I wish I could give them negative reviews. If you know that outlook has to use the internet to receive your email - then this IS NOT THE SHOP FOR YOU!********ANYONE WHO HAS REPLACED ANY HARDWARE - THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT THE SHOP FOR YOU!!******It took over three days for them to tell me my motherboard was bad (no video output post blue screen)...but they dont know exactly why it was bad. Perhaps a bad capacitor. They said my motherboard company, XFX, which is a well known gaming motherboard manufacturer, was one they had never heard of and *should* have a lifetime warranty. But, they dont do the return on things like that. So I had to remove it or I could pay $60 more for them to remove it. I opted for them to remove it since its the only thing Ive never removed myself. They never mentioned that it might be repairable. Having them remove the motherboard took another 5 days. When I went to pick up my pc, they had removed/lost 3 out of 4 of my slide clips and replaced them with little tiny 1990s style pc screws - but I didnt notice until I got home. Of course that was after they closed. Back to while I was there, I had mentioned buying a new motherboard - and the guy said Id have trouble finding that socket and have to replace the memory, video-card, etc. Thats basically BS (my PC is only a couple years old and Ive done many upgrades - one as few as 6 months ago). Anyway - the clips are super hard to find (though they are the coolest thing ever for taking off the side of the box without having to unscrew anything and dropping screws - just push up and youre unlocked). I also noticed that on the itemized reciept, it said that the motherboard could be repaired for (an additional) $150. Uh, no one said that to me...otherwise, I probably would have just said "fix it." Anyway, my husband went back to get my clips and ask about the possible repair, and they made him bring in the entire pc AGAIN because they didnt know what he was describing. They gave him two thumb screws and screwed two of the little 1990s screws that I DIDNT want into the other side of the pc...great... Well, after dinner, I went to look inside at all of my lose pieces...during when I dropped both thumb screws onto carpet - and spent 20 minutes looking for them. (This is why I loved the clips - because they dont actually have to come off the pcs side panel -- so I have no idea how they lost them). So, I spent $129.90 for B&B to take 8 days with my pc, remove a motherboard, lose but not replace my clips, treat my husband as if he and/or I was a liar, and generally piss me off. Thanks for ruining my week - especially the last two days - and my husbands day (his last day home before he goes off to the rig) when he wasted almost 2 hours dealing with you. Next time Ill make the 4 hour trip to Corpus to my PC guy that I used when I lived there. Id rather lose days from work driving there and back than to ever do business again with Bits & Bytes. Oh and theres a "void if removed" warranty sticker (the extra sticky kind) on the back of my pc. I have no idea what would be under warranty since they cant even replace the clips on the pc.

They were great today fixing my ASUS Notebook (N56V) in a few minutes and didnt charge me for it....Is that Great...!!!!! Notebook is 1 1/2 years old and had blank screen when powered up. I had just got off phone with ASUS and after talking me through different tests they said I had to send it to them to repair. Would take couple of weeks and is chargeable since Im 6 months out of warranty. Thought I would check with Bits & Bytes before sending it. They had me fixed in 10 minutes and again... NO CHARGE. Said it was pretty common problem and easy to fix. I highly recommend these folks to anybody having PC problems...they are honest and know their stuff... Plus just nice folks....

Couldnt solve a simple task, came in because my computer wouldnt turn on, had to keep it in there shop for a week until I got a answer saying my motherboard was dead and I had to replace it with a new one that will cost 300$ So I ended up going to another computer shop and they told me it was only a power supply that will only cost 50$, B&B is a BIG SCAM trying trick me into buying a new motherboard so that they can keep my gaming motherboard and probably end up throwing in a use Powersupply so they can make a big profit nice try Im never doing business with them again. Go somewhere else before they scam you too!!!!

If you need ANY assistance with your computer, THIS IS THE PLACE TO VISIT! They are very professional and very friendly. The technical staff explained to me at detail what was happening with my computer and gave me several options. And, no pressure what so ever from any of them. It is almost impossible to get this kind of customer service these days. And, they do not charge for the hour like other places that take your money. Do not take your changes with service providers that work from the garage or are on the run. I highly recommend this place. Thank you! OFS

Not a good experience at all .. Either they dont know what they are doing or they are lying to the customer . I took my IMac to them and they said the diagnose is free and after few days they called me and said :we test the Hard desk (without asking me ) and that cost you $$ and you need to change the hard desk because it is not working. I said thank you and I dont want to fix it . After few month I tried another place and they install just new software and my IMac working again without changing the hard desk .

What can I say about Bits & Bytes Computers other than simply........AMAZING! Ryan helped me understand what was going on with my computer, took care of the viruses that had popped up from adds, and upgraded my software from McAfee to Kaspersky (which was a way better anti virus software, who knew!). He took care of me and the price wasnt so bad either. I was super nervous going in because of how much it would cost, but he was so helpful and knew his stuff. I will be going to them a lot more now!

Needed a part soldered on for my salt water pool circuit board, did not know if they would do this for me, but they said they did. I had the part they needed; a little over a hour later they called to let me know it was ready. Put all the connections back on the board, started it up to see if it fixed my problem, It worked!!! Saved myself a lot of money! I would highly recommend these guys, very nice and pleasant to work with!

Worst experience possible with a store in the 33 years I have spent in Houston. No diagnosis of the problem and was charged $162.38 anyway. Disputed the charge with American Express, complained to the Better Business Bureau and Im also talking to my attorney. Will blast the people at Best Buy for recommending this place and will post on this site until the problem is resolved. More details later.
