March 26, 2013 Let me tell a story. I dropped off my dry cleaning which consisted of a hand full of button downs, two suits and a jacket. The next day, I realized I left my pen in my coat pocket. I called and I was informed they had my pen, GREAT! I show up and the owner is at the location. I ask for my laundry and mention the pen. They bring out only one set of the three bundles which is my shirts. I then state I have two more pieces that I need to get, the owner went in the back to locate. At this point, they found my clothes but cannot locate my pen. Finally, the pen is in the drawer but I realize it is broken in two pieces. So I understand that I left my pen in the pocket, however, I ask the generic question of "dont you check the pockets before you send off for dry cleaning?" The owner responds with "Yes, the person was supposed to check." I then let the owner know that the pen was a gift from my father and the value of the pen to me both financially and emotionally. The owner stays quite, his employee comments on how much the pen was while the owner turns his back on me and walks to the back with the door closing behind him. Again, I know I should not of left the pen in the jacket, but for an owner of a services store, where your clients are your livelihood, you might want to extend a courteous apology for the situation especially after you comment "the person was supposed to check" So now I am out a nice pen as a gift from my father and a guy snubbing me while I paid him money. I will not take my business back to this place, that is not how you run a business.
