed my cars occasional popping noise coming from the front axle area started happening a lot more frequently. I researched shops in Austin and Tech One Automotive had the most best reviews. I went on their website and noticed I could schedule an appointment, so I ended up submitting (some time past 11pm) an appointment to drop off my car the next morning at 8:30am. The next morning I received an email confirmation at 7:14am and dropped the car off at 8:34am. I received a call at 2:27pm, but due to meetings, was unable to return the call until 3:36pm. To my surprise, David said my car was ready and there would be no charge as it was a simple fix and I was a first-time customer. Way to make an impressive first impression! I was so excited about this that I told my coworkers and roommate and the first question they asked was, "Whered you go?" "Tech One Automotive"

These guys are just wonderful!! They truly went above and beyond to help me, more than any other auto shop Ive ever encountered. Instead of worrying about my car and the fees and travel arrangements and everything else involved with a car that has broken down, these guys took the wheels and made my nightmare into such a simple and pleasant experience from start to end! They dropped me off at my workplace a few blocks away, lent me a car while mine was in the shop since I live over 45 minutes away, and they were friendly, upfront, and informative. I never felt uneasy around them at all or worried about over charging. My car is on its last few breaths, and Ive been managing to fix it myself as Ive gone along, but there are some things I just cant do myself and these guys were able to help - offering services not offered by other shops for my old car. I trust them, love their roomy, comfortable shop and k-cups coffee, and Ive already referred a friend to them!! Great job guys with your customer service and thank you for everything!! :)

Quality service for a driver in need - My cars brakes started acting up over the weekend and I took my car into these guys. Being very weary over repair shops that try to nickle and dime you - I decided to give these guys a good shot after reading past reviews. Took my car in with a loud scraping sound coming from the back - first thing in the morning. Once in the shop they told me they would look at it within the hour - which they did - I waited in the seating area. They came out with an estimated price which was about what I was expecting to replace brake pads and discs and told me it would be done in about an hour to an hour and a half - they got it all done in less than that. While waiting in the shop I noticed that they treat their customers right and will give them a lift to work if their car needs to be worked on during the day. They were also very knowledgeable when I asked them what might have worn down my brakes. I will go back to these guys for any further service needs. If your in the area - best option hands down.
