I wish I could give this review an N/A on the stars, because its probably a four or five star if you really like to do cardio. Its hard to rate a place down because it doesnt cater to you, but anyhow... The place is LOADED with cardio equipment. If I had to guess, probably 100+ machines. However, NONE of their dumb bells go over 60lbs, and they only have one set of 60lbs. They only have "Smith Machines" for bench pressing/squats, etc. Smith machines prevent your muscles from being used to stabilize your range of motion, which means you are getting less workout when you use them, in most cases. Also, many experts agree that using the Smith machine to do squats can be somewhat dangerous for your knees because the range of motion is set in place by the rack and doesnt allow your body to move in its natural range of motion. For example, if your body has a slightly different curve/angle when squatting the machine is unforgiving and forces your body into a different position, which is never good. Anyhow, if you like to lift free weights, this place is not for you. If you every-once-in-awhile go to the gym to lift weights and do a couple of low weight sets just to make yourself feel better, or perhaps if you are a female that doesnt need to lift heavier free weights, this place might be for you. Ultimately if you want to go and do dumb bell bench presses, regular bench press with a bar, squats, curls, or anything associated with good free weight workouts, avoid this place like the plague.

Planet Fitness still has great package deals, but about a year ago managment decided that it was best to get rid of all free weights that could cause customers emotional pain. Im of average strenght, and like most people i have absolutley no problem seeing another person lift more than i can; in fact it motivates me too work out even more; other people dont care and thats fine too. If your in the other category then Prozac is right for you. Planet fitness managment would also agree with me on my last comment. Here is the truth; lowering our standard is our thing now days. Im not talking about the caliber of the people im talking about your decision to get rid of the heavy weights in order to hire less employees, because racking those weights takes man power isnt that right planet fitness managment

No me gusto porque me dijeron que tenian un instructor que daba las rutinas, y me dieron cita para que me dijera la rutina, pero hiba y siempre estaba ocupado porque tenia mucha gente, aunque solo se necesitaba un poco de tiempo par darme indicaciones y yo hacerlas solo, ya paso un mes y hasta entonces no me ha atendido, mejor voy a ir a otro gym donde sean más respondables...

So far, so good...I just joined about a week ago. While it can get crowded during peak hours, they have more than enough weight machines and cardio equipment. I dont really use too many of the free weights, as I am a disabled veteran, but they have dumbells and smith machines. Keep in mind that this place caters to normal everyday people, not egotistical wannabe bodybuilders. I pay $20 a month for the Black membership and get unlimited tanning (scheduled), tokens for the massage chairs, can use ALL of the equipment (even the 30-minute circuit). They must have fired the rude people at the desk, as I have had nothing but friendly service. IF YOU WANT AN INEXPENSIVE GYM ENVIRONMENT THAT CATERS TO NORMAL PEOPLE, THEN THIS IS FOR YOU.

En este lugar en el área de Locker ya van 2 veces que abren el mio anda alguien ahí profesional para abrir candados de convinacion..así que les aconsejo que no lleven dinero en sus carteras porque me ha tocado sufrir 2 robos en este lugar..Y ellos no pueden hacer nada porque no tienen sistema de camaras

AMANDA one of the worker, she is one of worse as well Very rude, has a very strong attitude, disrespectful plus she is a lier I cancelled and ask for a receipt, she said we cant give one!!! But the guy he went ahead to and printed for my while she was laughing. I wish I can buy the respect from the store so I can give it to her Cant believe why the keep such a rude person in this place

As soon as I walked in the meat head wanna be couldnt even get my name correctly after 4 times of repeatng myself. I explained I lost my wallet but had my ID and was waiting for a new debit and credit card. He dismissed me and told me I didnt need to be there. So I went to Ep fitness. They treated me with class and respect as it should be. Planet fitness is a joke

I agree about the attitude - i tolerate it, because its cheap and close to home, but would it hurt them to actually acknowledge you as you say "hi" to them! I was waiting, and waiting the other day for someone just to check my id#, meanwhile some guys come in after me, and the girl runs right over to them and signs them in? Just rude...

Worst customer service ever. Moved away and cant cancel service. Got charged for 2 more months of service when I hadnt been to a gym for 3 months. Explained that I moved away and tried to cancel several times but they force you to write them a letter through the mail. Its a bad business model and screws over the customers.

Its my home gym. Its a good gym and rarely ever have to wait for a machine. Needs a sauna though but as I hear it everywhere in El Paso needs one, nobody has one .

Its ok, kinda hard to get a squat rack, although new addition of dumbells are good. but u have to fight with ths hydromassage just to get it to work right.
