The Robinsons

I have been going to the Monticello location for years. They do have a large selection of pasta and veggie salads, but its so much hit and miss that I almost always get the same thing - entree and a green salad. The entrees are often too salty. Same for the casseroles - I wont buy them, they are too salty. I do feel like the quality has gone down a lot over the last year or two. They recently changed the format so they are offering fewer entrees, even though prices continue to rise. Ive had two chicken dishes recently that were just nasty - the meat was tough and chewy at the same time. Sometimes it seems as leftovers are thrown together for the to-go customers, which is great if the food is good. But re-purposing old, gross chicken as a wrap or sandwich? Cmon. Im about done. I dont mind paying a little more for the convenience, but I can find better to-go food at a grocery store deli.

I like Two Sisters overall. Their food is well put together. Flavors are usually outstanding and it has this homey taste in a really good way. I only eat there when I have to because it is too pricey for me, especially just for a lunch. Turkey pastrami is one of my favorites. I also had a Veggie sandwich which at first I was a little apprehensive to eat but the bread was soft and had good flavor. The veggies were grilled and melted in my mouth and the honey mustard sauce was too sweet for my taste but had enough mustard flavor to tie it all together. Their lemon bars are way to sugary. Coffee less than desirable. The best part is their tiny desserts. .50 - 1.00 mini desserts. Lemon bars, brownies, bar cookies.

Two Sisters just amazed me. If there is a firm in Dallas that treats their customers as well as Two Sisters treated us, I would love to find it. The food was of course fabulous. But their thoughtfulness and care for us as customers exceeded pretty much any customer experience I have had in many years. When we called to postpone our party because my wife was in the hospital, they not only let us apply our deposit to a future party, they sent over a complimentary dinner to the house to help me feed the kids. They are amazing.

I used to live across the street at the Marquis, so walking here was sometimes the best option. I found that they had a lot of really tasty items, however some of the sides seemed to be a little bland/lacking in flavor. All of their products were very fresh every time I went though. The staff is always friendly and helpful as well. They will answer any questions you may have about their food. Never had them for catering, but their desserts are tasty, so I keep them in mind for any future catering needs.

Best. Lunch. EVER. I had a tomato goat cheese quiche with a side of orange shrimp rigatoni pasta, cranberry spice tea & a cherry limeade bar for desert - it was FANTASTIC. Excellent food paired with a quiet, quaint atmosphere with a friendly staff. Definitely going back. Highly recommend!
