I wrote this place a great review when I signed up, but am changing it for the time being. The gym its self has great potential from classes, awesome rock wall, indoor and out pool, etc. The outdoor pool is a little small compared to lifetime pools and does not have the water slide. This gym appeals more to the middle aged person verses other lifetimes are full of families. What has me angry is the fact for the past week I have noticed the upstairs floor looks like it has not been swept or moped in months. Sweat stains and little things on the floor every where. Towels people use and just leave get piled up until one machine or bench has three or four. So not only are you not sure if it is being used you are working around dirty towels. I have worked out regularly at I believe six lifetime gyms and would highly recommend the chain in general. We came from the one in Katy last and S. Austin before that. Both had a top notch cleaning crew that you could see cleaning some part of the gym at all times. I can honestly say I have not ONCE seen a cleaning person whipping down a machine, sweep, mop, or anything on the middle floor where most people are at. In Katy as an example you would see someone do it every day. Morning or night they had someone around cleaning. They only have one towel holder on the main floor where most lt have two. Last week they were out of towels three times at six am where they are not even that busy. This morning on a rainy slow day they were just about out in the locker room when I left. The leg machines look like they have enough dust on them that they have not been really cleaned since the day they opened. A lot of the towels have dirt stains that you do not even want to use it. What makes this so bad is how easy it is to fix. It is not the 100 a month or so I pay for membership verse the $25 at la fitness or 24 hours, but rather the potential this gym has if some one took just a little pride in the place. I am not saying I am going to cancel, but I am highly considering making the thirty min drive to sugarland or to katy. I would and will easily pay the additional monthly dues over any other gym I know of because lifetime is that much better and promotes a much better quality of life in general. I just hate how dirty this gym stays. Also this is the only lt that puts all the benches together. Which only allows one person to have a spotter. They have tons of room I am not sure why they do not put a gap between the incline and flat benches to have a spotter. All the other Lifetime have it that way. If they fix this problem I will change it to a great rating. Also the gym has tons of places to eat or movies within walking distance

The City Centre/Town &country location in Houston, TX seriously the personnel are as SHADY snakes in the grass!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HIDDEN charges, from the top down ASHLEY whoever she is- is clueless but cunning, BRAD-GM, RYAN whatever he does--as of Nov 9, 2013! the greeter/card checkers are nice but clueless beyond taking your card/ID! They are ALL super nice when youre joining etc. Theres "NO contract" supposedly but you get charges up the wazoo without KY Jelly if you try to leave! Before you join -Do ask questions on how they handle different scenarios so you know how they deal. They are all about MONEY guys. NICE place with HORRIBLE CS=ANGRY customers. IF you need to cancel beware, they say one thing and do another. They dont keep their word or their contract. IF you cancel you will get charged EXORBITANT extra 2month charges even if you cant participate theres no way to make that up. If you get injured and need medical leave just KNOW that they will charge your account no matter what after 3 months whether or not you cant come into the luxury facility or not... never mind your leg is still in a cast, you have a Cranial brain bleed and a doctors note! This place is all about the money. I totally get keeping the cost elevated to keep a good clientele but just because we are professionals we can tell when we they are full of BS... There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for charging your account for things you did not sign up for. This place is nice and elite but BEWARE of charges, and ASHLEY and BRAD, and RYAN who only gave partial information about cancellation policy etc. SHADY PEOPLE. BEWARE and read everything. they expect you to be busy or because a person may have expendable resources to NOT CARE about a few hundred wasted here or there. But I guess they have to pay the mortgage somehow by cheating people out of their money...everyone wants their piece of OUR PIE!

I used to be a (platinum)member and Citycentre was my main location, and it wasnt perfect but I it was a good location (by far cleaner than the Willow Chase location). My daughter also enjoyed coming to this place, the people at daycare were always friendly. Last year I had to travel out the Country for several months, so I put my membership on hold and I was charged a monthly retention fee(it was around$18 witch was credited back on LT bucks) that was meant to avoid paying the initiation fee again. While I was away the credit card that I had on file on LT was stolen so I had to cancel it, shortly after I received and email from LT of my missing payment, when I answer the email I explained the situation and told that I had a just couple months left on my trip, and I was gonna get them my new card as soon as I got home since I didnt had the card with me (I didnt want to use an other card or give my information by email, since my other card was stolen via internet). When I got home I contacted the person that send me the emails and she told that the time to reactivate my account had past (I was a week late) and that now the only thing that I could do was go in person to a LT location and pay the retention fee months that I had missed about $50 (to avoid collection), open a new membership, pay a new initiation fee (about $150) and new adjusted higher monthly fees since I had lost my grandfathered fees. This made me walk away from Life Time and go to LA fitness( that is by far worse on every aspect). I was I member for over 4 years paying the highest membership available and even though there were many things to improve (customer service by the staff on the floor) me and my daughter were comfortable at this location, I just think since LT charges some of the highest fees in the industry they should provide their members with premium service.

The facility is nice but I experienced a true "bait and switch" sales pitch from management regarding membership. Life Time has acquired the City Club and the Galleria Tennis and Athletic Club quite suddenly and recently. They apparently plan to close the large number of indoor tennis courts at the City Club location. I met with their membership representative and very specifically asked if there would be add-on charges, like tennis court fees, in the future. He was very clear that there would be no fees and if I joined by the end on March, there would be no changes or added fees in the future. I joined for my family, committing to a year contract. Based on his assurances, I brought over a friend from another corporation, and fellow member at City Club. I toured the Town and Country facility with her with the same membership representative. She asked the same very specific questions and was clearly told there were and would be no add-on tennis court fees. She joined. About 1-2 weeks later, we both get emails indicating implementation of court fees. I complained and got no where. I asked to speak to a supervisor, who called several days later and promised to "Make it right." Never heard back from him. I was contacted by a trainer for a workout and I explained the issue. I was told I would be called that day. NO call. I was contacted again by the trainer and asked how the call went, and I informed her I never heard from anyone. Eventually I was called by the General Manager, who basically said "Im sorry" but the charges stay. He basically told me I can have my money back.Basically its "take it or leave it." This is a poor customer service practice for a company basically coming in and taking over long established clubs. I imagine that is why they can be so dismissive of their sales practices.
