I have medium long fine hair and had not had a perm for over five years. I wanted a spiral perm and was assured there was a stylist at Petras who was experienced in this. I brought pictures to show her how I wanted it to look like Carole King. She was very pleasant, but did not use any rollers designed for spiral hair, and the perm only took a little over an hour,which seemed short. As directed, I didnt shampoo my hair for three days, then used a shampoo for curly hair, scrunched but did not comb or brush, and my hair had just the slightest wave when wet, and was straight when dry. Within three weeks there was not even a wave when wet. I had told all my friends I was getting a perm and they kept asking when because you couldnt tell anything had been done to my hair - there was not even any more body than usual, much less the no fuss curly look I wanted. I wold not recommend this salon to anyone.

My wife and I both go here and have always had a great experience. I used to go to a corporate mens hair cut shop and every time I felt as if it was my first time there. No one remembered me or could figure out that I get the same hair cut every time. After two trips to Petra they knew who I was and what I liked. What impressed me most was when I convinced my wife to get her hair cut and colored here. She wanted to make a dramatic change by shortening her hair and lightening it up. Morgan made every effort to see that my wife was comfortable being there for the first time and she walked out feeling and looking like a million dollars! If you have any reservations about this place dont hesitate to call in or stop by because they will treat you with the southern hospitality and professionalism we all are looking for. Prices are great too.

My stylist Madison did a great job on my hair and she gave me exactly what I wanted. She was a great listener and made very helpful suggestions. As I got my hair done I looked at the prices and calculated my hair shouldve came out to about $110. However, when I checked out it came to $153. Im not sure why it came out to that much and if they add any extra fees they should HAVE to tell the customer. I didnt have time to say anything as I was late for a meeting but Im going to try and call and see what I can do. From some of these reviews though it looks like I wont be getting very far. Overall my hair experience was great but I did feel cheated out of money. Luckily I had $156 dollars in the bank but obviously it doesnt leave me anything.

Went to get a basic highlights done. For starters they dont blow dry your hair after you get it done. You are supposed to go home and do it yourself and call if there are any problems. A girl named Nicole completely ruined my hair by turning it white and orange and told me purple shampoo would fix it even after she saw how bad it looked. Petra was very nice and tried to fix it for me one time but it was not fixed and the ladies would not make me another appointment with her. I never got my money back and was left with ruined hair. Would not recommend this salon to anyone especially girls wanting to get highlights. Another hair dresser told me that she had not seen bad highlights like I had in years. Terrible experience.

Ive been to petras and I love it...its a bit pricey but def worth it. Nicole is absolutely the best hair stylist there shes awesome with color and great with doing up dos! She did my hair for 9th grade banquet and also Both my proms!!! Shes amazing!! I havent been in like 3 years but i highly doubt anything has changed about the salon its always clean and everyone is so nice there. They use Paul Mitchell Products so your getting amazing treatments on your hair!! Love it

Just had a horrible experience. Called ahead and booked a trim for my sister. We get there and we got the dirtiest look from the girl at the counter. There was an awkward initial interaction when we first arrived. She acted like we were lost and didnt belong there. She excused herself for a few minutes to the back. All of a sudden, even though we had an appointment, they couldnt see us. I guess its because we werent white like everyone else being seen.

I have difficult hair to cut and was reassured that woman cutting my hair was great and would take care of it. Well... it turned out looking pretty terrible. Wasnt what I asked for and didnt look good anyways. They were cool though and let me have my hair redone/fixed for free by another woman. Kat is awesome she fixed my hair as much as possible. Just significantly shorter than I originally wanted.

My first visit was yesterday (8/10/17). It was a wonderful experience. Erica and the rest of the ladies are professional and very pleasant. I have a new hairstyle and Im beyond satisfied. If you are considering something new. Please visit these lovely ladies, hopefully you will not regret it. Dont underestimate Lubbock, it has something for everyone. Go TEXAS!!!!

The salon is beautiful, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, but the downside is the cleanliness. I and several others almost slipped on hair that hadnt been swept the bathroom could have been better kept and the toilet paper should be more easily accessible when it needs to be refilled.

To Anu N: I get my eyebrows threaded at a kiosk in the South Plains Mall. Theyre all nice Indian women who actually know what theyre doing. Its only about $10. Definitely try it. Also, does anyone know anything about David at Petra? Im making an appointment with him soon.

Ive had my hair cut here three times since I moved to Lubbock, and I wont go anywhere else. Madison is the best. The salon has a pretty nice gift shop and they have sales often, it seems. Im happy to have finally found a hair place worth returning to.

I got my hair done for a ball and it turned out amazing! My updo lasted all night through dinner and dancing. Madison is amazing! I highly recommend this salon, it was worth every penny.

Veronica gives the best hair cuts I have ever had. She is worth the money, and is as good as many much more expensive stylist.
