The grand opening crowds have finally subsided and I can come enjoy a tasty meal at my local El Pollo Loco. The first few months after opening were a complete mess.. You could hardly find any parking, the drive-thru was flooded, and there was hardly any seating available to dine in. Thank goodness thats all over with. Came on a Thursday night, needed to fuel up before hitting the gym hard. Traffic was very slow around 8:30-9:30PM. I walked in and was immediately helped out without any wait. The cashier was pleasant. I ordered a 2pc combo of their citrus marinated chicken, normally it comes with a leg and a thigh or a wing and a breast. I payed $1.75 extra to get two breasts. Ive always been breast kinda guy. Theres tons of sides to choose from like rice, corn, broccoli, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, black beans, and more. I always get the mashed potatoes here because they are BOMB AS FUUU! aka really effing good. For my second side, I usually get the rice or the black beans but this time with the help from the cashier, I ventured off and picked the Mac & Cheese. Omg, the Mac & Cheese is sooo cheesy! I love it. My total for my meal was $10.33, drink included. Everything was pretty great, the food was fresh, the citrus marinated chicken was on-point, but... Theres one thing this place really needs to fix. THE HORCHATA! Ive come a total of 4 times to this location since grand opening, and the Horchata is always Out of Order or they have ran out. I walked over to the fountain drink station seeking out the Horchata, had a huge smile on my face, happy to see that the Out of Order sign was not present, only to be completely disappointed when all that came out of the machine was tap water. Im Hispanic, I need to have my horchata fixed! I expect to have a cup of horchata on my next visit. Okay? Okay.

Food is phenomenal! I ordered two the the avocado chicken quesadillas. One for me and the other for my 11year old son. They were so amazing, so, so amazing! From the slight crunch of the cabbage to the tasty , and flavorfull grilled smokeyness of the chicken. Oh let me not forget about the sauce that is in them... It is simply divine, and you get almost one whole avocado, and the creamy texture of the cheese. Its completely filling. Im preggo, and super pickey so I was skeptical about the price, but its completely filling I didnt need chips or drink to make me feel satisfied. I would recommend El Pollo Loco... If your looking for lunch under $5 or $6.00, and something I would classify as fast food gourmet. Id say this is the spot. My only complaint however, is that they need one closer to where I live near spring/woodlands....

Today an employee in uniform flicked his lit cigarette into the parking lot then walked inside to grill chickens...without washing his hands. Three tables were nasty; covered with spills and food. Health is #1 and the Health Department should investigate this location. It also seems to be a daycare for employees, with one child of theirs sitting on the counter next to the cash register and two more walking on benches and tables. Glad I was inside to see this. Will not return.

Just tried for the first time tonight. Had the stuffed chicken quesadilla....never had a quesadilla so DRY! the flavor was dull also and too many onions. All the onions overpowered everything because they werent sautéed long enough to take down the pungency of the onion...also had the tortilla soup...unimpressed. Such a disappointment. Have had my eye on this place for a few months and not happy with this first visit.

There is not much I can say positive about the food. The 10 piece chicken order was dried out and tough. Almost no seasoning, to top it off pin feathers on the south end of a north bound chicken. The 500 cal salad had a thin slice of avacado and dry pieces of chicken. I was order 2592 on June 27. $17.00 meal I couldnt digest. I want make that mistake again.

My husband, toddler son, and I FEASTED at El Pollo Loco this evening with an 8 piece meal with a salad, chicken, tortillas, 2 sides, churros, and a side of chips! Everything was delicious! We dined in the clean, casual restaurant and brought home leftovers. We have also ordered out from here on two previous occasions and enjoyed those meals as well.

The wife and I has a half chicken combo to go and were pleased to find it very tasty. You can see the chicken grilling as you stand at the counter and the smell is great. Not huge portions as some people might expect, but in my mind it was more than enough for us. When sharing with someone, order an extra frijoles charros...you wont regret it.

Good pollo loco. Its already a good restaurant chain, but this one is very clean and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Good amount of parking. Their corn is the BEST! (Some people think its their free refill hirchata that is the best, though.) Only complaint is the lack of mountain dew or mellow yellow. Texas hates yellow soda. ;)

Food was what I expected, reminded me of taco bell, but kinda authentic..Anyway 4 stars because there was no plasticwear available and no cup tops next to the fountain machine and when I requested one and told them there werent available, no one came to stock it up. Oh, and green sauce is awesome. I felt that Avocato burrito needed more taste.

Update: I had to go from 5 stars to 1 because I tried the chicken avocado burrito and it was okay, but really mushy with the beans and avocado making every bite mush. Also, I was choking on something and j finally coughed it up and it was a sticker from the avocado! Now my throat is sore and scratchy from trying to get it out!

We just came through the drive thru to order chicken to take home. After we pulled up to order, we were informed it was a hour wait for chicken!!! Seriously!?!? How - this is a chicken place?? We were told we could order anything else on the menu. Really? Again its a chicken place all dishes have chicken in it.

This place is simply amazing!!! Not to expensive and the food just hits the spot. The rice could be a little bit more flavorful but put the rice and the charro beans in the tortilla and delicious!!! The chicken is great also just perfect with the flavor and moisture!! Highly recommend!!!

Had the tortilla soup. Flour tortillas too white. When I ask them to put on the many grilles the had on to brown, said they could not as they only heat in the microwave. What the heck. Asked for sour cream for my soup, wanted to charge .55 cents extra....Ill stick to Arandas.

Yum!Just like i remembered it from living in California. The taste is amazing and their green salsa is delicious. Anything you order from this place is perfect. The chicken is consistant and they have everything from a 2pc meal to a chicken bowl and burrito. Great lunch place.
