Called in order for take out at 10:30 pm-ish after not having time to eat all day. Restaurant doesnt close until 11pm, yet I wasnt greeted, and the staff was obviously in shut down mode, and told to go to other end of bar to pay & pick up. Bartender wasnt rude, but certainly seemed uninterested in any type of greeting, hospitality or expression of appreciation. As typical practice, he quickly opened the box and I asked about chicken & he pointed to foil - ok - but closed it quickly, and when I got home it was basically lettuce and walnut crumbs and few of those at that, and a tiny bit of cheese. Nothing else included for the Black Walnut salad. The bread had been sitting somewhere for likely hours - very tough, and about as cold as the ciabatta I pulled out of my fridge that after I MICROWAVED was much better than what I was given w my order. This is the 2nd time Ive been extremely disappointed in Black Walnut - last time was a couple of years ago-again w takeout at lunch & got back to my office & had a fly in the salad. I was so disgusted I threw the whole thing away & called the restaurant and was asked what kind of fly - was it a fruit fly? What, does that cost extra? This is the last time Ill patronize black walnut. For what appears it should be a decent restaurant, paying $12+ for lettuce, walnut crumbs and a little bit of chicken and lousy bread, black walnut should consider closing this location. Not sure other locations are as lousy, but poor service, lousy food & quality control makes for an abysmal experience. Get your act together w your staff, quality control or close your doors & quit ripping people off.

This place was really a present surprise, for years I always passed by this place without really acknowledging it. Luckily I came across the restaurant on Google Maps, instead I would try it the next day. When I went there and looked at the menu and saw the variety of food that they had from breakfast - dinner, I knew that I would really love this place and the prices were pretty darn good. The ambience in the places actually outstanding for a business meeting, there were plenty of other people in there and you can hardly hear any noise and they also have a bar that you can order any alcoholic beverage that suited you. I really recommend this place to people ranging from businessman to the average runner thats just finish running Memorial Park for Allen Parkway for the variety and the food and the outstanding prices and the kindness of the staff members there. Try anything and I believe that you be satisfied.

This was our first time eating at this location. The food here is just as delicious as the location in Rice Village however, the staff isnt as friendly as the staff at Rice Village location. They arent rude, theyre just not super welcoming as the staff at Rice Village. We started with the chips, salsa and guacamole followed by a three pepper burger & fries and a black bean burger & fries. The food was tasty and warm. This the first time trying their iced coffee and I was not disappointed! Keep in mind that the staff doesnt help carry your food to your table. So if you sit out on the patio and your party has multiple people, maybe have 2 people bring the food and drinks back to the table. Parking was easily accessible. #LocalGuides

Went this past Sunday for bunch with some teammate from work. I ordered a egg, spinach, and mushroom omelet and a latte. The food was really good and the atmosphere was good. Its set up to where you order food and find you own table. The only issue I have is that you had to go back to get your food and beverages once they were ready. I have no issue with making the trip for my items, but my plate was extremely hot, I could have easily received burns on my hands or dropped my plate. This could be a major issue in the future for someone more sensitive to temperatures. Many others in my group had excessively hot plates and I overheard it from other customers as well.

Really enjoyed this place. Went there for breakfast. They do breakfast very well. You can go in for either counter service or regular table service. They have a wide variety of menu items that are amazing. I really enjoyed the pancakes that I had there. They were light, fluffy, and tastes just like you would make at home. I loved the coffee. I thought it was nice how they heated the mug before they gave you the mug. This is a nice touch that many coffee houses totally miss. I went there for a weekday breakfast and we werent rushed at all. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast and look forward it trying it for other meals.

Ive been to BWC twice with friends, and I loved the atmosphere on both trips. The first time I went in the evening. The whole venue was active and friendly. Waiters were helpful, and my order went through fast. The second time I went for brunch and we sat at their outside area, which was relaxing and quiet. Their set menu is really easy to order from and their wine list is great too. I especially like the bar area and how the seats are arranged around it. It is a good place to hang with friends and colleagues after work, or to get a quick bite during the day.

Not as good as the Woodlands location, which I am disappointed about since I just moved to the Memorial area. Nearly all the outdoor seats are covered in bird droppings. I got my usual Cobb Salad that I order at the Woodlands Black Walnut, and unfortunately the same dish at the Memorial location tastes completely different. The garlic bread was hard and lacked flavor. The vegetables were not fresh. The chicken had a lot more fat on it that I spit out. This is probably why the line is always out the door at the Woodlands, but not at Memorial.

Very good food all day long for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The concept is pretty interesting because it feels like a traditional restaurant especially in terms of the quality of the food but you order first then sit down and wait for the buzzer that tells you your food is ready. The service is great and the employees will help you with anything you need. Everything Ive gotten here has been really good so cant really go wrong. They also have a great selection of freshly brewed iced teas that I love.

Food is always tasty. Service is fast. I ordered a kolache and it came on a plate that made it look even smaller than it was. I asked if anything else came with it that I should wait for; the girl said no. The guy behind her jumped and said "Want some salsa?" It was the perfect thing to say in that moment because it added an extra value that made me happy with my choice. Well done. "I always like salsa with mine" he said as I walked away. Turns out the kolache didnt need anything else. It was great.
