I went to this salon for about five years. During that time, it was difficult to get an appointment, and on at least three occasions, I showed up for my appointment, and they tried to tell me that I didn’t have one. I have NEVER had that happen my whole life. I let that slide because I liked the stylist and owner, Kimberley Michelle. But more often than not, they would make me wait each time, sometimes up to an hour! I complained about not being able to get an appointment with Kimberley Michelle, and she sent me to another one of her stylists, who gave me a TERRIBLE haircut which she had to fix a few days later. Then she charged me for BOTH haircuts! The final straw came when I told them I only had two and a half hours before I HAD to leave. They still made me wait, then put the color on my hair and FORGOT to take it off. I finally told them to take it off, and Kimberley Michelle had 6 minutes to cut my hair (never mind styling). She told me she could do it at “show speed” and that my bangs were fine and didn’t need to be cut (since when?). Then they had the nerve to charge me $200 for a six minute haircut, no style, and root coverage (not even highlights). At that price, I can get much better service elsewhere, WITHOUT the abuse. I vowed NEVER to go back. I’m a pretty mild person and very forgiving, but I have never been treated so badly and had a salon be so ready to get rid of a paying customer who RARELY complained about their consistently atrocious customer service. If I could give them ZERO stars I would!

Well if you dont want to see another glowing review as to how awesome Anita is move along... ...of course you could linger for my sound PARKING advice: The entrance to Studio 31 is actually on Dennis and with all the construction and what not you can miss it. Also REEF has its giant valet only sign prominently displayed. Ignore that! They have three spaces marked for them AND you should be able to park in the general lot too. Dont park along Milam and pay $2 like a chump... or like me. The salon itself has a great vibe. Industrialist meets glam. Very pleasant. Offered me water right away and did spy some champs and wine. Anita was great. Asked me what I wanted made sure I was ok with length and shape before cutting. She was friendly and made the experience fun. I used a groupon and I will definitely be back and paying full price. Also she didnt try to hard up sell me. I always appreciate that when I visit a new stylist. I dont buy until Ive seen what it does irl! 5-stars all the way

AMAZING HAIRCUT!!!! Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, Ive visited CURTIS several times and have had great results each time! I have very curly hair and have struggled to find a new look. I was very pleased with my first few haircuts and during those visits, Curtis and I talked through different options for my hair, including Keratin. I finally took the plunge on a Kertain treatment and a major haircut and am very happy with the results! Curtis is extremely knowledgeable and really took time to help me understand the treatment process and what to expect in terms of the amount of curl vs. straight and how much effort would go into styling my hair each day. Ive received so many compliments on the new look and am happy to say Ive finally found a new hairstylist!

I went to Studio 31 after reading lots of great reviews online. I wanted a pretty dramatic change, going from a very long flat hairstyle to a short, highly textured bob. Leslie was my stylist and she did and AMAZING job. I brought in some pictures of what I was going for and she really worked to cater that style to my hair type. She made sure I liked how it was coming along at several points through out the process, and was very open to suggestions. Everyone there was very friendly, and easy to communicate with, and I walked out of there with a hair cut I love. Will definitely be going back to Leslie!!!

I got a Groupon for Studio 31 and really enjoyed the whole salon experience. I didnt get in right at my appointment time but anyone who knows about salon life can expect a slight delay. It was about 15 minutes past my appointment and Alex came and brought me over to her station and talked me through the right color and cut for my complexion, skin tone and hair type. I love my new haircut and the ombre was totally worth the $99 I spent on Groupon. I was one of the last clients in the studio and she even asked to style my hair before I left so I didnt miss any of the salon experience. I will be going back!

I found this salon through a Groupon and Im so glad I did! It is a small, quaint little studio with a great atmosphere. Deanna was my stylist - she took her time during the consultation and gave a great scalp and shoulder massage before the cut! She gave a wonderful suggestion for my thin, straight hair and I was very pleased with the final result. I have since taken my son back for a kids cut and again she took her time and was very thorough. I highly recommend Deanna and this salon! Ill be back again!

Studio 31 is the place to be! LISSA!!! Did an amazing job on my hair. It was my first time at the salon and everyone there treated me like I was a regular. The salon is clean and well organized. Appointment times are booked with more than enough time for the stylist to complete their work and not rush for their next appointment. Friendly service overall. I will be a regular for now! Studio 31 IS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR and your time! This salon is a must try because everyone their works in a team :)

I asked for a trim with Anita for the same style I had and she did completely the opposite. And then at the end, she saw that I was unhappy and she was like "Im sorry. I remember you telling me that in the beginning. I should have asked." I dont think I have disliked a haircut so much before and someone cutting my hair so completely opposite from what I asked in the first place.

This is my first time here. I really like this place and highly recommend. Its not only a good service, but the hairstylists here are very nice. Trevor is amazing! He is very nice and the color that he chose for me is perfect. I love it! I would say the price is average not too expensive. If anyone does not know where should get hair cut or color, you should try here.

Just got my hair did at this Studio 31 Hair Lab. I was worried I wouldnt find parking but theres a lot right out in front. The salon is rad inside, a loft feel with high ceiling and open air. The only complain was the thermostat must have been set to 68 because it was freezing! Set that thing at 77 and be done!

I had a groupon and got my hair cut, styled, and highlighted. She did an amazing job and she was on time, asked me what I was looking for and gave me great suggestions. Loved it and will go back! Prices are quite expensive though.
