Auto repair and sales dont get any better than this, anywhere! Southwest Auto rocks for any car repair or sale. Ive owned two Volvos, and would not consider taking my cars anywhere else. Ive referred multiple friends and they all have not just good, but great honest experiences with this family-owned shop. Perfect? No...servicing and selling cars is art, not an exact science. Southwest practices the art. And every interaction Ive ever had has been positive in the end. They are honest, fair and skilled at what they do. I highly advise checking this shop out. Theyve taken care of my cars, helped do inspections of cars I have purchased, and helped me sell cars I needed to trade out. Ive just purchased a BMW, and theyll get my business on it, too. Heck, theyve even worked on my Tahoe. Yes, youll read a negative review on here or two....but also read that they made good on each and every customers issue. Heck, no one can diagnose a car with exactness these days, but they can sure stand behind the work. Even one of the complainers below got all of his money back except his diagnostic fee. Now what shop have you ever been to has ever done that upon request? Thats integrity with an I. Pricing? A fair deal every time. Prices always below the dealer, and, an approach to repair that respects your pocketbook. Great repair, and great value. Check these folks out. As for me, I dont and wont go anywhere else.

Early August in evening rush hour traffic, 100+ degrees outside and my S80 completely died on 635 just west of I-35. No motor. No electrics. Just brakes and steering for some reason. In a panic I pull off onto center shoulder. Its hard to imagine a worst case scenario. I quickly realized I am just about two miles from Southwest Auto who have helped me in the past with my Volvos. Long story short, in about 20 minutes I am sitting in their air conditioned lobby sipping cool water because THEY CAME AND PICKED ME UP AND SCHEDULED A TOW FOR MY CAR. Needless to say they have earned my loyalty for life. My S80 has otherwise been a reliable car and when it turned 100K I decided to shoot for 200K. I hope I dont have a need for a lot of service, but if I do I know where Im going. They have always gone above and beyond and been 100% trustworthy. On a previous service I thought I had damaged my A/C system trying to refill freon myself (dont do this!). I was expecting a BIG repair. They were able to diagnose the issue then flush/refill system for around $150 as I recall. This is not your typical independent European service facility. Much more like a dealer experience with without the dealer prices. And they are true Volvo enthusiasts as you can tell when you enter the lobby and chat with the counter help. If I had a BMW, SAAB, Audi or Mercedes I would have no hesitation about using Southwest Auto.

Honest & friendly people here! After 2 other shops and the dealer, Im at the point to throw out my BMW, but my friend suggested I give this shop a try. I took it in for an Oil/Filter change, and I ended up going back the next day for more services. Not only the price is reasonable, they dont quote something unnecessarily, I just had my battery replaced by the dealer before I went to Southwest Auto, for reference, they quote me at 60% of what I paid for at BMW of Dallas, Oil Service is at 50% of the dealer quote, there are other ways to compare prices, but this is one way how I know they had been reasonable. I just want to give them a shout-out, for being good & honest! **Update** After a year, this shop is still my favorite!! My BMW X3 has 70k miles on it, the warning light comes up here and there. Each time they took the car in as soon as they can and inspected accordingly. The diagnosis is always consistent with BMW forum discussion. The latest Service Engine Soon light caused by loose valve, they addressed it right away without other extra work. I really appreciate their honesty!

I have been a SW Auto customer for years and it has been a good experience in terms of relying on SW Auto to advise us on what the car needed, what it didnt need and performing competent repairs when necessary. They have also been very helpful offering up advice when I called in with questions about my DIY projects to the car or when I had a general question at times when the car presented with a new or unusual symptom. We have relocated to the Georgetown area and I have an even greater appreciation for SW Auto in that the work that SW Auto performed was done properly and with quality parts. That hasnt been quite the case since our move and the S60 needed some repairs since we relocated. Theres a lot to be said for an honest, competent shop like SW Auto that does things right the first time. And I hope to eventually find a shop in this area that I will be able to have as much confidence in as I did in SW Auto. Thanks again to Rick, Jerry, Jon, the mechanics and the entire crew at SW Auto.

My Volvos will only go to Southwest Auto. My partner and I currently live in San Antonio and Southwest Auto is so good we take them to Irving because no one fixes our cars and takes care of us like Southwest Auto. The staff is always friendly an helpful, as well as knowledgeable of all cars. When you call the front desk it doesnt matter who answers the phone, everyone knows about you and your vehicle. I hate taking my car to a mechanic and Southwest Auto has changed my opinion on mechanics and the services they provide. I gladly pay to have my cars fixed and fixed correctly the first time without any hassle. Southwest Auto provides these benefits and they do it smiling. I happily make this personal statement on behalf of my partner Joe and myself. Southwest Auto is the best auto repair shop we have ever been to and we intend to continue our business with you indefinitely. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to running a great business.

I had two unpleasant experiences with South West Auto. My Volvo was there for reapring an oil leak which they did. There was another problem. When car is accelerated, the A/C fan will shut down. They told me I needed new check valves to fix it. They charged me around $90 for that. But the problem still persisted. So they told me that I need a new servo motor. Cost $400 !! I wasted $90. Second time I took my car there because it was running very rough. They told me that I needed new ignition coils and spark plugs. Cost about $700. I told them to go ahead. They replaced but the problem still persisted. They told me that one of the valves in 2nd cylinder was leaking. Cost to repair $2900. I objected so they did reinstalled the old ignition coils and spark plugs but chrged me $90 for diagnosis. I got the valve job done for $2300 somewhere else.

I recently brought in a Volvo S60 that I was considering buying from a Dealership down the road. Southwest offers a vehicle inspection for $89 and it found $3600 worth of repairs that I would need to have fixed on this $4900 car. I admitted to John the owner of Southwest that I did not know much of Volvos and he took a good 30-45 mins out of his busy day to give us a tour of his shop and educate my 19yr old and I about Volvos vs other European cars. John even went out of his way to put us in contact with a wonderful customer who was selling his Volvo 240 that John has been serving since 1993. Needless to say we bought the mint condition Volvo 240 as my sons first car and now John and Southwest Auto has a customer for life !! He will continue to service "Nellie" the Volvo 240 for another 25 years. Lol Thank again John & Southwest Auto !!!
