My friends Gabachos.... I was Armandoss client since I was a baby. I am not Mexican so I did not know better of the taste. I grew up eating bitter enchiladas, dry rice, oily sauce, salty soups, over cooked vegetables, and I believed margaritas were amazing to a point I stop dinking them because every time I had one I woke up next day with a hang over. So one day I took my Mexican friend to Armandos and suddenly he asked me to leave because everything from service, to the horrible taste Wine base margaritas (Not tequila base be-careful with your liver:(... so he took me around to the original Tex-mex cuisine and I was amazed by all the quality of food, great service friendly staff. I felt fresh just by seating on the atmosphere. one thing about Armandos is that they do not clean the walls neither the floors or carpet. they have nasty fans blowing the dust around while you eating imagine all the germs, But that was the only place I could go eat because is a block away from my house. To what they charge for a meal or a drink is totally over price. So I visited yesterday and I took my oriental friend and he was also discussed by the food.. while eating the manager asked us to move to another table because they were setting up for a party of 40 people. Imagine chewing nasty food, bad service, paying and on top you get moved around like their mamas tortillas. Also while we were eating manager decided to have a family talk with all the staff while were in need of water, and on top of that she had her behind on the table you will eat your next meal. Also if its consider fine dining (why in the world you have to eat on top of sheet of paper that protects real table cloths) TABC should inspect what they mix on liquor, and health depart should shut down the service of their nasty food. This restaurant is an insult to the real Tex-Mex cuisine. So my friends do not be afraid of exploring.

On a Monday evening, I decided to have dinner from Armandos (I opted for take-away). Its close to a major thoroughfare, and who doesnt enjoy decently-priced Tex-Mex? I sat at the bar, and the bartenders were very attentive. I ordered a glass of wine, and enjoyed the ambiance until I ordered my meal. Since I decided on the crispy beef tacos, I wanted to order at the last possible moment (and not be obnoxious doing so) to avoid soggy tacos. When I arrived to my destination, I was pleasantly surprised by not only my perfectly packed tacos, but tortilla chips and salsa! Almost needless to say, I was a happy camper! I will definitely be visiting again, this time, to dine in.

We went there this past Saturday and were very disappointed. The food tasted good but did not like the margarita at all. Prices are too high, the staff was not friendly, too cold (AC blowing on us - in January) and too dark (could barely read the menu). Additionally, force you to valet park as they put cones in the shopping plaza parking spaces, even though they are for other stores that are closed for the evening. Chuys (next door) or El Tiempo are much better Mexican food restaurants.

Celebrated an anniversary here on a Saturday night. It was our first time visiting. The atmosphere is very nice - a little loud. The bartender was very attentive and the drinks were very good. Tacos al Carbon with homemade flour tortillas and Crab Enchiladas were excellent. Not quite 5 stars (for me) as the entire parking lot is forced valet and we waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation.

One of the best meals we have had for some time. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the creamy dressing was suburb. We had flan for dessert - it was the smoothest we have ever eaten and the sauce was tasty. Our waiter, Manuel, was attentive and efficient - ask for him. We will definitely return - a bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion.

This place was absolutely delicious and so cheap! It was definitely worth the small drive to come here on a Saturday night. For $3 I got the pollo and Armandos as well as the horchata. The asada was a little dry, Id really like to try el pastor next time. The pollo was very good! Will definitely make my way back here again!

This place is an upscale Mexican restaurant. If youre sick of typical, check it out. The food was great, but the real treat is their Thursday night dancing. They clear out the tables and crank up the music and it becomes a great spot to have a little fun.

There are many restaurants in town with much better guacamole. Theirs is far from top notch. Two tiny spinach enchiladas were $17, way over priced especially given the serving size.

Food was OK. Large portions but fairly generic. Margaritas were similar. In short, nothing wrong with it, but Id expect much better Southwestern food in Houston.

One star is too much for them. Worst experience that I ever had from management , to the service and food quality . For sure it was my first and last time there.

Delicious food and wonderful service, convenient parking in spite of the construction work on the street outside. Make sure not to miss the turn.
