Pay close attention to what you are signing on the initial check in sheet !!! Otherwise you will pay for thing you dont authorize for !! I brought my laptop to figure out why it is slowing down. James said he will run a complimentary diagnostic screening. He said he will call in 24-48 to explain what the problem. He clearly said he is not going to do anything before he gives me the call. Apparently, he installed the Windows and called to inform me that the computer is ready to pick up. When I asked why I was not called to authorize the procedure, James said that since I already initialed and signed the sheet, then they dont have to call. James completely and surprisingly denied that he ever said he would call me to explain what the defect was. He even denied saying he was going to run a complementary diagnostic screening test. He kept saying that he has a proof that I signed the initial sheet ! Eventually, instead of charging me 79.99, he charged me 50$. I kept saying, and I say that again and again, it is not about the money ! When you tell me you are going to run a free diagnostic screening test and get me to initial on that, of course I will initial and sign because I trust what you tell me. I didnt read what the sheet says because I simply, and stupidly, trusted what you SAID. The other guys in the office, including the manager Paul, are very respectful and professional. I have used this place in the past. One of the reason I returned back is that every single step was authorized by me before it was proceeded. In fact, that was one of the reason why I signed the sheet this time because that what exactly happen the first time, I was called for every single step ! James kept denying that he said he will run a complementary screening test and kept saying that is not true; making me feel like I was lying ! I thought that was very disrespectful. I have taken a picture of the initial check in form. I wish this site let you post pictures. You clearly can see that he was going to run an initial diagnostic test(look next to the initial fee, it says "after diag"). I even showed that to Paul when I was checking out, and Paul went just speechless ! James said he has been doing this for ~30 years; which makes me wonder if you are that experienced, why did you say you were going to run a complementary screening test and call me to authorize the reboot if you knew you were going to just run it without my authorization. Did you just forget what you said? Or you were planning to charge me for your "free complimentary screening" regardless !? Bottom line is : the office technicians and manager are professional. The work gets done in a reasonable time. My advice is to pay close attention to what you sign and initial on the check in sheet and make sure there is not estimated cost on it. Dont just listen to what they say. Regardless of what they SAY, they will just go by what you sign for !!.Your word, trust and satisfaction is likely not one of James priorities.

The Computer Hospital fills the gap between onsite IT specialist and the way most small businesses do it, an inconsitent patchwork of "Do It Yourselfer" business owners and employees who "know something about computers" implementing half baked solutions they found on some blog mixed with advice they picked up from the salesmen at the computer store. Frequent data losses, half the machines spend half their time bogged down with malware and viruses or just not working at all. The Computer Hospitals Jaime, Greg, Brandon, Sean, Velma and more. Best customer service/value ever. For 6 years now Computer Hospital has provided consistent support for Specialized Auto Repair, Galleria area motor vehicle service business. 6 XP workstations, data server, shop manager software on all, overlapping link software to parts ordering, accounting, marketing apps, some machines with dual boot, some with dual monitor, 4 printers each doing different functions. Portable Wifi hotspot as Comcast backup. These guys never cease to impress with their flexibility helping small business solve problems, all for dramatically less than than it would cost to have a full time or even part time professional on staff. Providers like "Geek Squad" can at times be helpful but its almost impossible to maintain relationship with a tech familiar with your systems and your needs. As such, your staff has to spend and pay for substantial time bringing new tech up to speed every time you have a problem. The Computer Hospital is the optimum business partner for small business in Houston. JA & JL

I recently had a problem when my office 2011 stopped opening up on my macbook pro. I am a physician so I decided to get the problem solved at the computer hospital. The drop off was fine, and the staff stated that needed 2 days to fix it. Problem 1 was that I never received a status update of any kind. I had to call to see what they were doing. The person on the phone said they were installing and uninstalling office until the applications open. I was astonished because I could have done this at home, and I did before I took my laptop to them. So day 2 arrives and still no call so I decide to get my computer no matter what. The person working the door was unprofessional in his demeanor, but that is oaky as long as the job gets done. But, the job was not done. My computer was still broke, thus I just took it home. I read on a few forums, and after several steps I reinstalled Mac OS Lion. To my amazement the reinstall worked and now all is good. So a computer illiterate was able to fix what the Computer Hospital could not! I hope this helps, but if you have a Mac go somewhere else.

I have been thrilled with the way the Computer Hospital folks can talk to me at my level, but obviously can talk to my computer at a far-more-advanced level. Prices are stated up front. AND THEY ARE FAST! I noticed on my most recent receipt that my drop-off comments & our phone conversations were all summarized in print. I guess I’ve had three computers repaired at the Computer Hospital & recall that each time I picked up a computer, there was a period of de-briefing where the computer was running, clearly showing that it had been repaired & the tech demonstrating anything I needed to see. I certainly appreciate that I am phoned within a few days of completion, to check on the success of the work. Thanks folks for your professionalism. I encourage all of my veteran friends to entrust your computer to the Computer Hospital; they will show their appreciation for your service. Semper fi!

Very reasonable place to get computer repair services. Been there twice now. First time it was to see if they could revive an external hard drive...they could not because it was dead internally....but they checked it out for me pro bono, explaining that in the case of hard drives they do not charge if they cannot recover your data. The second time, also related to a hard drive, they fixed a failure to mount in Windows problem and copied the contents to another drive for me. They gave me a quote before the work begin, and stuck with that price, even though the job required them more time to complete than they had anticipated (becasue it was a big external drive copied through a usb 1 port). So they are on my highly recommended list of repair shops...competent and honest....what else can one ask for?
